This is a physical box but a downloadable game, so no game card. This games is brilliant for little ones. Theres are lots of different mini games and pretty much only one button to press. My 3 year old picked it up really easily and absolutely loves that he can now join in with games, and he even wins! Lots of family fun, i highly recommend it if you have little ones :)

“Carnival Games” on the Wii system is a lot of fun! This game has over 30 mini games/activities to play. It can be played with one person, a couple, or a family. I would say the games are challenging but not too difficult. The key is to have enough room to play it in front of your tv (there’s lots of motions with the Wii remote). The games here are the exact same games that you play at the carnival or fair: ring toss, dunk tank, darts, golfing, alley ball, ka-pow, and many more! I find this game better than being at the fair and I recommend that you enjoy it too!

This game might be limited to twenty mini adventures, but it can be fun. There are traditional cardinal games for your Nintendo Switch with this. At $19.99 that’s a fair price. Here you can shoot arrows, pop balloons, throw rings, and my favorite is the baseball home run contest. If more of the games were like that, this would have a higher rating. Yet it’s one that most will find a few to go through. The graphics aren’t that great. I do find the carnival music amusing though. You can unlock more activities by winning games. This isn’t a real challenge, but it adds some adventure to this. Load times can be slow, and I’m not sure what the deal is. If you’re on a road trip or short flight, this is a good diversion.

Expensive Shovelware.

This game isn’t worth $5. There is zero strategy involved in any of the games, even for a 3 year old. The games are tedious and repetitive. Even worse only a few games are unlocked when you first play. To unlock the others you have to grind through the locked one to earn “tickets”. If these were levels like in a game that works but these are mini games. When is the last time you went to a carnival and you couldn’t play the milk jug toss until you played slot car racing?

Family and Quality time option

Great for family challenges. Need at least 4 controls. Great for senior relatives especially those that were used to playing the wii sports games. My toddler sets up the game and plays with grandparents. One is recovering from extensive surgery and enjoys playing as well. You have to play some game to unlock others, yet it's worth it once you master one game. You'll be able to earn tickets faster to unlock other games. 25 games leave you wishing for 25 more. Good overall fun. Worth it. Glad I didn't pass up the purchase.

Getting way more attention than I anticipated.

Bought this for my oldest since he got a Nintendo Switch Lite recently. I had bought it for him when it came out, but started up an island without realizing there can be only one island per console, so he wasn't able to control the island. Now that he has his own console, I decided to buy for him as a make up for my mistake, though I didn't really expect him to play. He's been playing more Animal Crossing than I ever imagined he would, and seems quite excited about it.

Great relaxing game
14 April 2021

If you are new to animal crossing. It gets very addicting after the learning curve. The game is in real time. So, if it it is night time where you live, it will be dark outside in the game. If rain is in the forecast where you live then it will rain in the game. Late in the evening... it will be sunset in the game. It is very cool. It is a feel good game where you can design everything how you want it. You can fish, catch bugs/butterflys, swim and catch lobsters underwater, dig up treasure or bones, cut down trees for wood.... then use your materials for crafting new items. It is fun waking up in the morning to find that the flowers you have planted have sprouted up.... if u watered them! Lol

Neat getaway package

- Picturesque! - Lots to do and customize (especially with the new crafting system, Nook miles, and the landscaping capability)! - No more need to soft-reset the game to get that 'ideal' village start (past Animal crossing fans will get this). - Vaulting across a river is addictive, as is climbing ladders over cliffs. - The new villagers are adorable! - The museum in this game really draws you in. - Inventory space is abundant. - Any AC fans who love fishing will enjoy the range of fishing spots. To me, the main drawback is the limited NPCs/'amenities' in your island village (at least for the current versions of the game). There's no police station, no lighthouse, no clubLOL, the post office is combined with the airport, and even the good old cafe is gone (on a vacation island w/o Brewster!). As a result, your village may feel less 'bustling'. On the bright side, the omission of these amenities does open up the available space on the island for anything else your creative mind sets off to (or the island can just stay simple and clean). Hopefully, some old features might return in a future update! I highly recommend this game! It's perfect for winding down at night after working from home.

OCD people beware: Sharing one console for this game is your worst nightmare
24 June 2020

You can spend a lifetime playing this game & that's what I love about it. It's a good game to play on a do-nothing-day. It's like a cute little second life. People of all genders and ages could easily enjoy this (well when I say all ages maybe more like 8~11 and up because there is a lot of reading to actually fully understand gameplay). My only problem with this game is that only one person can own an island per console. Every other person who plays the game will have to live on the other person's island as a "second player" and doesn't get the full island owning experience of the game. It's like the developers are encouraging you to buy a full size nintendo switch for each member of you family! It's just not fair and a total inexcusable money grab. Regardless, I still love the game, and personally, I didn't mind playing as a second player, supporting my big sister's island like just another fellow animal villager. However, I'm writing this review now because I inevitably ended up buying my own switch console, and starting an island of my own because of the lack of control as a second player. That style of shared gameplay might work better for friends and families/couples that actually want to collaborate on a shared Island.

Positive game for players of any experience level
18 May 2021

Animal Crossing is for anyone, of any age. A 7-year-old can enjoy it just as much as a 23-year-old. Anyone who has a hard time finding video games that they can enjoy due to anxiety or depression, I recommend Animal Crossing New Horizons. It doesn't have the same kind of stress-inducing game mechanics that many videogames contain, and it's a very friendly and positive experience for players of any experience level. The Non-Player-Characters are much kinder in this version than in previous Animal Crossing games, so you don't have to feel guilty if you weren't able to visit your island for a few days- your villagers will be happy that you've returned.
