DCP profile is a game changer

Best investment I've made under $100 for my photography. With the camera calibration software that you can download from their website, I was able to make a DCP profile that works in DxO Photolab and now my pictures look more alive. For some reason DxO has awful generic profiles for Panasonic Lumix Cameras, but the DCP profile restores the real colors and even opens up the image a little. Skies look more saturated with deeper blues, skin tones look right, without magenta-ish tones, and pinks and reds look proper now. The thing is, no matter how much I tried, in DxO I just couldn't get the colors I wanted, especially with skin tones. So be very careful with it. I will look into getting a sort of case for it, which I'm sure the more expensive bigger brothers of this color checker come with.

Good Color, Too Fragile

I have the mini, which is a great color card - BUT the huge down side is that it is not rigid. It’s essentially made of heavy paper. That means that even when stored safely and flat in a bag, it can bend or crease very easily. Something at this price point should be less fragile. Look for something more affordable that will last longer.

Perfect but micro tiny

This is a great chart made by a great company. Just make sure you read the fine print as it's very small. I knew it was smaller than a regular color chart (obviously mini is in the name), but what I didn't consider was when shooting multiple cameras not very close to the chart, it's very difficult to get a clear read in color due to the size. I was lured in by the low price and ease of packing it with the gear. It works fine, just not so convenient on set.

Really helps with accuracy

Really good to have if you care about colors being accurate! Snap a quick photo, follow the instructions in the software which is really easy to use and it has helped my photos look much closer to reality. It is crazy how off certain colors are. I use it with Capture One 22 so it creates a custom Camera Profile to use with editing. It took a little bit to get used to but it is WELL WORTH IT.

better for something else

I initially bought this to help calibrate a scanner, but this would probably work better for camera work.
