Beautifully Creamy… I started on oat milk as an alternative for health reasons. I’ve tried all of them except this one. Upon trying it on offer, I must say it is definitely the best! It’s so creamy and delicious in porridge or cereal or on its own. Works fantastically in coffee, half oat milk half boiled water from coffee machine, yummy! I found I didn’t need a saccharin as it was kind of sweet-ish which is a big bonus. I am very particular with my oat milk. It’s great Asda has different offers each week so I’m able to try them all and switch around when offers are available. It also has a long life.

I'm not sure what happened, but I've been buying this milk for 2+ years, and in the last few months every carton I buy tastes disgusting (best way I can describe it is oat-y - just like, for example, Califia's regular oat milk). I've noticed this is consistent with every carton that says 'Made in Canada' at the top. All (older) cartons that DO NOT say 'Made in Canada' taste normal.I'm guessing Califia changed their factory which has resulted in this terrible change.I'm very upset too because no other brand comes close to producing the same great foam texture (Oatly included!). Minor Figures I guess is the closest, for anyone looking.Dear Califia: PLEASE fix this and go back to the way you were making this milk before!

I've been using Califia Farms Oat Barista Blend for about a year. When it's made well, it's great! One of the few non-dairy creamers without sugar and a really nice creamer consistency. Just love it. However, I've noticed that sometimes it has an offensive taste that reminds me of cardboard. What's the deal? Why the variation? It's disappointing and costs way too much to toss so I'm taking it back to the store.

Is it a Creamer or a Milk?
22 June 2022

I don't regularly drink milk nor do I drink tea or coffee. So when I do it's probably in some sort of healthier cereal which is still rare. But I've been pushing away from cows milk and don't love the taste of almond. I found this and I loved that it was in a smaller container. Anyways, as I'm enjoying my cereal I remembered that I picked this up in the creamer section. Am I eating my cereal with creamer? I checked the ingredients and the regular oat milk has some more ingredients than this barista blend. Anyways, it tastes fantastic. It's not thick. Very smooth taste. But can this be used as a regular milk?

Lovely & Creamy
6 April 2023

I'm a bit fussy when it comes to plant based milk and only drink the oat milks. Even then, I dislike some brands and generally stick to 'Oatly Barista'. However this 'Califia Farm Oat Barista Blend' is delicious; hot or cold. It's creamy and doesn't curdle in hot water. It tastes great in tea or coffee and on cereal. I am happiest when it's on offer at £1.50 and stock up. Plant milks really shouldn't cost more than that in my opinion!

Old favorite now undrinkable

I started buying this barista blend oat milk several ago after asking my favorite coffee shop what specific product they’d used in my (delicious) latte. Nearly every day since then I’ve consumed it either at home (steamed as well as over ice on warm days) or at said cafe. I’ve almost always purchased for home from Whole Foods (both in store and via Whole Foods/Amazon (local) grocery delivery. A few weeks ago, I noticed it smelled ā€œoffā€ (or different from usual) when I opened a carton. I figured it was a fluke and tossed it. Bought new one few days later, and on opening discovered same smell. I tried a small sip and it didn’t taste good. Bought new one few days later, and on opening discovered same smell. I tried a small sip and it didn’t taste good. Today I was super excited to visit my coffee shop so I could have a ā€œgoodā€ calfia barista blend oatmilk latte, figuring my recent bad milk experiences were due to user error on my part. When I got my steamy perfect- looking latte I was shocked to take a sip and gag. The taste was terrible. I brought it back to my regular barista and asked if they’d started using a different kind or brand of oat milk — he showed me the califia barista blend oat milk carton he’d used, the same as always and told me how he’d been disappointed to be unable to drink his favorite morning drink with it himself also! He said the flavor has ā€œjust changed or somethingā€ or it was a ā€œbad batchā€ as all the cartons they’ve had this last week have been the same. I’m very disappointed to say that I can’t buy or recommend this product until/unless the change is addressed and a resolution communicated (& of course identifiably good cartons are back out in the market). I’ve been happy paying a premium for what was an amazingly good product; I’m not willing to spend that money just buying different cartons hoping one of them might be newly corrected or from a ā€œgoodā€/older batch. Very disappointed loyal fan & customer here.

Recipe Changed
3 October 2022

I love this product usually but one day I opened a carton and poured it in my coffee and choked. It had this horrible taste like there was a few drops of fingernail polish inside. I figured it was a bad batch and bought more from a different store. The new carton was fine so I let it go. A few cartons later I got another one with the fingernail polish taste. It took awhile but I finally narrowed down that it’s the cartons that say ā€œMade in Canadaā€ on top that have the horrible taste. They appear to be the newer batches. I don’t know if it’s one particular plant that is using a different recipe or if that is going to be the new normal but whatever is going on, PLEASE make it stop. The original taste is delicious. Staybawau from canadian batches
9 January 2023

First batch I purchased last week was amazing. I was feeling like a barista with my new Nespresso machine. Went back to repurchase and made my drink excitedly this morning. First sip, I could have spit it out!!! It tasted like someone had watered down play dough and put it in my drink. Went and grabbed the other bottomless our other recycling bin to see if the recipe had changed and it hadn’t. Read others reviews about batches from Canada tasting awful. My new batch is from Canada and the last one was not. Be careful and do not purchase any from Canada. The taste is bad enough to make you gag.

The only milk alternative I'm interested in
23 January 2023

Simply the best. I cannot rate this highly enough. I tried multiple varieties of oat, almond, pea, cashew, soy and hazelnut etc. milk and still I found them all lacklustre in things like tea and cereal or to use for cooking recipes, most were fine in coffee and that was it. But this is the chosen one. I rave about it to everyone, and multiple people I know have started buying this from my recommendation. Finding this made eliminating dairy milk very easy. Please always stock and please Califia Farms dont ever change this!!!

Whyyyyyyy did you change the recipe, lost a customer for life
20 October 2022

Yuck recipe change?? Why do you mess with the recipe šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜ this was my go to oat milk, and I was already annoyed w the fact that some cartons froth and some don’t , and then Califa decides to change the recipe. Every carton that I have gotten stamped without the Canada stamp have been good, this week I had the Canada batch. The oat taste is so so overwhelming you can’t taste anything else. It’s disgusting! Then I tried it again hoping maybe it was a bad batch but I’d rather stop drinking coffee altogether then drink this nastiness. Sorry you lost a devoted customer for messing with something that was perfect!
