I bought this all-in-one to replace a more advanced model I've had for years. It was easy to set up, and the value pack exceeded expectations. The Officeworks exclusive value pack includes 5 cartridges. Plus I was able to pick it up the same day rather than wait for shipping. I travelled via public transport, and weighing just 11kg, it was easily manageable using the cut out 'handles' on the box.

Printer works well but not happy that it has 2.4GHz wi-fi, not 5GHz.Was going to return printer because I couldn't connect to smartphone network at 5 GHz which is tethered to pc. Could only connect at 2.4GHz which slowed network speed and internet.Had to use ethernet and bridge the connection to wi-fi network on pc to get both printer working (with internet access) and full speed on network. There was nothing in specifications that indicated that it only worked at 2.4GHz.The printer I had before this one was a TS8360 which did have 5GHz wi-fi so I assumed this later model would too. Apparently the TS8360 is the only model that has it (so Canon help tells me).Decided to keep the printer since I got it working ok.

Problems began on day two of owning. (Day one it was working). I did read reviews but I went with the food outweighing bad and we have always owned Cannon printers so we thought… let’s just give it another go. Buuuuut….Day two was met with a variety of issues randomly coming and going. Spotty WIFI connectivity (printer is kept right next to the modem and our other wireless printers worked without any drama). Cassette tray (once we sorted out how to load it) was stuck on “support code 2110” that the cassette tray wasn’t loaded. Finally figured out how to expand the tray to fit A4 paper. (After looking over the manual and calling Cannon twice.) Took a minute to sort out that you can expand the tray by pressing down on on the whatsie on the lower left…. After getting the tray to expand to A4 size we messed around with the printer all night and could not get the code to go away. Day three I ignored the thing all together as Cannon said take it back to the retailer with a refund code. On a whim I tried it on day four and suddenly was working (till about midday) but I managed to get SOME work done. Until the WIFI started to drop again. Then the cassette tray started playing up…. Then it worked on and off for another couple of hours until I finally got Support Code 6004 and I was done. Back in the box.“Support Code 6004: generally means that there may be foreign material (such as scraps of paper) inside the printer. However, if no such material is found, your printer will require service.”The fella at Harvey Norman set us up with an HP today and as of this afternoon are back in business. Happy to have something that is working well again.Ther kerfuffle was an isolated incident. We will shop an Harvey Norman again.

This printer is OK, but that's it. It prints well, it scans well (if you use the flatbed scanner), but the automatic sheet feeder scan option doesn't work. No matter how many pages I scan it is waiting for an "extra" sheet of paper and then comes up with paper jam error (there is no paper jam). The printer overall feels flimsy. The front panel is a joke. The paper loading area doesn't allow you to see how much paper is left either.
So far so good. We’ve only had the product for a couple of weeks and we haven’t tested the scanning feature yet. However, the printing has been better than our previous Canons in the same price range. If the scanning works as well as the printing when we finally use it, I’d be happy to give it the full 5 stars
I had heard the Pixma printers were good for photo & art printing and got this while it was on offer. The print quality seems good so far and I liked that the package included an extra set of cartridges.I’m not sure why it needs two paper trays and sometimes it’s annoying having to check settings because it has decided to use the empty tray and then show an error.I also wanted a printer that could scan multiple pages at once without having to manually add documents to the plate, which this does. However, the scan quality is sometimes not as clear/sharp as when using the plate.
Printer is easy to set up and works well for wi-fi printing. Instructions in the manual for wi-fi set up is poor/incorrect. Good size secreen display but touch screen was not very responsive and need to press hard on it. Paper tray is a bit filmsy in build. Overall a good size home multi-function printer.
Good quality print, both text and photos. Very clear and clean. Easy to use and getting good life out of the ink which came with the printer. Settup was easy and i like the phone ap. Print rate a little slow especially with double side and the scan function works well but the interface not as good as other brands and having trouble linking other scan apps. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it and I'd recommend this printer.
Bought this printer a few weeks ago (upgraded from an older Canon Pixma). So far very happy. Set up was a bit confusing to follow initially - kept switching between my computer screen and the display screen on the printer. But once I realised it was easiest to use the display touch screen on the computer, it was plain sailing after that (even for a not too tech savvy senior like me). So far very happy with print quality but NOTE this is not a very fast printer, particularly for double sided printing - it's ideal for home use but if you have lots of printing to do and are not too patient, you might want to reconsider. Ink (cartridge) is expenseive but bonus was it came with two sets of ink which should last a while given I don't print that much. I will give it only 4 stars on account of the slower than I expected double- sided printing speed. Will I recommend it? Yes, with the above provisos..
I purchased the Canon TR8660 in order to be able to print colour as children needed it for homework etc BUT this is the most expensive and yet by far the worst printer I have had- 95% of the time I just need to print A4 pages of text in black, but each time I need to it: wastes pages printing un-needed 'tests'; will often not print with the front tray I have checked in settings because the back tray has not got enough paper (if only it just had one tray, having 2 completely pointless and time-wasting); it takes so long to convince it to print B&W pages when the colour inks are low; quite often it just refuses to print AT ALL, usually after it prints 2-3 pages then decides to stop and say the rear tray is empty or the front tray has the wrong paper, even in the ... MoreI purchased the Canon TR8660 in order to be able to print colour as children needed it for homework etc BUT this is the most expensive and yet by far the worst printer I have had- 95% of the time I just need to print A4 pages of text in black, but each time I need to it: wastes pages printing un-needed 'tests'; will often not print with the front tray I have checked in settings because the back tray has not got enough paper (if only it just had one tray, having 2 completely pointless and time-wasting); it takes so long to convince it to print B&W pages when the colour inks are low; quite often it just refuses to print AT ALL, usually after it prints 2-3 pages then decides to stop and say the rear tray is empty or the front tray has the wrong paper, even in the middle of a job trying to continue with same paper loaded and using same tray- it is just infuriating. I spent so long trying to get it to work at all, there was no software with it and ended up writing to Canon help centre. I had a Brother b&W only printer before that was BRILLIANT compared to this, also had no problem with HP, Epson colour printers but this is just terribel I wish I had never got it, as was too late to try adn get a refund by the time I had struggled with it for weeks.
