That alone is an ugprade.Mark III only did 1080 at 30.IV also has a touch screen focus and face tracking. It also has smartphone WIFI features.5D Mark III has 22.3MP5D Mark IV has 30.4MPHigher mega pixels isn't everything, but there is also more detail in photos with IV.The 5D Mark III is still a great camera and is a better value now. However, if video is your thing, you may look into IV or the latest mirrorless cameras.The EOS R6 loses the additional top LCD display, but gets a flippable screen and does 10bit 4K at 60 with H264 codec vs MJPEG

I'm not a photographer nor a videographer but when googling the best camera for shooting music videos, the 5D4 Mark IV immediately popped up. Without having any prior knowledge or experience on this camera, I began doing my very intensive research on this product.As a current owner of a Canon XA10, the 5D4 is a great upgrade!I've only been interested in recording great cinematic videos & had no knowledge of the little things that you should take account of when seeking to produce great quality videos using this camera.1. Definitely purchase a battery grip. It may add some weight to your device but it's well worth it!2. When recording videos in 4K, you only get 29.59 minutes in recording time which sucks especially after I purchased a 256GB CF & SD card for my camera. Videos recorded on this device does not record on both memory cards & it does not relay. You can only record to one card. Recording videos to your CF card is the way to go! How it works is you first record for the first 29 minutes. Once you stop at 29 minutes, you can immediately begin to record for another 29 minutes. Once that's done, you may have about 5 to 7 minutes of recording time left before your card fills up. Videos recorded to your SD card will only record for a couple of minutes before stopping.3. Canon Log is a great asset to have on your camera but you may want to also download Cinestyle to help assist your Canon Log. You can find Cinestyle at www.technicolor.com. When editing your videos, The paid version of Davinci Resolve is also the way to go. Your recorded material will look very professional & cinematic.4. last but not least purchase lens filters! Amazon has some great filters that will work great on your investment.The 5D Mark IV for me is a beautiful camera that is my go to for everything video related. I love what this camera produces and would recommend it to anyone from entry level to professional. Canon has some great cinematic cameras that I may venture into in the future but for now, I'm going to stick with the my trusted partner, the 5D Mark IV.

I've liked everything about this camera... but there's a few issues. I'm a portrait photographer and I think a few simple things are missing from this camera, but it gets the job done. This one may be controversial, but I miss having a simple on-camera flash. Need a flash in a pinch? Too bad. Get out your external & diffuser and make sure they're handy. Want a double SD card slot? Nope, not on this camera. Yes, there's a compact flash slot, but those are out of date (2022)! I've never even used it with one. Want to take a photo from above your head and turn the lcd screen to see it? No, sorry that option isn't available on this model.I've also recently ran into a few repairs with this body. Mirror/shutter is locked up and the only way to "quick fix" is to pop the battery out than back in... wish I knew that at that moment! Few hundred dollars in messing around with repairs and a shipping nightmare with UPS later, and I've only owned this camera for a year & a half. My beginner camera has lasted longer than that.
