Wonderful product. The writing instruments are lovely to use. I liked that you could pick out your colours. The pen & pencil are nice to hold, light and feel good in your hand.

Rate a pencil?It writes and holds the lead well.Also feels substantial in the hand.Oh yes, has a nice eraser too.

Perfect little pencil

I work in a variety of settings and have tried to “curate” the perfect set of stationary to take everywhere - office, coffee shop, community meeting and/or in the woods.It’s feels solid, is durable and looks good, too. Don’t need another one but definitely looking for an excuse to grab one in a bolder color.

Simple, effective and excelent quality.

I like simple, good quality and good materials pencils and the 844 is an excelent example.I have been using this mechanical pencil in a daily basis (with a pair of 849s) for more than five years and I don´t know anything more dependable and cost effective as a writing instrument.With the years and normal use the SWISS MADE tag is now faded and the clip is opaque but it perform flawless day after day. The desing is very simple and discreet, and at first look could only stand out because of the odd place of the brand (under the clip) and because it is a Caran d´Ache, but once in your hand really stand out because of materials (metalic), controled weight and ergonomics, specially close to the cheap pentels of my colleagues. (nothing against pentel, excelent brand but different category in mechanical pencils) I really like mechanical pencils and I also have a 0.7 scribble, more expensive, really well made and beautifull mechanical pencil, but tend to roll endelessly once I left it on the table. The clip is not big enough to stop the roll and it doesn`t have the same shape of the 3.15 version which can be hold in an incline table.Anyways, even having more expensive options, the 844 is the one that I end up choosing day after day.

The real color is a lot brighter, like neon orange.

Great mechanical pencil overall, with great Caran d'Ache design and solid build.However, it is maybe a little bit too light in my opinion (only 12g) and doesn't have a retractile tip. In the same price range, I would prefer the GraphGear 1000 over this one for its weight and functionality. But this one is absolutely more stylish and definitely looks better in a shirt pocket I think.

This replaces a cheap Papermate

This replaces a cheap Papermate disposable I’ve been using for years. It writes equally well, using the same lead, but it has a more substantial feel. Higher quality.It’s actually a small luxury.

Very bright neon yellow and seems well made

I haven’t used it much, but it seems very well-made. I definitely won’t mix it up with any of my pens! I have a few mechanical pencils that look like some of my pens and this is unique. It writes well and seems solid.
