Camille Rose Curl Maker 355 ml

First of all, the packaging on the travel size gets a 0/10 from me. Terrible. The gel is very thick and the bottle is made of very stiff plastic. It was next to impossible to get anything out while styling in the shower. Even depotting it into an empty container was a pain and heavily gravity assisted. The full size has a pump, which hopefully works better. However, I don’t care for the thick texture and the scent is only okay. As far as curl enhancing goes it did okay, but over liked other options better. All in all, a miss for me and I’m glad I only bought the travel size (despite the awful packaging).

3B hair is now bouncier then ever !

Camille rose is the best thing I’ve come across in a long time. I have 3B hair with high porosity fine hair. I used to use shea moisture and noticed my hair would be dry and heavy with product weighing down my curls. I team this with the coconut water leave in. It gives me lovely defined curls which last for days. This gel is easy to scrunch in and doesn’t leave hair crispy. Gives great hold without flaking too. Usually only get these results with super pricey products like Moroccan oil. Can’t wait to try their cleanser now!

Ewww!

I absolutely hated this stuff. I used the curl maker in combination with the Camille Rose honey hydrate leave-in. My hair initially felt soft the first day or two then seemed to get pretty dry. This stuff FLAKED like crazy. I thoroughly clarified my hair before using it and when I tell you I was VERRRRY light handed with the product… I was VERY light handed, yet and still it flaked like mad. When I parted my hair to restyle I found disgusting spots of glob and tiny little balls of the product all throughout my hair. The site of it made me gag and almost throw up. It was so disgusting. Back to Target this goes! I bought this in the past and disliked it so I thought I’d give it another chance and this time I HATE it! Never again.

Fine-haired curly girl approved!

I'm a white lady with super fine, low-density, high-porosity 2C-3B waves and curls. After a year of doing CGM, my hair is pretty healthy, but because it's so fine, it's hard to find products that have enough hold without weighing it down. I wanted to try Curl Maker because it's glycerin-free, which I need for my porosity. It took me a few tries to figure out how to use it, but I really like it! I find I need to use more product than expected, even on my short bob, and only on sopping wet hair (I had to emulsify any additional product with water while styling). I also felt like it might have made my hair a little greasy, but I could have been due for a wash day, too. Anyway, I hope my detailed review helps other people with my (frustrating) hair type. :)

Great jelly-gel! :)

I've been using this gel with the Camille Rose Coconut Water Leave-In, and my curls came out great! A soft jelly, but on that still had a good hold. I live in humid climate, and it did really good! Gave a bit of shine as well. It is very concentrated for my fine hair, so a little with some water goes a long way, and the bottle lasted me for multiple months. :)The only con: The smell is kind of a lemon-y(?) kind of sour smell, so not my favorite smell of the Camille Rose line. (Their other products like the CR Algae Deep Conditioner, CR Moisture Milk, CR Coconut Leave-In, Conditioner, etc, usually smell more sweet, and some smell like cupcake batter or fruity cereal.)

Learning to love it

I have waves from 2A to 2C. I purchased this product about 8 months ago when I quit straightening my hair. I thought I needed a gel and was looking for something with hold.At first, I loved the way it clumped my waves, but it never gave me much hold, and my waves would fall flat throughout the day. I figured it was too heavy for my hair and stopped using it except on occasion when layering with other products just to switch up my routine.Fast forward to the past few weeks, I was trying to use up some of the bottles in my graveyard of hair products and started treating this product as a curl cream. The bottle actually doesn't say anywhere that it's a gel, but a "defining jelly," despite the listing of it being a gel on the Ulta website. I layer this jelly on top of a small amount of primer/detangler/leave-in conditioner and top it off with the Camille Rose spiked honey foam, and I am having the best hair days of my entire modified CG life!This gel has a very light, faint smell. The pump bottle is fantastic and makes it really easy to distribute on my hands. It gives my hair a nice slip and a little goes a long way. If you have this product and are disappointed in the lack of hold, try it as a curl cream!

Love this jelly (and the Camille Rose brand overall)! :) It is very silky and was easy to apply. I live in a humid area, and this (with the Camille Rose coconut water leave-in underneath) made my curls last for a good long while and beautifully defined!It's concentrated and a chunky bottle, so a little goes a long way.Very minor cons: This works best with wet hair, or otherwise, it gets a bit sticky. I also didn't love the smell as much as I did with the other CR products.Overall, this jelly was great for my hair, can last for a while, and gave great definition to my curls. Highly recommend! :D

The BEST for 3C curls!!

If you're like me, you've struggled to find a hair product that is at once moisturizing, curl-defining, not made from harsh chemicals, and doesn't smell bad. This product does all of that and more. I think I'm addicted to it! It's quite expensive so I can't use it daily, but it is definitely my go-to for any day that I want to wear my curls down instead of in the ever-damaging bun/ponytail. The smell is great, the product slips easily through my hair and it's easy enough to rinse out without having to do a full wash. It feels a little dry when applying, but trust the process! I usually take a bit more care when I stye with this as I find it's best to part and work in sections so you can get as much saturation with as little product as possible. I wanted to love this so much more. using this gel i feel like I'm feeding my hair juicy nutrients. it smells amazing has amazing h slip and great consistency thr only con for me was the hold. I had zero hold and unfortunately I can't have that in my styling. I need a good medium hold. I didn't want to return it because I lived everything wise about it but I Sisto didn't want it sitting there either. camile please use this exact recipe but just a stronger hold pleaseee. if u need it love a light hold this is the gel for u 100% Hair reference 3b/3c low porosity virgin hair

great product, terrible packaging

I'm very happy with this gel and would recommend it to anybody that styles their Curls.
