After looking at Nikon D780 and Canon's 90D I decided on the 90D. Not at all sorry for doing so. This camera is fantastic (after you learn it's details) and the results keep getting better. A good bird in flight photo is easy enough, but a fantastic bird in flight photo is a challenge yet, readily accomplished with the 90D. Only request I have is that Canon explain better in the owner's manual the effects of different lens classifications when using the OVF or LCD screen. Each has its own merits and outcomes.

Excellent features in a light weight camera
21 January 2022

I have (2) other Canon cameras -- 6Dii & 7Dii. I use both of these for travel photography with different lenses so I do NOT need to change lenses in the field. I recently purchased a heavy' Tamron 150-600 lens for bird photography, and a very light weight (used) Canon SL1 to use with this lens.Unfortunately, this SL1 camera did not produce very good images, so I recently purchased a new 90D camera to use with this Tamron lens. I recently went on a 1 day field trip to a local bird refuge to try this new combination. I have not yet had the time to use this feature. The only feature lacking in this 90D camera body is no GPS location embedded in the image Metadata.Overall I am very pleased with the 90D and also with the quick delivery service I get from B&H.

Excellent replacement for my EOS 80D
20 May 2022

For the past four years, I have used a Canon EOS 80D, mainly for shooting action shots of sports, football, baseball, soccer and softball. I have also used of of family events. A week before leaving on a trip to my granddaughter's graduation, it developed a major problem with the shutter. Not enough to send it in for repair, I selected the EOS 90D with the 18-135mm Lens from B&H. This was a perfect replacement for my EOS 80D, as I can use all the lenses I already have, plus I now the 18-135 lens to add to the collection. Being very familiar with the EOS 80D, it was an easy transition to the EOS 90D, and within a day or two, I was using it with ease. My father used Canon cameras, both print and digital for many many years. When he passed, I got his Canon 40D, I later got the 80D, so it was only natural to get the 90D when I needed a replacement for the 80D, ease of use, plus being able to use all the existing lenses I already have was a big plus. As for the 80D, it will get sent off for repair when our trip is over, it will be a back up to the 90D. Thanks B&H for providing me with a great camera and saving our trip.

Good gear, but need for slight improvement.
25 December 2022

Great gear. Nice employees. One camera (I can’t remember which one) had trouble reading an SD card while the others did not have trouble reading the same SD card (would say “card full” when it was empty). Otherwise, all the equipment worked flawlessly. For service improvement, it would be appreciated to have the ability to purchase rental insurance on site at self-pickup. I had decided to purchase rental insurance after my official purchase. When I went to pick up my gear but had yet to leave with it I asked about adding the insurance on. That request was denied and they said it wasn’t possible. The company missed a money making opportunity. Had I left already, I would have understood. Great for wildlife!
22 July 2022

After using a Canon 40D for 15 years, I finally broke down and upgraded to the 90D. Granted that's like going from a VHS tape to 4K but it still took good pictures for its age. I like how its not as bulky and heavy as the 40D now which makes a difference when you're trying to hold it steady. The auto focus is a lot quicker which helps with wildlife photography. And going from 6fps to 10fps makes a big difference. I like how the 90D handles the colors too. The 40D took nice pictures but would sometimes wash out the photo some and I had to correct it in PhotoShop but with the 90D the editing is very minimal. Again, comparing the 40D to the 90D is like comparing VHS to 4K but if you want something to capture wildlife without breaking the bank too much, its worth it.

It’s okay- nothing to write home about.

It’s okay…I previously had a Canon 77d and went to this because I heard it was a better camera but my 90d caused me all kinds of headaches.I couldn’t use my 100mm macro L lens with it, even after the firmware updates. I heard of other people having the same issue but silly me bought the camera anyways. My macro lens worked perfectly with my 77d so it wasn’t user error….there was always some kind of focal miss when I used my macro lens with this body. It was my most used lens with my 77d and the continuous issues when I paired that lens with this body is what made me sell my 90d and move to a completely different camera system. When I paired this with my 24mm efs, it was amazing. The camera really shined with that lens.I had about 5 different cannon lenses (2 L series, 1 efs and rest regular) and 1 sigma 18-35m and the quality of images I got out of most of my lenses was better with my older 77d camera than they are with this new one. Maybe I just had a bad body, but there was always some kind of focusing issue when I paired it with certain lenses. If your new, or maybe just a causal photographer who doesn’t want to invest in a lot of gear, this camera will pair up great with a 24mm Efs pancake or the 50mm 1,8 and you’ll get a lot of good photos of the kids or backyard flowers and stuff but if you know your going to be serious and invest in quality glass, I would just skip this body all together and either go with the previous 80d or jump into their new mirrorless line and just skip this body all together.

A very poor-quality tripod that came with the bundle was a used item which was broken in multiple places. After spending nearly $1500 on this purchase and after many contacts with RedTag Camera, a measly $20 refund was offered as a courtesy payment (didn't even cover the cost of a low-end replacement tripod) and I was then told they would cover the camera for defects with their own warranty for one year. I have many doubts about this, and in my personal opinion, steer clear and save much heartache.
