A sentiment I've seen echoed in the other reviews.I picked up a talent for sewing when I was a kid, so looks like I might have to buy some material and make my own cargo pockets and sew 'em on to my regular jeans.

Just the right pants for me.

I first purchased the Rugged Flex Relaxed fit RipStop Cargo shorts and loved them. I then got two pairs of pants from there and they have proven to be exactly what I need for the hard work environment that I work in. The little on the right leg fits my leather-man knife just perfectly and I can fit both my personal phone and well as my work phone in the two other pockets on either leg. They are also very comfortable and very durable as well. I feel like these pants were custom made just for me. I hope Carhartt keeps on making them for years to come. I don't plan on buying any other pants or shorts other than these from now on.Thanks Carhartt!Caleb Burk

My husband has been wearing Carhartt cargo pants for over 20 years. He only wears them and no other brand or style. We just got a new order and unfortunately Carhartt has changed their colors and the fabric on these pants and the changes are awful. The fabric feels cheaper, the cut feels different and the new shades of brown and green are unpleasant. We returned the green ones they were so bad. The green is the same color as forest service pants. They used to have a nice army olive green color. The brown ones now have a drab tone. Please bring back the old design, fabrics and colors!!!

No longer satisfied
13 December 2023

I have worn this style of pant from Carhart since they were introduced. I tried these new pants and they do not hold up to crawling around on the floor and daily medium workload. Keys have made holes in the pocket. Along the seams they have started thinning to be nothing but strings. As other customers have mentioned the B342 was a superior pant compared to today's pant. They have done away with the colors I have enjoyed. I wore these pants as a LEO then into my next career as an IT person. I loved these pants. Now I will have to find something else. Guess I will need to start shopping around for another brand. My wife laughed at me since everything for daily wear says Carhart on it. Shame on you Carhart!!!

Plenty of room for activities in these pants...
18 November 2023

I'm 5'7" and 155lbs. When looking for new work pants I came across these, they fit a bit looser than I would like, but they are a very comfortable work pant with plenty of pockets for tools and mobile devices. I wished Carhartt had these in a "slim fit" style, closer fit in the seat and thighs with a smaller leg opening. The material is not to heavy or bulky, provides great ease of movement, good for work in a manufacturing plant, small shop, or technical field service work. The zipper and metal snap buttons feel nice and solid too, very durable. However, I don't think I would recommend these pants for work outside in adverse weather conditions. The material seems a bit too light duty for that type of work and abuse.I work in field service, small to large shop environments and large manufacturing facilities; crawling in and out of large industrial printing equipment, exposure to chemicals, solvents and printing ink, sharp heavy tools being jammed into the pockets, etc. So far, these pants have held up well, so much so that I have just order two more pair in different colors.I hope this review helps in your pants purchasing decision... good luck, stay safe and enjoy your new pants... whatever they may be!

Quality control over size consistency
6 January 2024

I just ordered three pairs of the same pants (different colors.) Two of the three are black. The two black pants fit completely different from each other. One is loose (which I like) and the other is way too tight. Crazy quality control on that one. In the last two months I've purchased five pairs of these paints in total, they all fit the same except that one black pair. I've already wash them so not sure if I can return them. Not sure how to rate them, love the pants but the quality control kind of sucks. This isn't the first time that I've purchased multiple pairs of pants from carhartt when the same size fit differently

Quality design and production
2 January 2024

Had these pants a couple months now and laundered several times. Holding up so far. Quality design and production. I liked the old version of this pant that was 100% cotton, didn't realize this update is a cotton/synthetic blend when I ordered it. The old side cargo pockets were slightly larger, but these seem adequate (no problem holding secure a large iPhone Pro Max, even with a case). I like the new hammer/tool loop which doesn't get caught on things like the old one did. After 6-12 mos. I'll decide whether to get another pair.

Quality has been diminished, price has risen
24 June 2024

Previously I rated this style pant as 5 star, I have been buying and wearing them daily since 2015. They have been my favorite as the pockets were perfect for the job I do. The design seemed to be inspired by talking to many people in the field and developing a winner. They are no longer made as strong as previously with thinner, softer material and fewer, wider pockets. I have to say I was disappointed as there has been a wait to get these again, and not sure if the new design will be as effective and outstanding as the original. Further I can't see myself ordering these as frequently as I need considering the diminished quality.and considerable higher price. Carhartt had a winner with the last model, sometimes better to leave well enough alone.

Wast of money
1 June 2024

I bought a pair of these pants in Pigeon Forge, TN in December of 2022 and finally got to wear them at work (I'm a welder) a little over eighteen months later. My first day wearing them at work the right pant leg caught fire while I was cutting out steel plating on an excavator. While these pants may not be FR I certainly didn't think they would go up in flames so easily from the sparks that fell to the ground. I wore them a few more times after they were burned but had to retire them due to my leg always catching sparks. Needless to say I'm beyond disappointed with the fact that I wasted $60.00 on a brand such as Carhartt and didn't get good life from the product. I've actually had Wrangler work pants last longer and cost far less...

What the heck?
13 September 2024

These are not the same pants that Carhartt has sold before. They have lowered the quality and made the fabric much thinner. The pants do not hold up to heat like the old pair of pants did, this is because they changed the fabric from a really thick, durable cotton canvas to a really thin polyester blend. These pants just SUCK. They collect all sorts of things such as dust and hair. The old pair of pants would just shed both dust and hair right off.Carhartt doesn't have a satisfaction guarantee, which is why I'm writing this. These pants are no longer made for the working man, they are made to look cool, that's about it. For the price of Carhartt, any work wear band is better and will provide more longevity and protection than Carhartt.
