For the price and quality I highly recommend Camp Chef ovens. Especially since there is not another 14" shallow available. Efficient they work every time.

Haven't had a chance to use it yet. I have two Lodge dutch ovens that I've had for years. I want to try Camp Chef simply because I feel Lodge is vastly over priced. My inspection of the Camp Chef out of the box, indicates that sides and bottom are uniform thickness, lid is perfect fit all of the way around, bail handle is heavy gauge and legs are uniform. I am pretty confident that it will perform as well as the more expensive dutch ovens. Also, this product has good reviews from actual users.

I got this dutch oven a few weeks ago. I went camping with my daughter, and used it over the fire to cook some slow simmered beef vegetable stew. It cooked evenly without burning while suspended above coals. I had it about 30 cm above, but it has the 3 peg feet to allow for cooking with coals directly under. I plan to to make a pot of southern black eyed peas, and many other things. I like that I can put coals on the lid to brown top of food. This is very durable. It will be in the family for generations- good value for sure.Due to its solid weight, you won't use it for backpacking without a horse :)For this item, heavy is what I want, so I can't consider the weight as a con.

Would definitely recommend Camp Chief Dutch Ovens to a friend! They are high quality, cook great and are very reasonable priced. We liked them so much we bought 2 more (different sizes) for larger outdoor cooking parties. You won't regret purchasing any of these products. Sportsman's Warehouse provided easy shopping, fast shipping and outstanding customer service.
I purchased this item at our local Runnings store. I was disappointed to see the current version does NOT have a pronghorn on it. I did cross reference the model numbers and SKU numbers and they did match this item. Otherwise the quality is as expected. I was hoping to purchase a dutch oven which had some unique and distinguishing elements on it to keep it identifiable from others when we go camping in large groups and others have brought theirs along as well. I do not anticipate it will affect the performance of this item but I was disappointed.
I am really pleased with my Camp Chef 10" inch Classic Dutch Oven, so pleased that I plan to also buy a 12" inch model to go with it. I especially like the thermometer notch that they added to the lid portion and the way it seals by rotating the lid when not in use. (Those were not featured on the old Dutch Ovens when I was a kid, back in the early '60s). I like that feature.
We love this little Dutch oven. Even though it claims to be pre-seasoned, I wanted to make sure it was seasoned well. When it came, I realized it really was pre-seasoned. It works GREAT!! We have made all kinds of deserts, corn bread, and biscuits in it. No sticking and easy cleaning! Well worth the price. I would highly recommend it! Happy cooking!
I hadn't placed a review till I had time to really test this dutch oven out. I have to say it's one of my favorites. The oven is nice and big with plenty of room to make a lot of food. First outing was a cub scout summer trip. This oven along with some others smaller dutch ovens feed the boys and their family's real well. I've cooked biscuits & gravy, upside down pizza, cookies and cobbler without issue. Quick cleanup and little prep to get to using it right out of the box. I've dutch oven cooked for years and this is my first "big" oven and I must say I really like this one. Like I said before this is one of my favorites.
First cast-iron Dutch Oven. This thing is great! We've baked biscuits, a cake, and cooked chicken in it so far and the taste is excellent, clean up is simple (as long as you follow the directions) and it was easy to use.The book that comes with it has good info in it.Worth the money in my opinion.
Very well made with all the featuresyou need in a Dutch ovenLegs allow you to position coals under - while lid lip holds coals in place on topThermostat hole can be positioned to vent steam to reduce moisture if neededWell made by a reputable companyI would buy again
