Canningvale Sheet Set - Charcoal Melange, Queen, Cotton

Having been happy with towels we bought from Canningvale, we decided to try the vintage soft wash cotton sheetsFirstly, Canningvale does not disclose the thread count which would be good information to have.While the sheets are soft, the colour is not what we expected (we understand that viewing colours online is not an accurate representation of the actual item) and had we saw these sheets in store, we wouldn’t have chosen them. There is nothing remarkable about the quality. In fact, the sides are very deep and the elastic not very tight which means the fitted sheet does not have that taught crispness but is wrinkled. Our bed is quite deep so I can only assume that this is an issue with the sheets.An average product, glad we purchased when on sale.

These are singehandedly the worst sheets I've purchased in 15 years.First of all - they are incredibly thin. So thin that the white variation is semi transparent and will show any pattern, stain or discolouration underneath on your pillow and mattress/protector.Secondly - They are heavily pilled immediately on first use. Proper care was taken to wash and prepare them for first use as per the supplied instructions. However within a few days there was heavy pilling over the majority of the sheets where contact is made. Same for the pillow cases. I've never experienced this with any sheet, and if I have its been gradual over years and to the point of being unnoticeable.And finally - so much static! This was my third set of these sheets and although my first set was a bit scratchy after many many washes there were great so I bought another set. My second set was great after one wash! Recently bought my third set and VERY disappointed! These ones will take ages to become soft but I can cope with that, the length of the flat sheet is 500mm shorter that previous sheets so there is hardly anything to tuck in at the bottom!!! Also I noticed some very poor stitching on this sheet. Generally I have loved the quality of my Canningvale sheets but not this set!!

I can only thank Canningvale for an excellent customer experience. If you ask me about bamboo sheets, I have a divided opinion. On the one hand, they are extremely comfortable and luscious of feel. On the other hand, they crease easily, and need to be ironed, and they also stain easily. In our semi-tropical climate, we perspire and they loose their fresh look easily. Strong cotton fares better, but does not have the same silky, comfortable feeling. If I had an army of little helpers, bamboo every time. But I do my own work, so I am cautious. Thank you canningvale for treating me very well.

These flannelette sheets team beautifully with the CoziCotton Flannelette Quilt Cover. They're super soft and oh so cozy and warm! Made from beautiful thick cotton (not too heavy though!) with a lovely brushed feel. Gone are the days where new flannelette deposited fluff on everything until MANY washes later. These washed up beautifully (no fluff left behind in the washing machine either!). The fitted sheet has good quality elastic and is a perfect cut so you don't have a tug-of-war whilst fitting it to the mattress. Again, loved the re-usable flannelette satchel the sheets were packaged in. Nice to see Canningvale avoiding plastic where possible. I'm creative, so will use it for something (in the laundry, bathroom, bedroom, etc). It's so annoying when you research for great quality linen, pay big bucks, and then get sub-par linen. So many companies spending to much money on hype marketing instead of quality and workmanship of products. Canningvale had very good prices (even better on sale) and the sheet set purchased was the softest we have had yet, and getting softer. It feels very clean and soft after every wash getting into bed, not dry and harsh like previous brands. Shipping was fast and well packaged, but most importantly, they talked themselves up, and delivered in quality. If they keep this quality and service, then they have a customer for life. The wife and I are very pleased.

I really really don't like these sheets. The positives - they are what was described (my fault for not really considering that...); the service was incredible and they arrived super quickly. But they are soft. And when I say soft I mean feather like, you don't even feel like they are there. Which some people may enjoy - if so, please jump in and buy them in bulk! But I have now discovered that, while I like a soft fabric against my skin to sleep, I like to feel the sheet there as a layer between me and the doona. Or on hot nights, instead of a doona. I thought that they might be good on hot nights, but I just find them unpleasantly clingy and hard to control - they end up at the bottom of the bed when I turn over and it's not fun to wrestle them back to the top ... MoreI really really don't like these sheets. My dachshund who sleeps with me thinks that is the best fun ever, and it's a great tug-of-war - but I'm not as crazy about this game as he is at 3 am. These sheets crease like crazy and it looks like the bed hasn't been made/changed in forever the moment you put them on after washing. I love to fold down my doona during the week and just have the sheets on display but I can't do it with these as it's a wrinkle-fest and looks like I am in a sharehouse. I think they are a great idea in theory, but when it comes to reality I think I will just revert to high thread count sheets that make the bed look special when made up, and that feel cool and comfortable against the skin.

Unfortunately these are cheap for a reason (although definitely not the cheapest i've tried before). They are the most uncomfortable sheets i have ever slept on. They are very "scratchy" and actually painful to lay on, picture trying to sleep on a hessian bag. I thought it may just be that they need another wash, as i know linen gets softer with each wash, so i re-attempted to sleep on them after a second and third wash and they did not change at all. I spoke to customer support and they gave me a set of washing instructions that included baking soda and vinegar which i happily did. After all, i'd spent the money, i might as well try. Pay that little bit extra and get some quality linen sheets that are soft and nice to sleep on as they should be.

I bought them after reading the reviews on here that they were soft and get softer with every wash. I washed them and hung them out to dry. Eagerly waiting for them to dry. They still felt scratchy when I held them up to my face. I washed them another 3 times and they still felt scratchy. I put them on my bed, tried them out and jumped straight off. So super scratchy. I contemplated returning them but I’ve washed them 4 times already. I warned my husband and he said at least you can scratch an itch with them. My doona cover is fine and felt softer when I opened it. Got this sheet set in April 2021. The sheets are still soft. No lint balls or piling yet despite frequent use. I love the sateen weave of this Alessia sheet set. It feels soft and silky to the skin. I find that this are suitable for summer as they feel cool. However, in winter, unfortunately, this feels cool and is insufficient. You’ll have to opt for thicker sheets, fabric type, or combine this with a quilt or warm mattress topper which can provide better warmth during extremely chilly winter nights/ mornings. Nevertheless, the product, delivery and customer service was highly satisfactory.
