I gave it several months before writing this review, because to be perfectly honest I didn't trust it. I've tried plenty of other "anti-sweat" hand lotions that have had the complete opposite effect of what they advertise. But this stuff (more specifically, the 15% aluminum sesquicholorohydrate), finally, for the first time in my life, actually does what it promises - noticeably reduces hand sweat. It doesn't always STOP it entirely, mind you, but it doesn't claim to either (they even include the results of a study they did, along with a link to the full report, in the little pamphlet that comes with the lotion, which is a nice touch). Wash your hands first. After rubbing the lotion in across your whole hands for about 15 seconds, shake your hands around to air dry. They should feel dry at this point - if they feel sort of "sticky," use a little less next time. At this point you should be set - even running your hands under water or washing them throughout the day shouldn't hurt the effect of the lotion.At about $15 a tube it's a bit expensive, but I use so little of it at a time that it lasts quite a while (although that could definitely vary between people; I can only speak for myself). If nothing else, it's definitely worth taking a small risk on a product that has the potential to make your life better.

The feeling this lotion gives your hands is absolutely awful! I only used the recommended, pea-size amount, and my skin felt tight and very dry for hours after applying. It also left a residue on my skin that got on everything I touched. I am still washing it off my phone, keyboard, and writing utensils. Even using the product religiously, my hands still sweat so much you could see water beads forming on my skin - no results whatsoever.

About 5 minutes later I was amazed to find that my pencil was no longer sliding from my grip and my paper didn’t stick to my hand. I then decided to test the stuff a little bit and went to shovel snow, which is no light job. My hands were damp in my gloves but once I finished they dried out and I was amazed. I had never thought or even realized there was a way to fight hyperhidrosis. After the first day I decided I was going to give this a test for a school day. I put the lotion on at about 7:15 A.M., and didn’t bring the lotion with me to school that day. I wanted to see how long this stuff could last with a normal day schedule and I have to say it performed even better than I expected. My hands weren’t damp until around 1:30-2:00 pm and didn’t return to their normal lake-like state until around 3:00. I found this satisfactory for the amount of lotion needed and also for the amount of time that I didn’t have to worry about my hands. I put this product to a really harsh test and it held up to the standard that was described.The packaging explained if applied daily for a week or so that the effectiveness of the product would improve. This hasn’t been corrected yet, but I've only used the product for a week and a half, so it may change in the future. I recommend this product for anyone struggling with self consciousness over sweaty hands who can’t find anything that works or has never looked before. This product is reasonably priced, works and leaves the user satisfied. I will continue to buy this product to treat my problem.

I've had sweaty hands for I don't even know how long now. The only use it has ever been is for slapping the shit out of irritable people and leaving sweat on them. "What the hell is on your hands!?" They'll ask. I'll tell them sweat and leave them with the cryptic remark "Imagine having that on your hands all day." I'm literally a damn squid. It's also fun for mischief if you utilize it but that's another story.Anyhow, there are few products to no products I am grateful for as this product here. It is seriously effective. For me, any degree 70 or above made me sweat. With carpe, that situation became fiction. Whenever I sweat, it made everything difficult or stopped me from pursuing my interests. I also could not write on paper without my sweat seething through the paper, turning it transparent and also making it difficult to write. Lastly it would just simply make holding things difficult and uncomfortable, and also embarrassing whenever I had to touch other people.Don't let sweat control your life. Get carpe. I promise it works, or you can kill me.Just a fun idea if you also have sweaty hands. Go up and ask random people for high fives. It's the only pleasure you can get out of it; pure mischief. Working out/dance classes are more difficult because my hands and feet are so sweaty that they slip.Soooooo, I started putting this Dove Men's deodorant that I had on my feet every morning before putting on socks/tights/whatever for my day. My skin is also, of course, SUPER sensitive, so Dove Men's makes the skin of my armpits peel, and Old Spice gives me chemical burns, BUT the Dove Men's is working wonders on my feet! I love it. Highly recommend, and its cheaper than other options. My feet sweat less and my boots and socks dont smell like death! But after a week or so of deoderant-ing my feet, my HANDS started to sweat more and the worst part...they started smelling like sweat too. I figure that because it wasn't going out my feet, it started going out my hands. Nasty, right?SO, I decided to try this hand antiperspirant and its only been a few days, but its already working wonders. It has a slight de-odorizer smell to it, almost like gold bond foot powder, but it's not overwhelming. You do have to make sure your hands are COMPLETELY dry when you put it on, and give yourself at least a few minutes (I would give it 3-5 for best results) to let it fully absorb and dry. If you don't, then that's when you run into problems with it being sticky and tacky. It's winter here, and my hands are always at their most dry when I'm outside in the cold, so I've been keeping it in my car and applying when I drive somewhere. Usually in the am on my way to class and at night on my way home from rehearsal or work. But I'm going to be home all day today and it's warmer than it has been so I just applied when I woke up and sat with my hands in front of a mini fan like someone in a previous comment suggested, which I'm sure would be a solution for my summer weather friends out there. Mini fan and Voila! My hands are consistely more dry, not all the time of course but I did immediately notice a difference, and no more gross sweat smell. Different strokes for different folks, but I think this product is definitely worth a try if you struggle with sweaty extremities like I do.

I also did the shock treatment for a while back in the early 2000's and it was a long and painful process and the results were hardly worth all the trouble. Those were our options, people! Surgery or painful shock treatment. I still can't believe that a seemingly simple lotion has made such a difference in my life.I work as a photographer and holding a camera while my hands are sweating buckets is so difficult, not to mention embarrassing, as the sweat drips from hands and down my arms while I'm holding my camera to my face. Remember how I mentioned that my hands swell up too? When they swell up they also become super sensitive to the touch. So holding a camera while they are sweating and swelling is not only uncomfortable, but painful as well. Well I'm here to tell ya, this stuff actually works! I've been using it off and on for a few weeks now and I'm so thankful to the makers of this product for changing my quality of life. I use it when my hands are completely dry and I try to keep them from sweating for at least 30 minutes.As you can see in the picture, the areas where there are cracks in my hands are areas that are sweat-free. The areas where there aren't any cracks, are areas that have started to sweat but only a little bit. I took this picture about 4 hours into shooting a wedding outside in the 80 degree heat and normally under these conditions, my hands would be sweating/swelling and making my life miserable. As the night went on, the lotion started wear off but it was still not nearly as bad as it would be had I not used the lotion earlier that day.So even though Carpe lotion hasn't stopped the sweat 100%, its still enough that my quality of life has changed tremendously! I have a new-found confidence in almost every aspect of my life and my stress level has gone WAY down. It really is like living a new life without this dark cloud constantly hanging over my head. I'm going to end this with saying that if it hasn't worked for you, keep trying. Try to put it on when your hands are totally dry and do so at night before bed, in the morning, and once in the afternoon. Little side note, I have not used this on my feet yet. I wanted to see if it made a difference on my hands first before I purchased more for my feet. I'll be buying more to apply on my feet throughout the summer and I'll update this post and let you all know how it goes!

I struggled with overly sweaty hands for well over a decade now. It make me very self conscious, it had effects on my relationships with previous boyfriends. I figured it wouldn’t hurt to try the lotion. Not only does it work extremely well but since I had a bad experience with the carpe face lotion I had the idea of trying it on my face. I can’t say it completely stopped the sweating on my face but that could be due to my application errors. It didn’t cause any rashes or break outs for me. So if you decide to try it on your face please do so with caution and I will not be help liable for any negative effects that may happen lol
I purchased the underarm and hand cream. Carpe has helped reduce sweat, but I still find myself sweating quite a bit. The hand cream has not helped at all, even after following directions, my hands sweat right through after applying. I’m a little disappointed in what I got for the expensive pricing. I have also gotten rashes from the underarm cream. not sure if i’m allergic to an ingredient or not. I’m frustrated that I still haven’t found a product to help with my hyperhydrosis.
