The lens was a graduation gift for my Senior graduating daughter. I gave it to her before she left a Senior class trip to Arizona. The one thing she commented the most about was how she could zoom and the pictures had excellent clarity. It was this lens or the Canon 55-200 but I liked the idea of the 18-150 lens being more of an all around lens without having to switch lenses. Very happy with the purchase.

Perfect, compact wide lens for travel kit to complement a longer zoom. The Canon M series cameras and lenses are ideal as a lightweight but fully featured travel kit with picture quality to stand with the best. VideoPro was excellent to deal with as ever!

In truth, this lens really deserves 4.5 stars. Rated on value for the money, this lens is a solid 5 stars. It's a great companion to the M series, is well balanced, and much lighter to carry around all day than Canon's more pro models that can be used on M series bodies with an adapter. As for quality of the glass, mechanics, flare, and long term durability, the lens is more like 4 stars. I got this lens in a kit that matched it with the M5, a model now discontinued by Canon. Working with the M5's 24.2mp sensor, it does an adequate job. I would not expect it to be able to resolve anything much larger than that. The variable maximum aperture isn't an issue, however you should keep in mind that your maximum aperture at 70mm and up is f/6.3. The variable maximum aperture isn't an issue, however you should keep in mind that your maximum aperture at 70mm and up is f/6.3. You're going to want to boost ISO for handheld shots in low light. Vignetting is evident at all aperture settings but is only really seen in RAW because jpg images are fixed automatically. Flare can be a problem, and Canon doesn't supply a lens hood with your purchase which is a shame; an optional lens hood is available. The lens isn't weather sealed in any way, and the front carriage extends quite a bit at maximum telephoto. That means there's the potential for dust to be drawn in. I would suggest that you be rather careful when dust and sand is being blown around. Sadly, Canon chose to use a plastic lens mount instead of metal (brass would have been ideal). Maybe the logic is that the focal range of this lens is so useful that most people will never want to take it off. Over time and hard use, metal always wins over plastic.

This is the third lens that I purchased for my new M6 II. I am sidelining the kit lens (15-45mm) because with this lens 18-150mm and the 11-22mm that I purchased, I can cover 99% of my photo needs. This lens performs extremely well for me. I shoot mainly landscape and wildlife so the f/3.5-6.3 suites my needs perfectly. I do wish that the lens lock was a friction lock not a single click lock. I find the lock mechanism to be very cumbersome. The fact that it locks out as well as in is also a concern (potential stove pipe damage. This lens is amazingly lite and tac sharp. The first thing I did was to compare this to my big 5Dsr and I was shocked at how little difference there was in image quality. I would highly recommend this lens to anyone. Purchased this lens as my daily use lens as I had two kit lenses that came with the Canon M50 and didn't want to keep swapping back and forth. Took the 18-150mm lens on vacation and shot over 1600 pictures with it and the images were very good. I didn't see distortion or vignetting at either ends of the zoom range and the color was very good. I also shot images with the 15 - 45mm kit lens for comparison and didn't notice any quality differences. I'm not a professional photographer, but I do like taking a lot of pictures and playing around with the programmable settings on the Canon M50. With the higher F stops, I increased the light setting in Programmable Mode to help off set low light situations and it worked out for my shooting needs and the pictures came out ... MorePurchased this lens as my daily use lens as I had two kit lenses that came with the Canon M50 and didn't want to keep swapping back and forth. For the money paid, this was a very good lens to add to my Canon kit.
I bought three of these lenses for myself and two of my adult kids.I like this lens. It's compact and light. I haven't really checked just how good or poor the image quality is but mainly I don't expect great image quality from a lens with this zoom range. I bought it as a light travel kit with a Canon M5 for me and M50 for my two adult kids. The only downside I see is the price at $499 and that the lens mount is plastic. For $499 one would think the mount would be made of metal even if it added an ounce or two in weight. And the fact you have to pay an extra $29 for the lens hood. All that said, I did buy three of these lenses.
This lens is a good carry-around lens for Canon M-series cameras. It is light weight and adequately sharp for everyday use. While I own both the 6D and the 7D II, there are many times that I just don't want to be saddled with heavier equipment and my M5 with the 18-150mm lens is what I reach for. The lens is well built. Even though the bayonet mount is Delrin plastic I don't find that to be a problem. The only reason I gave it a 4-star rating is that I have found it is not quite tack sharp at the 150mm setting. Bottom line - I can highly recommend it.
I bought this lens as a single-lens-does-everything solution for my Canon EOS M50 camera, and am mostly happy with the result. The small size of the lens and excellent mechanical quality are strong points (the turning action of the zoom ring is easy and smooth).I also have the Canon 15-45mm and 55-200mm EF-M zoom lenses, and the Tamron 16-300mm EF zoom lens (which requires the CanonEF-EOS M mount adapter to attach to the M50). I am giving upconsiderable zoom range at both ends with the 18-150mm(compared to the other lenses), but gain the single lens advantagewith the small size and weight. I was also hoping for opticalsuperiority with the 18-150mm lens, but so far have not seen it.At 150mm, the 18-150mm is a touch softer than the 55-200mmset at 150mm. The Tamron 16-300mm and the 18-150mm areabout equal at equivalent focal lengths, with a slight edge going tothe 18-150mm. Nevertheless, the 18-150mm takes very nice, sharp pictures throughout it's zoom range.
Amazing versatility and image quality in a compact low.cost lens. Of course the build quality is not the sam as in Canons L series but that was also never the intention. It focuses very fast on the EOS M6 MkII. Its small size and large zoom range make it a versatile companion for travel, possibly complemented with the compact EF-M 22mm f/2 for evening and night time. Obviously with a small f/3.5 - 6.3 this is not a lens for hand-held photography in low light. The pictures shows the lens compared to the much larger, heavier and expensive EF 100-400mm L full fram lens.
I use it with my canon m50 mark ii... get good sharp images. this is the best all around lens you can buy for this camera. i take this lens with me everywhere i take the camera. decent portrait photos. i would use a fixed 30mm lens for the best portrait photos.

Canon EF-M 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 Is STM Lens
The Canon EF-M 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM is an 8.3x zoom designed for EF-M-mount mirrorless cameras, where it provides a 28.8-240mm equivalent focal length. A sophisticated optical design is employed to maintain a compact, lightweight form factor along with consistent, even illumination and sharpness throughout the zoom range. Benefitting multimedia shooters, an STM stepping AF motor is employed for quick, smooth, and near-silent focusing performance that is especially useful for video applications. An Image Stabilizer is also featured to reduce the appearance of camera shake by up to four stops for sharper handheld shooting. This also enables Combination IS, when used with the EOS M5 camera, for improved image stabilization while shooting video. A panning feature is also supported with the EOS M5 for more stabilized results when photographing laterally moving subjects. This lens looks to be in near mint condition with almost no signs of use. The optics are clean and clear with no marks or scratches. The lens barrel shows almost no cosmetic marks. The focus ring is smooth and in great condition. The lens mount is in great condition showing almost no signs of use.
