Carhartt Firm Duck Insulated Bib Overall, Brown, S

I had a hard time with these bibs. I tried on three different sizes till I finally settled on a small regular. For some reason, Carhartt decided to change the fit of these, and I hope they go back to the old way. I used to buy these in a 38×30, and I never went wrong. They always fit with room for your clothes underneath them. Now I wear sweatpants under these and can barely fit my hoodie. I find myself wearing these only when my old ones need a wash. The pockets are way too small, and dont seem as warm as the previous model.

Cleveland Winters Tamed..

My daughter works outside in the Cleveland winters for 8-10 hours a day. I bought these for my her because she was always cold. She has told me that they keep her so warm that she is now able to just wear leggings under the overalls. They are long enough to cover the tops of her shoes so no air blows up her legs and that also helps her feet stay warmer. This was the best gift I purchased this year. I am so glad she is now warm and cozy during the rough Cleveland winters. I bought a little pair for my grandson to wear while sledding. We love Carhartt!

False Advertising, sizing NOT as advertised!!

I ordered these online, in an after Christmas sale. The product that came in is a "loose fit" bib, which is not what the product listing and details says on the site. I returned to the site and checked my order to make sure I didn't order a loose fit by mistake, but NOWHERE in the product listing or details section does it mention them being loose fit. I have included pictures to show the false advertising. I am beyond disappointed because I have searched different sites for a couple of months now, trying to find bibs that DIDN'T say loose fit. I will be returning them, and my husband will have to work his outdoor job without the bibs he needs. Academy, you need to do better!!!

Garbage product for tradesmen

The overalls themselves keep me warm in 19° weather as they should.But these elastic straps are absolute garbage, i haven't even owned this pair for month and the strap comes apart on me, only reason for buying this pair was because that's all that was in stock, and i truly needed them at the time. really aggravating though as i work in the trades. specifically HVAC, where i get NO days off lmfao, it's been really frustrating and uncomfortable walking around all day with one strap, my message to Carhartt, do better.CRAZIEST PART is the fact that they sell this cheap GARBAGE at the same price as the woven strapped overalls. Do NOT buy.

Great fit for a tall man

I bought my son-in-law a pair of these overalls for Christmas in 2022. He loved them. When I asked my daughter what to get him this year she said,”get him another pair of the overalls you got him last year. He has worn the other pair out.” So that is what I did. Please don’t think that Carheart is a product that is easily worn out because they are not. He is just a guy that works hard and it’s hard to find any clothes that will last more than a few months. These overalls stood up to the job and then some. He is still wearing last year’s he just needed a second pair. One to wash and one to wear. He is very happy and so am I.

Great work clothing

Great work clothes. This is my 3rd set of jacket and bibs. I have been wearing the last set for at least 10 years. I suggest that you install knee pads in the "pocket" that is built into the legs for them. It will make the knees last longer especially if your work or play involves a lot of kneeling. I will say that they tend to be on the long side. They may shrink a little, but you do not want to order a longer bib even if you are at the top of the length height listed. If you are at the lower end of a height range you would want to order the next shorter size unless you have very short legs for your height.

My boyfriend LOVES them

These as a gift have me feeling like the best girlfriend ever! My boyfriend absolutely loves them. He's 6'5, 160lbs, with a 32" waist and 36" inseam, and the M long fits him PERFECTLY. And I mean perfectly. He's so hard to shop for, and the websites size guide was amazing for deciding which size I needed to get him.He's in excavation and snow removal and he says they're great and keep him nice and warm - definitely not for the summer but perfect for Albertan winters.He does layer underneath and they still work great. And he can move around freely:)Will for sure be re gifting these for other family members!

New, But Not Improved

Let me start by saying how much I like, use, and recommend Carhartt products. However, I just purchased a new pair of medium loose-fit black bib overalls from Cabellas and find the new strap-latching mechanism incomprehensibly difficult to use. I cannot understand why Carhartt would change a strap-latching mechanism that had heen used for generations, a strap-latching mechanism that was so easy to use and effective in securing the straps over my shoulders.It seems that everything that was once easy and effective has been "improved" and is now ridiculously difficult to use.I sent a note to Carhartt and suggested that Carhartt restore the previous hook-and-loop strap-latching mechanism and in the future remember the old adage, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."I ... MoreLet me start by saying how much I like, use, and recommend Carhartt products. Not designed for actual work

So I expected the problems I encoutered.I stand 5 ft 8 inches tall, 32 inch waist, 30 inch inseam, and weigh in at 186 lbs.The old sizing system is gone so ordering online is simply a recipe for frustration. I ended up hittung 5 different stores and trying on multiple sizes. The closest fit, which I bought, was a medium short. Which is both almost too small (waist) and yet almost too long (legs). The large short was ridiculous. Think 31 inch inseam and 44 inch waist. So sizing is a crap shoot, too bad really, but there it is.The pockets on this thing are useless. The zippered chest pocket accomodates a smart phone but the other pocket can't accomodate a small wallet, neither can any other pocket. If you use the zipper pocker.for your phone and wallet it sticks out too far and is annoying. So I need to bring the overalls to a tailor and have the pockets redone; deepened and expanded.The suspender clasps are annoying and tend to bind up.Generally I am swearing at my carharts instead of by them. My old set (27 years) I swore by. No matter what was thrown at me, the carharts did not let me down.Maybe once I fix all the design flaws in these new ones they will also last 27 years. I am hoping so anyway. One thing is absolutely certain though: whoever designed the new layout has never worked in the feild. The back pockets don't suck, every other one is basicly a do-over and the sizing is horrid.They still seem solidly made, albeit poorly designed, so at least I should be able to swear at them for awhile. My $220.00 frustration. Still need to pay to make them functional...

These are horrible compared to years past.

I am 5'9, 145lb. I wear a 31/32 pant. Both times, based sizing on size chart. And both times was way off. I bought a med/reg the first time to give me waist room, but i did not expect them to go 6 inches past my toes when pulled up as far as they would go. Second time, got a med short, still 4 inches too long. It is absolutely impossible to walk in these things, I dont know if it is a QA issue, or this is their new way of sizing. Most things carhartt have always run a little big or baggy/loose, but this is absolutely ridiculous. I have a pair of artic bibs from years ago, they were actually too tight and ordered up sized for them. Got a pair of fitted uninsulated bibs that were about 1 inch to the short side but manageable. But at least those two pair i had the option to pick my waist and inseam based off of actual measurements. LAstly, the new design, which has been complained about by just about everyone, is absolutely horrible. There is no reason to fix something that wasnt broken. But with all the complaints, you would think a company would address the issue. But here we are, another year and same story. I think ill move on to other brands, some that are just as good, cheaper in cost, and actually care about customers complaints in design and fit.
