Take this with a grain of salt as I am getting this as a non piano playing musician, mostly for my kids and I to learn on. I've never had formal piano lessons but have always wanted to learn. Both my younger kids are interested in starting it up as well, and when doing research, wanting a realistic feel and sound in an electric piano without breaking the bank, I kept seeing this Casio model pop up. I'd looked into buying a used electric, but honestly, for the cost of this new, it didn't make sense considering all the talk about the advancements over the years in weighted keys, sound and realistic feel. I will say, again as a novice, that this feels as close to a real piano as I've ever felt on an electric keyboard. I will say, again as a novice, that this feels as close to a real piano as I've ever felt on an electric keyboard. Yes, the keys aren't ivory (a plus in my mind) but the weight and response feels like a true piano. The sound is also remarkable. We play a bit on a relative's stand up, and the resonance and weight dependent response is truly impressive on this Casio. My drawbacks would be that the built in speakers are pretty weak, which is fine as long as you're not planning on playing this with any other amplified instruments (and of course, you can plug into a speaker if that is needed) and there is no built in recorder. Not a huge issue (there isn't a real piano around with this feature as far as I know), but it would be nice for my kids to be able to hear playback on what they've accomplished. Again, for the price, not in any way a deal breaker for us. While I'm sure there are much higher quality electric pianos available, for our situation, as a starter piano, I can't imagine a better deal. We opted to buy just the piano without the stand as I spent a little bit and built one that looks and functions similarly.

I have not yet even fully-unboxed the product yet but wanted to get this update submitted to help other buyers. Per Casio's web site for this product and per other reviews I found online, it appeared that this piano includes a sustain pedal even though this is not mentioned at all on the Musician's Friend product detail page. I even asked a MF rep this specifically and they said one was not included (assuming they were just reading the same detail page I was).In fact, this comes with a pedal! It's nothing fancy, but if you're on a budget and just want to get started, that's $25+ you don't need to spend on a separate pedal like the Proline PSS2, etc.I'll update my review in more detail later after I've had a chance to unbox and use the piano.

We purchase this keyboard for her daughter to take to college. It is a bit heavy, but a very sound unit, that was very affordable! Our daughter loves it.
SO excited to have this keyboard as I continue (as an adult) to learn to play piano. Very pleased with this purchase and the great price!
Purchased this to accompany students for piano concerti in my studio which does not have enough space for a second piano. Does the job. Easy to set up and breakdown. Musician's Friends had an excellent (sale) price and it delivered promptly. I wish the pedal worked better. It slides around when being used, and difficult to use.
Everything is good so far except the price. Price dropped after I finished my payment. ;(
Bought this to teach my children to learn piano and for me to play. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. It feels and sounds like a real piano. I highly recommend.
I was a music major in college 50+ years ago....... taught quite a bit of choir along the way but never had piano lessons........ had enough keyboard skills to warm up a choir. Now at age 70 I have the goal of playing piano in the praise and worship band at church. This CASIO seems to be the perfect vehicle for me to accomplish that goal. Great sound........ feels like any of the very best pianos I've ever touched..... great quality for the price especially. I comes with a sustain pedal AND a music rack that attaches to the keyboard, neither of which is advertised in most descriptions of the product.
For the money, excellent. I've been impressed with these Casio's pianos for years and finally broke down and bought one.Piano sounds are excellent.
