This point and shoot is better than I expected. I bought it to take pictures for my resale shops and it takes excellent quality photos for that but takes even better shots of nature. The zoom doesn't cause too much distortion. It has a long battery life and is easy to connect to WiFi and my phone. I do wish that I could charge the camera itself or it would have come with two batteries because charging the battery takes too much time. Despite that, I think that it's worth the price and I would recommend it as a casual point and shoot camera.

Takes great photos. Easy to use since it functions like other Canon cameras. Replaced a 12MP, 12x Canon SX130 that eventually refused to open its shutter, but otherwise worked ok. Rather than pay for a repair, bought the SX620. So, after just one week of use, the SX620 started to do the same thing after carrying it in my work apron for an afternoon. The shutter opened partially, or not at all. Then, for no specific reason, the shutter began operating again after a day of rest on my desk. No, the battery wasn't dead. There were a few moments I seriously thought about running over it with my car. Two Canons, one old, one new, two sticky shutters.

I like this camera. I use it for work and have to take a wide range of photographs, often of a somewhat technical nature. This camera does fine. I need an inexpensive camera that can be dropped accidentally without breaking the bank to replace it. My only criticism is that it is not weather proofed at all, so you have to be careful where it is used. The quality of images are better than a cell phone (even the good ones) and it is relatively small, but still easy to use. The image transfer to my computer works smoothly through wi fi, but would appreciate a Bluetooth capability. Over all a nice camera, good value for the money, good photo quality, pretty good range of capabilities.

I mainly bought this because of the 1080 video capability at a good price level and it did not disappoint. Handling is good although I have invested in a tripod and handheld mount to keep it steadier while filming - picture quality is excellent.Much easier to carry about and far less obtrusive in use than the bridge camera I also have - the 620 replaced an Ixus 185 and is a little way up from that.My preferred transfer method is by taking out the SD card and slotting it into my laptop, but other methods are available. The only issue I have had is inadvertently switching it on while taking it out of / putting it in the carry case, but that may be an issue with the case rather than the camera.Recommended.
Well, I haven't used it used it yet but when I turned it on it was nice and everything was working. My camera is even purple!! The packaging was so nice everything was wrapped up so neatly. Good for beginner vloggers which is mainly why I got mine, The kit is actually less than the camera itself so I just got the kit. I set up my camera. The only thing is that I don't know how to set the date and time and keep it saved because it asks me every time I turn it on. Another thing is my battery was dead when I got. It only had like 5% on there. But it is still a nice camera. It even came with screen protectors and lens cleaner, so that was very nice. I do recommend this to everyone.
Ted Electronics shipped the item promptly with no problems. They would get 5 stars. The two stars rating is for the camera itself. This is my second Canon point and shoot camera. The first one works very well, except it had only 5x optical. I would like to get one that would help with bird watching. Well, not this camera. It takes forever to auto focus in the auto mode. By the time it focused, more often than not, birds already flew away or hopped away.A second thing I don't like about this camera is, it uses a special battery. Thus, one could not just buy low cost spare batteries. Have to recharge the only battery that came with the camera every night while we were on a trip.
Good Points: It slips into my pocket easily when I have finished taking a picture. It is then ready and at hand for the next without having to put back in its case. It is light unlike SLR cameras. Pictures are easily composed.Improvement Points: The battery/SIM card housinglid could be better. This is, unfortunately, very weak and I fear it could easily break or wear very quickly. This would render the camera useless. Pictures on full zoom are quite fuzzy.
We bought this camera to replace a 6 1/2 year old Nikon camera. My wife likes the Nikon camera, but there are enough things broken on the Nikon point and shoot camera, that the Canon would work better. We have a small Kodak point and shoot, but it is so small it is hard to hold with the hands. So, other than having to charge the battery out of the camera, this camera is an easy point and shoot camera. We looked at a number of cameras at Walmart, BestBuy, Target first before buying this one on line. We had trouble years ago, when we bought a Sony camera, then the Nikon. We have had better luck in general with Kodak, but Kodak no longer sells well made cameras. But Kodak cameras still have the best picture taking ability and features. I guess no American generation X man or woman wants to run Kodak. After using for a few months, one feature that is great is sending pictures over WIFI. The camera is easy to use, except charging is done by removing the battery and putting it in charger station. The plus side is the battery is Lithium and last many pictures and movies.
The response time, image focus, flash, image quality, zoom, and settings on this are all horrible. The specs made it seem like it was going to be a good camera; but it's worse than my old iPhone 6 on all accounts. The zoom, for instance, can be all the way out -and still not take a closeup of something less than 4ft away from me. Without the zoom on, images seem miles away than what they are in person. Using some of the night modes, the flash decides when it wants to pop up or not. The image focus also has a hard time adjusting. If you do take a photo with the higher image quality or low light settings, it may or may not take it -and then the camera renders itself useless for a solid 10 seconds before you're allowed to take another photo. The response time in general is horrid. Couldn't even take a photo of my lounging cat in bright daylight. One small movement, and it blurred. Lowlight, super grainy. Returning.
Very quick response. I can turn it on and click to get a picture in very little time -- e.g. while my young kids are still doing whatever amusing thing I want a photo of. It is really good for quick point and shoot. I even took landscape photos out the window of a moving car, and got remarkably well focused images. But I also like to have some control -- selecting the focus point/distance and adjusting the light metering. In order to get it to focus in the center always, I put in in Program mode, and select center focus in the menu options. Then I can half-click to get it to light meter and focus at a certain point, and then reframe the photo as I like. The large optical zoom is also an excellent feature, allowing me to get close-up images of little creatures that were many meters away.
