Iâve read a couple of reviews here saying this isnât up to Byredo standards, but I think it has actually surpassed them. I use their shower gels on a regular bases but the perfumes have never sat on my skin in a pleasant way. My body chemistry has not previously mixed well with their scents. However, Young Rose has been a revelation. I got a free sample and then had to immediately buy a bottle. A friend described it as being very âcome-hitherâ and I think thatâs very true, itâs pretty addictive. The results have been (fanning myself) remarkable. I also saw people commenting on the price, which doesnât strike me as particularly unusual for 100ml. I donât think I can describe the complexity of scents any better than the literature produced by Bryredo, but I will say that on my skin it isnât sickly sweet at all, it more sexy and slightly musky. It also lasts a long time on my skin. In fact when I tried the sample I deliberately didnât wash a patch of skin on my neck to see if it I could still smell it the next morning and I could. And although I probably wouldnât be considered a âyoung roseâ it doesnât matter as this is a really grown-up perfume. Itâs not just light and airy, it has depth and packs an extremely delicate (because weâre roses) punch. With any perfume I would recommend getting hold of a sample or trying in store before buying a full size bottle.

Beautiful outer packaging and an elegant, simple bottle would make any Byredo perfume a lovely gift. This is a modern light rose with a musk base - not at all a traditional rose fragrance. It is very fresh and clean but unfortunately does not last long. Whilst I do not like to wear 'overwhelming' fragrances I do like to catch a hint of my perfume through the day. Lovely but not long lasting enough for me. I have other Byredo fragrances that 'wear' better and wonder if this is perhaps a formulation issue. Due to this would probably not repurchase even though I love the fragrance.

Gypsy Water opens with a glaze of lemon tinged juniper and pine, almost like that of Lemon Pledge, but with a sweeter vanilla finish which takes it from Lemon Pledge to more of a lemon custard. After a short time, the perfume begins to soften and them lemon becomes light and tart and slightly sour with addition of a quiet incense and wood. I was expecting Gypsy Water to be a lively and phrenetic fragrance, but instead, itâs rather subdued and unassuming. After around 20 minutes, the pine, amber and sandalwood come together to provide for a creamy, but lightly incensed powdered warmth. In the end, Gypsy Water is a lightly warmed quiet woody perfume, that although unassuming, is rather mysterious.

About two years ago I took a trip to London and on the flight there, the flight attendant had this beautiful scent on that immediately grabbed my attention. I regret not asking her what she was wearing at that moment. Fast forward, Iâm in the London airport and I continue smelling the scent and I go inside a perfume store but... I canât find it. Instant regret!!! I was on a scavenger hunt at this point. Iâve searched online and finally I go into a Nordstrom and started looking at jo Malone. They had a similar scent but then realized it wasnât it, it didnât last long and it wasnât as powerful. For my birthday this year I decided to blindly buy another byredo perfume based on the reviews (weâve been there, right?) and today my savanger hunt is OVER!!! I donât know what has happened to my skin but recently I havenât been able to wear a fragrance and still be able to smell and feel comforted by the scent only a short time after I wear it. I didnât even realise how this made me feel. I only have the little sample vial of this one and it has become precious to use! There is something about the notes that last beautifully on my skin. I love this scent but really need to justify buying it for myself. I have Rose of No Manâs Land and would never have thought Gypsy Water would have been one I wanted to try. The sample offered with my order has lifted me as I really thought my skin had changed so much I would no longer be able to wear perfume. This is really beautiful. Byredo's G Water is my signature scent. It is one you can wear to work and no one will smell you unless they are very close. That's the way I like it because in general I do things for me and don't want to intrude on their space. I wear perfume for me. If I want someone to smell me I will bring them close to me. Otherwise, I don't want to smell your banger cologne either. The longevity on this perfume is poor. It doesn't matter if you apply half a bottle. It's going to be gone soon. I apply frequently and get an uplift by smelling it on my wrists. It's very calming scent. It's a good alternative for or a great addition to taking sedatives. I do think that the G word has become or always was an ethnic slur. Certainly in its verb form it is, but that's just me. And a ... MoreByredo's G Water is my signature scent. I wanted to love this perfume so much but it just doesn't smell great on me. I'm rubbish at describing perfume, but it basically starts with a musky note, it has a really complex and different dry down and then goes musky again on me. I also knew it didn't have the best throw or lasting power when I bought it but thought the scent would make up for it. Other reviewers suggested it lasted around 3 hours - it's probably around 1 for me. Loads of people absolutely love this perfume so I reckon its a me and my skin chemical thing but it doesn't smell like a premium perfume on me and is very subtle - give it a spray on yourself in store first and see how it wears before committing. I love Le Labo Santal 33 for reference.
I typically purchase very âcleanâ scents. (Dylan Blue by Versace or Freedom-Spirit) I wanted something different but still wanted to stay clear of musky or heavy woodsy scents. I had read reviews about Gypsy Water and most described it as a âuniqueâ scent. It is a unisex way de parfumerie. So, I threw the dice and purchased a bottle. It is unique. The best way is a little woodsy, fresh with just a hint of spice. Scents smell different on everyone, so this just my experience. I do get many, many compliments on it.
This is a really nice perfume - very light and fresh scent which is not overpowering and will suit everyone. It reminds me of lemon desserts in a summery nice way. however.... It doesn't last long (on me it lasts about 5-10 minutes). If you don't mind reapplying and staying power isn't a major concern for you, I say give it a go, as it is very wearable and nice... but if you want something to spray before work and walk out the door with assurance it will stay on, you will be disappointed. It's not cheap either and there are a lot of other perfumes with a better price tag. I do recommend this if you have the money, especially for the warmer months. Just dont expect it to last. Hope this helps.
It's difficult to describe but this perfume just smells like old money. It makes me think of a house with beautiful wooden floors, a decadent lounge room with a fireplace and old books lining the walls. It makes me think of an expensive liquor in a crystal glass, walking through a backyard orchard, a fancy leather bag (we all know the one I mean) and big fat diamond earrings. It's very strong so one spray works for me, but it lingers all day. I get many compliments on this and whenever my friends come over they always treat themselves to a spray. This would be a great occasion perfume but also if you're like me and like a little drama, this could also work as a daily.
