Would be a good calculator for a general use, maybe daily activities or what not. However, almost all math courses in college require a calculator with graphing and higher problem solving capabilities! So check your major requirements and core math before purchasing one of these! Every lit bit counts once you're in college.

This seems to be a good little desktop calculator for the price! The screen is tilted and easy to read and the keys are raised enough above the board for easy entry. The unit is equipped to be both battery and solar powered. The only con that I see so far is that battery insertion or removal involves unscrewing the bottom cover from the unit! I can see where this will not be easy for most people. In fact, the instructions say that it should be done at a Canon Service Center and not to do it yourself. This restriction is the reason for the 3 star rating in expectations. But hey....$8.99!

Have had my original of this calculator for more than ten years before it finally just would not hold a charge any longer. So glad to see that Canon still offers this same model. A great value!

I have always liked this size calculator - large enough buttons but doesn't take up too much space on the desk.
Having purchased Canon products for many many years, I was extremely disappointed to find the calculator that lives in a draw and was used less than 10 times had stopped working. Powers on ok, but the buttons failed to function. Tried everything apart from removing the battery(why would I, it powers on). Rang the lovely folk at Officeworks, who couldn't really help me as the warranty period was now over 12 months. They suggested to contact Canon directly. As this is more over principle rather than cost, I assumed Canon would understand and come to the party, replacing the item as it is clearly in as new condition. Not only did they refuse to budge on their 12 month warranty, but they also tried to have me request that Officeworks replace the product instead! Not only did they refuse to budge on their 12 month warranty, but they also tried to have me request that Officeworks replace the product instead! The nerve. Not what I expected from a global market leading company. Boycotting Canon from here on out. Very disappointing outcome.
Bought only seven months ago, used occasionally, and now it won't turn on. I have never had this happen with any calculator of any size or any price, that I may have used for many years. I love my Canon printer, but apparently their cheap calculators are not of the same quality. I am going to get my money back and am buying something cheaper that hopefully will last.
I have tried several calculators of this size. This is by far the most effective method. The keys are a delight to press. They are responsive so you know that you have entered a number without looking at the display. Also, the keys are extremely easy to press. The entry was much faster than all the others. I guarantee you will think it is the most advanced calculator ever
Nice compact calculator with nice size buttons. Has great features and was inexpensive as well.
I bought this back when it first came out and I would still have it, if I had just charged the thing rather than think the missing line on the bottom of the fives was dirt. I opened the back because I thought I could take the display apart and clean it. Silly me. Tried to screw the back on again and the thing wouldn't turn on. My bad. Don't do that. This unit worked for over 15 years until I started to think how to fix it. So now I bought two from ebay. Before this, I always used a 10 key with a tape and swore I would never use a calculator without one. I still have the 10 key and tape, but I opted to use this unit instead for well over a deacade.
Previous one lasted 16 years before the battery died and was used almost daily. Keys are nice size for my chubby fingers. Numbers on screen are easy to see.
