Awesome sound, a little loose on the fit in my ear

I've been using the SoundCore Liberty Pro 4’s for about 2 weeks now and can say they are well worth the price. Firstly, the sound quality on these is fantastic, and the bass is surprisingly good for wireless earbuds. The 360 surround sound actually works quite impressively with most movies and shows. These earbuds have an extremely satisfying case to open and hold with it not being too bulky or blocky. The app is simple to set up as well and anyone could easily figure out how to do it. The charging cable these come with works well enough and gets them charged up relatively fast, and the battery life on these is able to last me a long time. The earbuds themselves last long outside the case and charge back to full in the case very quickly as well.Overall I highly recommend the Soundcore Liberty Pro 4’s as a pair of headphones for any type of phone for this price point.

Comfortable for all day use

As the title says I have used these earbuds all day without fatigue. They have a simple design and simple controls on them. However, one downside is how sensitive the buttons are set by default. They are set to the softest setting from the beginning. When trying to adjust them for a better fit in my ears I found that the buttons that pause or skip whatever it is you are listening to get pressed very easily and you can either miss a part of a podcast that you have to go back to, or it will jump to the next episode in the series. Although this is a minor inconvenience the sensitivity can be adjusted via the app to have the buttons require a firmer press, I found it happening enough to worth mentioning. That aside these are by far the best fitting and most comfortable ... MoreAs the title says I have used these earbuds all day without fatigue. Although this is a minor inconvenience the sensitivity can be adjusted via the app to have the buttons require a firmer press, I found it happening enough to worth mentioning. That aside these are by far the best fitting and most comfortable earbuds I own. There are several ear tips to allow the best fit to allow the ANC to work the best for most. Currently I have two different size ear fitment tips on them a smaller one for my right ear and the largest one for my left ear. In a part of the app that sets the ANC for optimal settings there is an ear canal test to test for proper fit and it instructs to either adjust the ear bud or choose a different ear tip for proper fit. ANC optimization is done automatically. All of this allows you to get the best sound out of your earbuds.Another settings allow for Spatial audio, which is odd and takes a bit to get used to. Spatial audio separates left and right channels and follows your head position. So, if you turn it on in one position and turn your head left most of the sound comes out of the left channel and vice versa for the right channel. This is a neat feature for live recorded music.Battery life is impressive as I have only charged the case once since they had arrived, and everything is still showing 100% in the app for battery level. There are other features that are included in the design. Heart rate monitor is one that stands out to me. It senses your heart rate in your ear. Although I have not used this enough to comment on the effectiveness of it or the soundcore Wellness section of the app, I thought I would mention it in this review if it were something that is of interest to you.The best thing to me by far that I noticed and like about these is that you can use either the right or left alone and still listen to music, podcasts or just use the phone. The only thing that I could see that may be a potential problem would be the case that stores and charges them when not in use. The design could be improved as it currently slides open, and the top seems a bit flimsy once fully open, and I would be afraid to snap it off. To me it ought to be hinged and a bit thicker.

The fit in the ear is pretty good, but will need occasional adjustments, which comes into “the not so good” below. With fit being important for comfort and noise cancelation, it does come with 4 total sets of ear silicones – small, 2 mediums, and large.Sound is extremely good, with great sound range, including nice, deep bass, and is some of the best sound in stem-based earbuds I’ve used to date. There are 22 preset EQ modes, or the ability to tweak your own to your own liking. The headphones have three sound modes – ANC, “Normal”, and “Transparency Mode”. The ANC (active noise cancelation) mode easily rates an 8 on a scale of 1-10 in terms of its effectiveness (though like most other noise cancelling headphones there is a noticeable “stuffy head” sensation when using them without accompanying music). “Transparency Mode” allows ambient sounds in, which is great when you want some music or a podcast but still need to be able to hear things around you, whether that’s co-workers or traffic when using while outdoors. Within “Transparency Mode”, you have the option of allowing everything through (“fully transparent”), which makes it feel almost like you’re not wearing headphones at all, or “vocal mode” which tries to filter most ambient noises except voices. If you’re using these while outdoors and want to maintain good situational awareness, I suggest the “fully transparent” mode.Depending on the mode you’re using, you can get several hours of use out of one charge. I was averaging about 2-2.5 hours when using at work in transparency mode, though at home that was somewhat less when I was using them in ANC mode. A drop-in charge for about a half hour makes them ready to use again for another couple of hours.Controls are extremely small – a thin, almost microscopic button on the stems of each of the ear buds, which can be configured to different modes with the app. They are tough to find and will sometimes trigger the in-ear detection (see below). No one usually talks about a case when doing reviews, but Anker put some design into the case, as well. A sleek, rounded case features a slide top to get to the buds, where you’re greeted by an LED-lit inner case, illuminating the headphones and adding a classy touch. The lights also give you visual feedback they’ve been inserted back into the case properly and are charging. And following the lead of the rest of the market, the case charges with a USB-C cable, which is included. (Finally I think we’ve pretty much moved past micro USB.)The Not So Good:The biggest complain I have is the in-ear detection (which can be disabled). Essentially, it automatically pauses playback if you pull one or both buds out, and resumes when they’re back in. The problem with this is the detection is VERY sensitive, even after calibrating with the app. The result is any time you try to adjust the headphones in your ear they pause the music, and often don’t resume, requiring you to trigger it with the headphones button or grab your phone. Likewise, when pushing the button on the stem to stop/start music, answer a call, or whatever other options you’ve set in the app, wiggling the earbud(s) will cause the music to pause as it loses detection that it’s still in your ear.The app also includes bloatware in the form of “Soundcore Wellness”, with the headphones capable of detecting heart rate while you’re working out. Most of us already have a preferred fitness app and/or smartwatch that monitors our exercise and aren’t buying a set of headphones with the intention of getting a heartrate monitor out of it. It sounds like one of those extra “features” some engineer pushed to include with no one likely to actually use it. But it’s there if you choose to use it.Overall:These are well-fitting, comfortable, all-day wear ear buds that you can easily wear in the office and enjoy your music, while opting between cancelling everyone else out with the ANC or not being rude and being able to actually interact with others with the passthrough sound options. Of the headphones I have, these have now become my #1 in-ear buds to use for everyday wear and at the gym.

Finally Earbuds I actually like
19 October 2022

I've never really been a fan of wireless earbuds, they always seem to fall off on me, sound funny, or I have to raise the volume because the outside noise is too loud to hear them. The other issue is of course the earbuds falling off. The Apple wired earbuds were pretty much my favorite, only because I would use them in my helmet, as they're the only ones that would stay in. However, these premium wireless earbuds are great! The default ear tips worked best for me. The Small and Large would were not a good fit, but I’m glad they are included as obviously everyone has different sized ears.I started simply with just using the earbuds and connecting to my iPhone, you could tell that the noise cancellation was automatically on, but that's about it. After using it for a few days on calls and just listening to music, I decided I wanted to use the app and see what other features I'm missing out on.What features was I missing? the ability to use "transparency mode" - which allows you to eliminate noises but focus on voice, or a "fully transparent" mode which just brings in all outside noise - this would be useful for when walking on the street to be aware of your surroundings. The most important feature is "HearID ANC" which allows you to run an ear canal test customize the sound to your specific ear, this is highly recommended. The other reason I needed to app - after I had successfully connected the earbuds to 2 devices (Nintendo Switch & iPhone), I could no longer connect to new devices - which I wanted to connect to my AppleTV. In the settings within the app, there is a "Dual connections" area in which is where you can start connecting more than 2 devices. Once I went into there, I had the option to connect a new device. On the AppleTV, when watching anything I switch the spatial audio mode to Movie Mode, because it brings the vocals closer to you, whereas the "music mode" it sounds more like you're in a concert, which works better for music. Bonus: if you use head tracking, the audio will come out of the left/right earbud depending on where you are looking, which is fantastic. The only thing I don't like, which is across most headsets, is the echo/concert hall effect when you're on a call, because of the mic. I can hear myself breathing and it feels very uncomfortable, this usually happens when using a headset that has a boom mic close to my mouth. Again, this is normal, and other people are used to it, it is not normal for me but it's acceptable. There is also a wellness portion in the app as the earbuds can also measure your heart rate, and can connect to Apple Health, but I did not get into it and I'm not interested in it as I already have an Apple Watch that does the same.Pros:HearID ANC /Spatial audio Head trackingGood battery lifeCan be connected to 2 devices at the same timePower levels shown in the appFit Tests to properly relay sound to your specific earsCons:Pricey, but premium soundPinching controls for each earbud seems difficult (however, you can customize and change sensitivity of pinches, just not interested)Requires app/account if you've already connected 2 different devicesMost features require the app.

I really did not see the value in the heart rate monitor as I am usually tied to a desk for work and rarely wear earbuds when exercising. I can see this feature being of value to those who do. The fit was great right out of the unboxing where usually I need to try several bud sizes to find ones that do not hurt over time, but not with the Liberty 4s. I also found the interface between squeezing the sides of the buds to get a response to my iPhone a bit weird at first having to figure out the controls to hang up the phone or increase the volume on my playlist. I am not sure that I have it mastered even after a week of daily use.PROS- Anker brand, quality, and innovation- Comfortable for all-day use- Battery life suitable for nearly any use for all-day- Design is great and the charger case is fun and stylish- Offers a unique heart rate monitor built in to the earbudsCONS- Not sure the heart rate monitor is necessary for everyone

Incredible bass!
18 October 2022

They have a spatial audio feature that creates a surround-sound effect that can actually follow your head movements. The Soundcore wellness feature measures heart rate, along with stress level and can monitor/record exercise sessions.Even when not playing music, the Liberty 4 offer three settings for ambient sound:1. Noise cancellation - blocks almost all outside noise,2. Normal - allows some exterior noise to filter through, and3. Transparency - allows almost all sound to pass through as if you weren't wearing them at all. The transparency mode also has selections for fully transparent and vocal mode.I've never experienced anything like it!For me, the fit is snug and comfortable with the medium ear tips, but they come with an extra set of medium, as well as small and large to help you find the perfect fit.The controls are simple - touch one time to play/pause and two times to make/receive a call. They also let you pair with two different devices at the same time allowing you to switch between devices. These things are awesome! They have so many options, functions, and are so much more than just a pair of earbuds. They are by far the best earbuds I've ever used!

JUST KEEP GETTING BETTER AND BETTER!!!

I would like to start off by saying that I have tested out multiple earbuds and headphones by Soundcore and I have yet to come across a pair that I did not like and the Liberty 4 was no exception. The Liberty 4 are Active Noice Cancelling earbuds are perfect for everyday use, but they just got better. The Liberty 4 now have a built-in heart rate sensor and even better spatial audio. These earbuds can now track your heart rate, calories burned, and even your stress level. The earbuds are very comfortable to wear, great fit, which can be adjusted with the provided ear tips, and most importantly sound amazing with their Hi-Res audio, deep punchy bass, clear treble and mids, Active Noise Cancellation, transparency mode and overall, just crisp, clear and amazing sound ... MoreI would like to start off by saying that I have tested out multiple earbuds and headphones by Soundcore and I have yet to come across a pair that I did not like and the Liberty 4 was no exception. The earbuds are very comfortable to wear, great fit, which can be adjusted with the provided ear tips, and most importantly sound amazing with their Hi-Res audio, deep punchy bass, clear treble and mids, Active Noise Cancellation, transparency mode and overall, just crisp, clear and amazing sound quality. I have been using these earbuds for about a week now in variety of uses such gaming, watching movies, taking phone calls, and most importantly listen to some beats and they sound amazing no matter what your usage may be. So, let’s go over some of the features, PROS and CONS of the New Liberty 4 by Anker.Features:• Comfortable and Light Weight- These earbuds are comfortable to wear even for extended periods of time. The ear tips are silicone that provide a good seal and provide all day comfort. I was able to wear these while working out, and every day use watching movies, listening to music and answering phone call. I had these on for about 6 hours straight without any discomfort or issues.• Active Noise Cancelling – So, normally standard noise cancelling technology cancels out ambient sound, but Soundcore has developed what they call HearID ANC. What Hear ID does, it analyzes your ear and the in-ear pressure and uses that to create a custom-tailored noise and ambient sound reduction. The HearID will automatically adjust the noise cancellation to the level of noise around you. have tested out other expensive brands of headphone and the noise cancellation on these is just as good, if not better.• Hi-Res Audio and Spatial Sound – The Hi-Res and LDAC music compatibility makes the music come alive. If you subscribe to music services such as Tidal, which supports LDAC truly makes for more of an enjoyable experience. LDAC feature allows for three times the data transmission from the device to the earbuds. More data allows more highs and lows and for you to have the best audio experience as possible. I have a subscription to Tidal music and I must say that the sound quality and the audio resolution is much better and makes for a much more enjoyable experience. The Spatial sound is an amazing feature. This feature literally makes the music sound like its coming from all around you. You have the option to choose between fixed or head tracking in spatial sound. The fixed audio option makes the audio seem likes its coming from all around you, and the head tracking, which is really cool, moves the audio move from left to right and up and down depending on your head movements. It truly is an experience.• Charging and Battery Life – The case can be charged either wirelessly or with a provided USB-C cable. The earbuds have about a 9-hour battery life but that can vary depending on your use. The ANC does affect your battery life, but no worries the case can provide you with about 28 hours of charging, or about 3 full charges.• Soundcore App – Even though the earbuds can be used without any application, I highly recommend that you download the Soundcore app if you want to fully utilize the features available on the earbud. The app allows you to choose from many different preset equalizer settings, customize the HearID settings, allows you access the heartrate and stress detection. The soundcore app is truly a must for you to unlock the full protentional of the amazing headphones.PROS:• Hi-Resolution Auido• Spatial Audio• Ability to simultaneously connect to 2 devices at once• Heart Rate sensor• Amazing Noise Cancellation• Comfortable even with extended wear• Multiple Presets and CustomEqualizersCONS:• I could not find anything that I was not pleased with on these earbudsOverall, these are probably the best earbuds you can get that offer premium sound and features at a very non price point. As I had mentioned before, I had the privilege to test out multiple Soundcore earbuds and headphone and there has not been a single one that I was not pleased with. The Anker Soundcore series just keeps getting better and better.

Premium Sound with Heart Rate monitor

Soundcore Liberty 4 are great new wireless earbuds from Anker. The buds have a stem similar to Apple Airpods. They store neatly in a magnetic case with a slide top the clear ear cushions light up when the top of the case is opened making them easy to see even in darker places. The design of the case makes it less likely they will inadvertently fall out upon opening. The earbuds have great sound using the ACAA™️ 3.0 Coaxial Acoustic System with dual drivers you can customize the Active Noise Cancelling using HearID in the soudcore app. Hear ID plays a series of tones at different levels and you respond whether you hear it or not creating a noise canceling profile just for you. I found it improved the sound for me. There is 360° Immersive Spatial Audio with Music and Movie Modes this does work to keep you centered in the audio content and to allow the should to stay centered even while changing head position thanks to built in gyroscopes. These earbuds offer multipoint connection meaning you can connect them to your phone and computer at the same time and switch between them seamlessly. There are controls in the stems of each earbud that can be customized but default to single press for play/pause, double press for ambient sound for both and triple press next for right and previous for the left bud.I used the earbuds for several phone calls and the sound was great the callers reported the sound from the microphones was great with no dropouts like I have experienced from other earbuds. The earbuds have support for Bluetooth 5.3 ,AC, LDAC, and SBC codecs . If you use LDAC playtime will be reduced. I found the soud response for music great using HearID ANC setting.Anker has included several size ear tips to fit your ear and provide the best sound. I found the double layer tips very comfortable. These earbuds include a Heart Rate Sensor in the right earbud. You access the heat rate through the Sounddcore App using the wellness tab. There is a stress monitor and an option to turn on a neck posture monitor. There are even a few guided walking and running activities along with a custom activity you can create. This is unique to these earbuds and Anker has added additional value with this if you are a runner. You can turn off the heart rate monitoring from the app.The earbuds have up to 9 hours of play time depending on volume I got about 4hr 15 min you can use the case to recharge the earbuds for up to 28 hrs of use, full recharge takes 1 hour in the case, 15 minutes to fast charge them for 3 hours of additional play. The case itself takes 2 hours to fully charge. Anker lists some examples of typical play time in their Q and A by their testing listed here.Normal Mode: Up to 9 hours on a single charge/28 hours with the charging case.Noise Cancelling Mode: Up to 7 hours on a single charge/24 hours with charging case.Transparency Mode: Up to 7 hours on a single charge/24 hours with charging case.Call: Up to 5 hours on a single charge/15 hours with charging case. The Soundcore app is used to access the settings of the Liberty 4. The wellness tab allows you to see your heart rate and stress level. You can switch the listening modes, manually adjust the EQ, take the ANC HearID test. It also allows you to update the firmware. I had no problems with the App on Android 13. The one missing option is a locate for a lost earbud.Overall I would say Soundcore has produced a great earbud with the Liberty 4 with incredible value for the price. This earbud is certainly a what I consider premium.

Rich Sound, Strong Bass

I’d been enjoying my Soundcore Air 2 Pro earbuds for almost 2 years. But after a nice brisk walk along the seawall a few weeks ago, I leaned over to look down at a pelican & felt my left earbud begin to fall out. Enter my new Soundcore Liberty 4’s!The 3 best features of the Soundcore Liberty 4’s (vs. my previous Soundcore Air 2 Pros) are the improved sound quality, adequate active noise-cancelling & strong bass.Although the out-of-the-box sound quality is good (especially for this price-point), the Soundcore App is the key to optimization & maximum enjoyment. The App’s adjustable/customizable equalizer w/presets allows me to dial up the heavier bass (Bass Booster) that I want for some of my motivating music playlists. While these buds don’t produce the kind of staccato clarity & definition or punchy bass found in some well-known higher end buds, this iteration of Soundcore easily provides better, brighter, crisper highs & stronger bass than my old Air 2 Pros. I would even say that, to my surprise, in some aspects, these buds produce a sound quality that gives another more expensive competing brand of wireless buds I own a run for their money. The App includes an array of preset sound profiles, or you can create your own. I like the ability to quickly change modes. For example, after listening to something upbeat in “Rock” mode w/thumping base, I can make a fast switch to “Podcast” mode for a talk/lecture that gives me clear & detailed treble. The EQ presets make an appreciable difference in my overall listening experience & enjoyment. The noise cancelling is also adjustable. You can select from several pre-set options or use the HearID App feature which maps your personal hearing sensitivities across a spectrum of frequencies during a short hearing test to produce your unique hearing profile. While it’s obviously not as accurate & detailed as an audiologist’s audiogram in a soundproof booth, you can certainly utilize it to help broadly compensate for hearing losses & improve your overall listening experience for music & podcasts.Another plus: so far, the battery life has been good. I’m getting more than 8 hours of play in normal mode. There are really no negatives to speak of with these buds. The ergonomic shape of the buds & the super-soft silicone ear tips are comfy enough. While I like that the stem (or stick) design makes it easy to adjust the controls, they don’t feel quite as secure as my other pair of fully in-ear “stemless” buds. So, I don’t think I’ll be using these for sports or workouts … or walks along the seawall.

Soundcore knocks it out of the park!

The first thing I want to say about these earphones is, they are outstanding and the best sounding earbuds I have used.First, the fit is very comfortable, and they stay in place while exercising. Soundcore provides you with several different size ear tips for the best fit. When wearing them the fit creates a good seal to your ear and helps to keep outside noise from coloring your listening experience.Features wise, there are a lot packed into these small earphones. Not only do they play music, but they are geared for the health of the person using them. Liberty 4’s App has a section called Soundcore Wellness, that can track your heart rate, stress level and blood oxygen level and show daily, weekly, etc. The health portion of the app is a great feature for when ... MoreThe first thing I want to say about these earphones is, they are outstanding and the best sounding earbuds I have used.First, the fit is very comfortable, and they stay in place while exercising. Liberty 4’s App has a section called Soundcore Wellness, that can track your heart rate, stress level and blood oxygen level and show daily, weekly, etc. The health portion of the app is a great feature for when I am working out and I want to maintain healthy levels. As for the sound, the Liberty has that covered too. Through the application you can customize the sound for special immersion, use the preset sound settings or customize the eq to your liking. With the HearID feature you can personalize how you hear sound from the Liberty 4s. There are three settings for noise Ambient sound settings, Noise Cancellation, Normal and Transparency. These have a full clean sound that doesn’t seem possible with their size or shape. Bass is full and the overall sound is outstanding. There is a charging case for storing and charging the earbud that is 2¼” x 2½” x 1”. The charging case allows you to charge the earbuds for up to twenty-nine hours. Fully charged, the Liberty 4s will play up to nine hours. There is a status light on the case that shows when the case is being chargedAs for controls on the earbuds, each has three that can be customized to your preferences. depending on what function you are using, the button use will change. For example when you are answering a call the buttons control answer and ending the call, etc.For my daily use with the Liberty 4s, I have been extremely happy with the overall sound quality and features when exercising and highly recommend them.
