I think when it comes to videogame campaigns, more recent entries to the genre can come up with new spins on the formula, smooth gameplay, and newer, better ideas, but for me, MW2 stands as the best. The game drops you into a massive, multi-set piece chaos lightning-in-a-bottle conflict that sadly only lasts a few hours. The story-telling and levels are great and not to be missed, but what really puts this game above others in my eyes is the core characters. Price, Soap, Nikolai, Ghost, Dunn, Foley- they're all characters you learn to love and to fight for, over the course of this game and the first modern warfare, and it really pushes the narrative drive through all the explosions and crazy gunfights- I found the last level all the more frantic and emotional ... If you're just buying this game for the campaign then go right ahead and drop the money. But for everyone else, this game is terrible. The multi-player is an absolutely miserable experience that wouldn't recommend to even my worst enemy. The skill based matchmaking absolutely destroys this game. Infinity Ward took a good concept and changed it for the sake of change. There was nothing wrong with the old pick 10 system. They only changed it as an attempt to nerf good players.Dead Silence is a field upgrade, not a perk. Yet another gameplay element that everybody wanted addressed, yet gets completely ignored by Infinity ward. This is another attempt to nerf the rushing playstyle that alot of the more skilled players like to use.In closing, please don't buy this. Infinity Ward has once again proven their incompetence. They continue to ignore fan feedback from the more dedicated players and just focus on catering to the new ones.MWII is the last call of duty until 2024. I HIGHLY recommend using the next 2 years to find something new to play and skip this trash. There are far better multi-player games out there that are made by developers that actually listen to their playerbase.

I'd wait for a sale where the price drops to under 20 dollars before buying; or, if the game gets a substantial overhaul and increase in content, as well as fixes/changes, I'd buy for 40. But as it stands now, you are better off playing other games.

I’ll focus on mutliplayer since most people will be buying the game for that purpose… honestly, I absolutely DESPISE Activision for even patenting an algorithm that is Skill Based Match Making. It was present in the 2019 MW but it’s even worse in the 2022 MW2. If you have ANY skill at all in shooting game, the system outright PUNISHES you for performing well. Say you end a game with a k/d record of 20-10. Well, your next get harder and you’ll probably end at 20-15. The more you continue to do even decent, the more aggressive the algorithm gets. Eventually you’ll be thrown into lobbies with kids that haven’t showering since the game launched and they’re easily 2-4x your rank. They know ALL the glitches, EVERY eploit, EVERY spawn, EVERY objective location, and they’re probably using equipment and gear that gives them an advantage against most peoples. Especially those of us that actually WORK for a living. Usually, games 1-3 are fine. You’ll do fine. You’ll REALLY start to FEEL the system clenching down games 4-5 and beyond. You’ll spawn and die NUMEROUS times. You can’t even look around a corner because some kid is already scoping that corner with a meta weapon that you have absolutely no chance against. And before you know it, you’re sitting at k/d record of 4-15 and you’ll most likely quit and throw your controller at something. THAT is MW2 in a nutshell…. Have fun!!
Garbage. This game came out in October of 2022 and I bought for Christmas 2023. The physical disc only have enough info to prompt the system (PS5) to down load the full game. Only issue is greedy activision doesn’t let you download this version, you have to download the current MW3. Then you have to search to find this version which I already paid for and download it as an extension. Gone are the days of getting a game on a cd and playing it off the cd. This is just a straight money grab. Funny that BB just sent this email to review because after fighting with it for the last 3 days, I decided to return it today. Pure junk.
Idk where to begin, but ill just point out what stood out from all the other call of duty games.-Time to kill extremely fast. If you don’t have your gun up first, or use attachments to have to draw the fastest, you’re probably gonna lose that gunfight-scorestreaks can be toggled from killstreaks, BUT you can only earn that scorestreak once per life-Attachments: once an attachment is unlocked for a gun, it is unlocked for ALL GUNS. Ex: red dot site unlocked from a shotgun, will be unlocked for all guns (once they reach their specific gun level)-Guns: They made a “gun tree” type of thing where you need to level up a certain gun to a certain level to UNLOCK a different gun, and you have to level THAT GUN to a certain level to UNLOCK THAT GUN. Some guns aren’t like this, but there are a hand full of guns that do this. Many prerequisites to unlock a specific gun. There’s more to this, but OVERALL, my personal experience is that I really like the game, even though sometimes I wanna throw the controller at the screen from BS, it’s a great game.
If infinity ward would actually listen to people this could be the best cod weve had since maybe black ops 2 days, unfortunately the company could care less so If you liked the extreme camp fest that was modern doorfare 2019 youll probably like this garbage. Honestly the games got good roots. Guns feel great, sound great and graphics are good. However its buggy, the company only wants to cater to bad players hense the extreme S.B.M.M. And unreasonably loud footsteps. Call of duty will never be as good as it used to be at this rate and it seems like most new age grass touchers like thier games to be a handholding experience. If youre a fan of older skillful cod or are remotely competent at the game this aint it cheif. The game literally punishes players for getting ... This is a Hard pass.
I think it's pretty easy to know what to expect from a Call of Duty game. MWII is a lot better than some past titles (*cough* Vanguard *cough*), but at the end of the day it's call of duty. If you like running around a map shooting people, then you'll like this. The weapon customization is a lot of fun. (Even though it's free) DMZ is a *ton* of fun, but gets boring after your 100th round and is very frustrating when you die and lose all your equipment. It's a good way to break up the usual multiplayer rut when you've been playing all day on your only day off because you have depression and don't want to leave the house. Surprisingly, with the exception of a few incredibly racist 12 year olds, I've found the community to be generally pretty good. I've even made a few ... Surprisingly, with the exception of a few incredibly racist 12 year olds, I've found the community to be generally pretty good. I've even made a few friends on DMZ that I play with occasionally <3 (Granted, of course, this is my personal experience and I may have just lucked out and not encountered The Bad Section of the community) There are Microtransactions but it's all for skins and weapon blueprints. Nothing feels ~ unfair ~ or manipulative about them. I've seen complaints on Reddit about the quality of the Live Service aspect and the amount of maps. I will agree that they haven't introduced a lot of new maps or weapons, which is very disappointing. If that's an issue for you, do some google searches and see if it's enough to the point that matters. Overall, it's fun. It's Call of Duty. Play the game. Shoot peeps. Get camos. Win.
Modern warfare 2019 was a surprise modern call of duty that intitiated the overall gameplay design for todays CoD’s. The movement is great and graphifslly it looks phenomenal. I have only focussed on the multiplayer aspect of the title. They havr overhauled weapon and attachment progression to which i like and dislike. Locking weapon unlocks to progression of different weapons I believe is a nice change, encouraging diversity. However, attachments become a grind having to level up a wide array of guns to a minimum level solely for a red dot sight for example. The time to kill (ttk) and skill based matchmaking (sbmm) make this game both fun and frustrating. You die quickly and are constantly being placed in lobbies of same caliber. “Get good” is the most common quote ... Good Points: Graphics are top notch. The campaign as always, is big budget set pieces woven together to form a typical COD narrative. Very fun to play through. They've changed movement up just enough to keep things fresh and overall the game feels a lot more tactical and discourages sprinting around the map (which I believe is a good thing). The multiplayer is great, I expect to be playing this for the next year or twoImprovement Points: There are the usual glitches and omissions we've come to expect from modern triple A releases. There's no Barracks for checking stats, the custom creat a class feature has a bug that prevents you from tinkering with your load out while searching for a game.
