These pants are awesome! I bought 2 pairs a couple years ago, from Amazon. I only recently started wearing them while doing various projects, home and work. They are fairly comfortable and make work easier with the variety of pockets offered. They are also very durable. I'm seriously considering an additional pair, for when I eventually wear these down. These are my go to work pants.

I've been wearing exclusively the same pant style for 7 or 8 years now: B342 in the "Moss" color. The new styles have opened up more variety, but they have taken a heavy toll for it.The material is much thinner and feels cheaper, there are fewer pockets and built-in features, the pocket lining feels like something from Walmart, the kneepad pouch has disappeared, and the Basil is Keebler-elf-green while the B342 Moss was much more subtle. These are still okay pants in a vacuum, but truly awful when compared to their predecessor. So, once again begins the search for a decent pair of pants.

Bring back the B342. Carhartt went backwards making these. They are nothing like the B342.No Cordura in the back pockets, Front pockets are smaller not as deep, Material is thinner feels weak, Cargo pockets are smaller, No openings for Knee Pads. There was nothing wrong with the B342 I've been wearing the last 10ish years. Well… they should have put a hammer loop on the right side also. Disappointed with Carhartt on this make. Carhartt is supposed to be Strong and Tuff not Thin and Weak.I bought one pair of these put them on and right away they felt small and material thin. Design work and Material suck. And what kinda hammer loop is that.?! So high up on the pants and my hammers can't fit in there.

I love these pants for comfort, size and the ripstop pocket is great for grabbing a tape measure, or tool. however the durability in other areas just wasn't there. The ripstop on the pockets is great and held up to tape measures and tools but both cargo pockets blew out on the bottom. The loop where your hammer would go is a bad joke and does not fit 90% of the hammers on my job site. The Knees and cargo pockets wore out in less than 6 months. But that ripstop in the upper pockets has serious potential
I’m disappointed that they discontinued the style I liked. B342 was 100% cotton and had pockets that were perfect for my needs. I really liked them and was going to order more. I see that the new style is a cotton polyester blend. I don’t like polyester. It’s frustrating when you find something you like and when it’s time to replace it, it’s no longer available. Now I’m back to the search for something that will work for me. I’m not paying $60.00 for polyester pants.
These pants are heavy duty! Will keep you warm on cold days. I would not recommend wearing these if it is 70 degrees and above, you WILL get hot and sweaty. These are made of a thick material that is layered in certain areas. Keeps the wind out and the heat in. Perfect for cold and windy days. Do not wear if you work in any type of heat. They have all kinds of cool pockets and reinforcement in all the right places and the stitching is high quality. These definitely are RIPSTOP and RUGGED. Very comfortable and not too baggy, fit very well. Im a guy who weighs about 220 pounds, 5 foot 9 inches, with a 38 waist, with a 40 belt.
Have 4 pairs now. Light weight and durable. Almost worth the $60/pair. Cargo pockets are decent size and stitched well. Belt loops stitched on good. Crotch could be looser for higher stepping and flexibility. But the stitching is solid and overall tough.Had a different brand with pockets on the side of the calf's, was useful. Especially for storing pens and pencils. Now I crush them in the cargo or stab myself in the thigh on high steps. Would be a great for me if I could get those lower pockets on these Carhartts.
I, like many of the others who have given their review, favour the old style pants. If we are looking at work wear, the original style was a much truer work pant. I believe that Carhartt may be going the way of Mark's Work Wearhouse. They were supposed to be a clothing store to supply people that work with clothing for the job. They have now become a "fashion boutique" for people that do not work. Please bring back the old style.
Excellent quality...and in this case, a perfect fit, despite having to go up one size in the waist. I love Carhartt clothes, and have shirts, pants, jackets, hats, etc. It is the quality that keeps me coming back. However, sizing is an issue depending on where the clothes are made. Guatemala runs large, Honduras runs small. It is hit or miss, but return policy is so grand, that it doesn't much matter. Eventually it comes right and every one is happy.
They may be great, but I will never know. I wanted to purchase style 14806 that I had previously had. When I did not see it on web site your agent said they were replaced by this one. What I did not realize was that the 14806 was 100% cotton and tends to stretch and loosen up a little after wearing, like a blue jean. I wrongly assumed based on your agents advise that these would be the same. NOT SO! These are not 100% cotton and do not loosen up even after wearing a week without washing. There is zero stretch to these pants. I sent one pair back but now I am stuck with a new pair that I will never wear again. Bummer
