We have lived on our boat in tropical areas for 15 years and would not be without one (or more!) of these Carframo fans. There are cheaper options around, but not as good by a long way.We also prefer this model to the Sirocco model as it is cheaper and has a better air flow. As it does not have to be hard wired in it means it is portable to different areas of your boat (or caravan)

I bought this for camping in our van, since it can get warm in there at times. I had an old 12V clip-on fan, but it had only one speed, which was too strong and made too much noise. This fan has two speeds, and both are quiet. I ended up buying the optional clip-on mounting bracket, instead of using the included suction cup or permanent mount. I think this will work well on camping trips this summer, and is smaller and quieter than my old one.

I have bought Caframo fans many times over the years - for every boat we have ever owned. They are fabulous - a perfect personal fan, utterly quiet, with a tiny power draw. We put them everywhere, and generally leave them running day and night. Don't bother with other brands, thinking these are expensive - Caframos are superior to anything else available.

I was a little afraid of using a fan without a guard, but the husband was insistent on giving it a go. It does put off a lot of breeze and easy to install. I accidentally got my fingers too close and was struck by the blade while turning it off and can verify it didn't hurt me. We used the fans on our sailboat and in our RV.
This is the perfect personal fan for keeping cool while caravaning around Ausy. The choice of fixed or suction cup mounting is convenient, and the two speed control allows for whisper quiet operation on speed one,or maximum cooling on speed two. Also with the fixed wall or ceiling mount, the fan can be easily fixed to push the air where it's needed, and the cigarette lighter plug makes for easy connection to 12 volts. This is a quality product and well worth the money.
Living in a small camper, we need good air circulation, without the noise of cheap-o fans. (We sleep, watch TV within a few feet of this thing) This fan, as advertised, is very quiet, and moves alot of air without high electricity usage. In our experience, they last about a year and half to two years before starting to crap out, then we buy a new one. That being said, the sound coming even an old Caframo fan is about 25% of that coming from a typical $10-$15 compact fan. Definitely recommend.
Maybe I got a lemon but this fan is Loud! There is an annoying sound that sounds like electronic motor friction (that shouldn't be there) and the casing of the fan it self vibrate, so much so you can see it move quite a bit. I was looking forward to a quite fan but this one is not it. Other than that the product feels very sturdy.
Very similar to the sirocco without the frame works extremely well and it is quiet. It cools the air especially at night . I wouldnt be without it.
This little fan puts out a good amount of air, we have used it on the boat in both the DC outlet at the Helm, and by using a DC to AC converter which allows for regular outlet plugin. Even with the converter it works great, and our guests that need a bit more airflow on calm days have been happy or the below deck areas that don't have a DC plugin I can use the fan without issues. It really moves a decent amount of air for how small it is and although touching the blades when spinning gives you a "jolt" its more of a surprise than hurting at all.(which has been a fun joke on the boat, me telling people to be careful or it'll "bite" you..)
I have two of these now, bought one of these many years ago, it moves a lot of air. I have not used the hard mount, I use the suction cup. A must have for hot weather. the new fan seems to have a better plug on it for the cig lighter. the older fan plug shorted out. I replaced it and works fine. These are a little noisey when used on high setting but I suppose all fans are. In my opinion, they are a little pricey at West Marine,paid aroud fifty dollars for it.
