After trying out Cafe Altura freeze-dried decaf version, I'm trying out this one which contains caffeine. Gotta say they both taste pretty similar. I don't get the high caffeine kick (palpitations, headaches, etc) from them which is awesome.Besides the awesome coffee taste, I love that it's organic, natural, high quality, and convenient to serve, I normally use 2 teaspoons in a cup serving. For a stronger taste, I would use 3 teaspoons.Compared to Mount Hagen decaf freeze-dried coffee, Cafe Altura freeze-dried coffee (with caffeine/decaf) wins in my book. Mount Hagen is just too bitter for me.

This is good! I have been using Starbucks instant coffee for coffee slushies and I thought it would be a good idea to try something organic! It has a good flavor for hot coffee too. Awesome! I love the fact that the grower uses rain water and is eco conscious in everything and fair trade oriented. I’m also happy to read that the farms are in Chiapas, Mexico. We need to trade more with our Mexican cousins!

There are many things that I like about this instant coffee product. The bottle design is elegant, and the cap is extremely easy to open and close. The full-bodied rich taste is strong, yet mellow, without any acidic overtones or traces of bitterness. I enjoyed this product so much that I consumed about four cups every day, and within a week the square jar was empty. This is a premium product, and although it is offered at a deep discount, it is still at a premium price point, although it compares favorably in taste with a number of other more modestly priced freeze-dried offerings, which I won't identify by name, but include familiar brands intended for the mass market, as well as a 100% Colombian private label freeze-dried store brand. I really like this coffee, and no doubt will also be back for more.

I tasted the dry granules which have a rich flavor, so the hot beverage should be good. I do think it's expensive, but I want organic coffee without the hassle of brewing and the need for filters & cone. Also I read that instant coffee contains less caffeine than coffee grounds, so that is a positive factor since my intent is to drastically reduce my caffeine consumption. I do not like any of the many decaffeinated coffees that I've tried. By switching from very strong coffee brews with cream & sugar to instant coffee taken "black" I now use much less coffee per mug as well as drinking smaller quantities. Hopefully I'll quit coffee altogether some day, but for now I've dramatically reduced my caffeine consumption without craving my morning coffee.
It has a bit of a bitter taste but it’s acceptable for me. I am surprised by the small amount needed. I doubled checked twice to confirm if it’s really just one to two teaspoons. A little really goes a long way!2021/10I changed my mind about this product. It’s sour on its own and it doesn’t go well with milk or soy milk at all. Unless you are a person who simply makes straight coffee, this is not for you.
I will agree with others, for an instant coffee this is the best that I have had. It is still instant but already I have enjoyed several cups in the afternoons and have found it good and satisfying, especially when I want something caffeinated, hot, but not tea. Packaging is a nice square, glass bottle with a lid that "pops" on and off. I am happy to have something convenient and tasty. (and organic!!!)
