I’ve read a couple of reviews here saying this isn’t up to Byredo standards, but I think it has actually surpassed them. I use their shower gels on a regular bases but the perfumes have never sat on my skin in a pleasant way. My body chemistry has not previously mixed well with their scents. However, Young Rose has been a revelation. I got a free sample and then had to immediately buy a bottle. A friend described it as being very ‘come-hither’ and I think that’s very true, it’s pretty addictive. The results have been (fanning myself) remarkable. I also saw people commenting on the price, which doesn’t strike me as particularly unusual for 100ml. It also lasts a long time on my skin. In fact when I tried the sample I deliberately didn’t wash a patch of skin on my neck to see if it I could still smell it the next morning and I could. And although I probably wouldn’t be considered a ‘young rose’ it doesn’t matter as this is a really grown-up perfume. It’s not just light and airy, it has depth and packs an extremely delicate (because we’re roses) punch. With any perfume I would recommend getting hold of a sample or trying in store before buying a full size bottle.

Beautiful outer packaging and an elegant, simple bottle would make any Byredo perfume a lovely gift. This is a modern light rose with a musk base - not at all a traditional rose fragrance. It is very fresh and clean but unfortunately does not last long. Whilst I do not like to wear 'overwhelming' fragrances I do like to catch a hint of my perfume through the day. Lovely but not long lasting enough for me. I have other Byredo fragrances that 'wear' better and wonder if this is perhaps a formulation issue. Due to this would probably not repurchase even though I love the fragrance.

This is a rare rose fragrance in that it’s very airy, fresh and light. Nothing old fashioned or heavy about it, nor anything screechy. Just soft and pretty. I feel clean and refreshed when I wear it, and feminine. It isn’t overly sweet though there is musk and a bit of sharpness but it’s subtle. The airy aspect makes it unique, I read someone describing it as having a transparent quality and that makes sense. Lil Fleur is different, it’s stronger and more intense and zesty with its leather and tangerine. Lil Fleur has better staying power and projection I think, this one I have to spray every couple of hours but I don’t mind that as it’s so pretty and refreshing. I love it.
