I'm a senior golfer who has lost driver distance over the years. I went to a local pro club fitter who evaluated my swing and current driver and I wasn't surprised when he said I no longer had the swing speed for the shaft I was using. I opted to look at new clubs instead of re-shafting my 5 year old Titleist. He said there have been some significant changes in newer driver technology that could help my game. He wasn't wrong. Yesterday I hit 13 of 14 fairways and averaged 15 more yards than I did with my old driver. The best part about using this club is that I have total confidence in every swing.

The lighter grey smoke is fine, I guess, but, for me, not as pleasing.Distance: When I'm swinging well and hitting on or near the sweet spot, there is very little difference between the two, which is what you'd expect because all the top drivers have limited that out to the legal limit. Off centre hits, though? Well, that's a whole different thing with this club.Forgiveness: This is where the Smoke really shines. I have never experienced a more dramatic change in the level of forgiveness between models as I have this year. What the Smoke lacks in sound and feel is more than made up for in how straight it goes from anywhere on the face. Heel shots start left then fade back to the middle. Toe shots start right then come back to the middle. I lose maybe 10-15 yards on mishits, but they're almost magically straight. Conclusion: Not the best looking or the best sounding driver Callaway has ever made, but head and shoulders above the rest for forgiveness. And that, for me, at my age, is everything!

Bought this as a replacement for my Epic Speed. Wanted the neutral settings so that I can work it both ways when I want, plus the added forgiveness of the new technology in the face. This club did not disappoint in the least. Very easy to hit draws or fades. I can also hit it up, or keep it low. Definitley noticed the distance advantages on my mishits as well. The balance in the club is great. I can feel the head, without it dominating the swing. I feel like its the kind of club that works well for a seasoned player like me, but would still help someone higher on the handicap range. I definitely recommend this one.

Awesome Driver
1 May 2024

Bought it a month ago. Upgrading from BB B21. I tried the driver multiple times using simulator. Of course simulator is perfect conditions and results were quite extraordinary. So I compared it with my current driver and decided to purchase. Driving range was good and then first round was good but as ii have player more, it impressed me a lot. Definitely more forgiving and the sound is awesome when you strike the ball. I would saying added yardage to my drive and the drives are really cool. I have been hitting a beautiful controlled fade which I like.

Had mine custom fit at the store. what a great process. this is my third Driver from callaway. Ive liked them all but this one is special. I've only got two hours of swinging it. but it was a full two hours of nothing but this club and i just love it. the adjustablity of the club with its sliding weight and adjustable hozzle on the shaft truly makes it a swiss arm knife. I'm hitting it farther then either of my other two Drivers by about 8 yards. the feel of it and the sound . i just would'nt buy anything else this will be my Driver for years to come.

Callaway - Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke MAX Driver
16 May 2024

This driver has helped me get much more straighter hits. I guess I would say it has help with my massive slice. I have put the weight on the heel side and hit regular and now I am getting a straighter shot. It does not fix everything, you need to still work on technique. But if you do not watch it you will be hitting a hook and then trying to fix something else. Distance has added about 30 - 40 yards to my drive when I get a solid straight hit.

Didn’t think it was possible!

I purchased the Max D a little over a month ago and I can tell you that it has definitely improved my driving ability. Not only has it straightened out my drive for the most part, but also added between 20 - 30 yards on my drives. When I started out driving my golf partner by that distance he was highly impressed by the improvement of my drives. I fill this has been a great investment. With the extra yardage I am able to get to the greens and reduce the number of shots to finish the hole. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I love it.
4 June 2024

I love this driver. First of all, it's lighter than the Epic max I had before, and with the R2 shaft I got it with, it's perfect for me. I've read a review by someone who was disappointed because no matter how he adjusted it, he still fades. Well, my friend, it's your swing, not the club.AND, what Callaway says about mishits is true. Even the toe and heel hits tend to stay in play. You know, I liked this driver so much tha tI went out and bought the three wood, and love that too.

Love its forgiveness
16 July 2024

This driver is pretty forgiving. Despite no warmup whatsoever, my slices/really bad shots from my first round with it weren't bad, and they didn't happen as often - maybe two poor drives that still stayed in play. But more often than not, my drives were either straight or a slight fade. It was also pretty consistent, distance-wise. According to the sims, it was maybe slightly longer than my previous Cobra driver but where I've really noticed a significant distance is on the poor shots!

Spin killer
22 February 2024

Upgraded to this driver from the Taylor Made M6. My driver has always been the worst club in my bag…not any more. The use of technology is great…normal carry used to be 240; now it’s 260. Hit a drive off the toe that would normally put so much side spin, I would lost the ball 40 yards to the right and yet I still got 250 carry and still in the fairway. Spin rate dropped from around 4000 to consistently being under 2000. And I haven’t even dialed in the adjustable weight so it’s only going to get better. Looking forward to finally breaking 80 on a consistent basis.
