This Canon R7 has exceeded my expectations. I switched from a Canon 70D, but, with the EF to R converter, all my legacy Canon, and Sigma lenses not only fit, but work perfectly with the very fast autofocus. The saving of separate stills and video settings is excellent. The viewfinder is sharp and bright, as is the flip-out side screen. Video quality is excellent, and the spec allows me to shoot high end events or corporate videos in full HD, or 4K. It's lightness of weight versus the 70D helps a lot, as I have some mobility issues. Highly recommended.

I have many cameras including Canon 5D Mark IV, Canon 1Dx Mark II, Canon R3, Canon R5 and Canon R6. I bought the Canon R7 with the 18-150mm lens because we do a lot of Jeep offroading where we lead groups and I wanted a small lightweight camera that could capture all the action of other vehicles going through obstacles. Besides offroading I mainly shoot birds and need a fast frame rate especially for hummingbirds. It is a fantastic camera and checks all the boxes I need. I use this camera on full manual. If you are only going to use it on Program or Auto mode you do not need this camera, probably won't like it and should chose a Point & Shoot. You have to change many settings to get this camera to perform to its capabilities. I personally like it much better with ... I always shoot handheld in the Jeep and there is no issue with high ISO's (up to 6400). If birding most of the time I use a Gimbal but with this camera and the Canon 600mm/800mm f/11 lenses I shoot handheld and have had excellent results.

DO NOT BUY! This whole package is filled with garbage! Only the camera and one lens actually work correctly with the R7. 800mm lens does not work at all and makes camera freeze. 75-300 is NOT made for the R7 and the adapter given is useless and does not work. All the filters and other things are basically dollar store crap you wouldn't buy a child for their first camera. Called Pager Zone they were supposed to send new adapters for the lenses but those never showed up and they don't respond to emails. You can probably buy everything in the kit for under $200...Definitely NOT worth paying an extra $800. Stay away from this bundle and only buy the camera.
Have used it a few times now mostly indoors without a flash. It is an amazing camera. Very sharp, clear focused pics. Fast, accurate autofocus. Need to spend more time and still learn all the features. With the refurbished price and additional discounts, it is a great deal. Looking forward to trying out some sports/action shots soon. I would highly recommend the refurbished products direct from Canon. I've purchased a refurbished lens previously as well and have had no problems.
I always said my last camera (EOS 7D) purchase would be my last BUT with the advances in camera technology I decided to take a plunge into the mirrorless arena. This is a big step up from my last camera: EVF; focus tracking; more mega pixels; WiFi and Bluetooth etc.I am glad I made the plunge as the camera is just brilliant. There is a bit of a learning curve with all the new technology but with sufficient info online it is manageable. The focus tracking is just fantastic and I have already got some great shots of birds that my last camera would have struggled to get. The extra mega pixels helps enormously. The EVF is better than I expected and works well.I am an enthusiast photographer and extremely pleased with my purchase and would recommend this this camera ... Paired this camera with a new Sigma 18-50 RF lens and the results are just excellent. Very impressed with the camera simply set to auto although I tend to use the AV mode. Tried using the cameras focus tracking set to people and eye detection and it works really well. Used to take RAW images and edit them on the computer. Now the results from taking jpeg images are so exceptionally good I don't bother. This is a superb camera with strong build and exceptional image quality. It's compact enough to be a good travel camera. Can't really fault it although notransfer cable included which is poor for the price you pay. WiFi works well so using that to transfer images.
Coming from an older Pentax K50, the R7 is awesome. The AF system is light years ahead of what I was using. The customization and array of controls is pretty bewildering. I have a lot of experience with older DSLR's but the R7 has sent me to youtube many times in order to get the best out of it. Built in Bulb timers and intervalometer / time lapse movie features are a real bonus. I often shoot at iso 1600 which cleans up beautifully with a bit of NR in post. If you're not already super familiar with the R series of cameras, you can expect to spend a bit of time reading the manual / watching youtube vids - especially to understand how to get the maximum out of the autofocus / eye tracking. The in body stabilization is also brilliant.
After 3 weeks with my R7 I must say that I am very happy with my first test results. I performed sharpness tests comparing the R7 with the 18-150 mm kit lens to my RP camera tests with e.g. EF 100mm F2.8 IS Macro and EF 16-35mm F4 IS and see little difference. Sharpness of the kit lens is very good even full open in the corners (even the contrast is very good) and almost as good as my L lenses, the main difference is at higher F numbers, the un-sharpness caused by diffraction above F16 is worse than my other lenses and F40 at 150mm is definitely a joke, stay away from these higher F numbers! The R7 with its kit lens is a compact and light combination easy to handle many photographic subjects. The AF is very good and the speed of multiple exposures can be set very ... The R7 with its kit lens is a compact and light combination easy to handle many photographic subjects. The AF is very good and the speed of multiple exposures can be set very high and as long as you use fast SD cards (V90 SDII with 300MB/sec write speed), the highest speeds give you a couple of seconds before the buffer is full. I especially liked the electronic shutter, the mechanical shutter is rather loud. A good and cheap lens to have for wider angle shots below 18mm is the EF-s 10-18mm STM lens used with the EF to RF adapter, not as sharp in the corners as the kit lens but still very usable before Canon comes out with an RF version. The R7 has many more options than my RP so I am still learning. The attached pictures show a straight .jpg from the R7 as well as aslightly improved version from .craw in the Affinity photo 2 editor both compressed to fit on the B&H website.
If you are a canon user, you will find the menu very easy to navigate. There is so much packed into the camera software that I sometimes feel I am carrying around a point and shoot. Mindful of the fact I am using a kit lens – the lens does not perform like any of the Canon L series lenses. That is what I am used to shooting with on my 5D Mark four. This camera is very small and I bought it for that purpose. I don’t think it will replace my DSLR for my professional work. I did buy the canon lens adapter for my L series lenses and they work seamlessly. Was dreading that it may slow them down, but so far they seem to work beautifully although it makes it front heavy.
