It runs circles around the antique and slow TI calculators! Touch screen- stylus or finger, drag and drop. It has every function you could ever want. My classmates are jealous because I am minutes faster on each problem. Color screen is amazing. Graphing? Just drag the equation onto the graph. Multiple equations graphed simultaneously in color.

A moderately priced, very powerful color calculator that allows the use of python! What's not to love? I've already written a couple of graphics examples, including the Mandelbrot set and a turtle graphics program. I've written these on my PC and transferred them over via USB, not wanting to hunt and peck to create them on the calculator itself.

Casio has a real winner here, specially moving from a difficult calculator (HP50G) to this one. The processor is very fast, even more so than TI80s series.

Certainly the most gorgeous of all the scientific graphing calculators, this one also provides the most real estate for graphing, especially if turned sideways. It makes graphs genuinely useful, because you can really see whats going on. It also provides enough real estate for the use of soft keyboards on-screen, which give immediate access to far more input symbols than other calculators. Its also modern enough to have a decently fast processor.
It is as described and properly wrapped up. They were kind enough to add the four batteries for an inmediatamente testing, thanks
This calculator has a very good CAS. Large screen real estate allows for writing complex looking, textbook style, algebraic expressions. Also, writing a program with a large screen real estate should be easy, but no. This calculator has a lot of functions and has potential to be a good calculator but for slow processing speed and poor documentation. It's too bad this calculator dosen't have a qwerty keyboard. Maybe the next generation calculator will have a faster processor and a better documentation and help documentation in the calculator.
Overall, it's the best value out there, and Newegg currently has the best price for it. Probably has a little too much for those who are in their first years of high school (you can get by with a Casio FX-CG50 or 9860GII) but is ideal for those in their last years in high school and throughout college. If you don't care about standardized tests and what something similar but more powerful than the FX-CG500, then get a Classpad (CP-400, which has QWERTY keyboard and a few other options). Have in mind that many schools have contracts with TI, so finding support for a Casio calculator will be a little hard to come by, but it makes up with its ease of use and price. The calculator come in good state. Was closed and with all the accessories like the cable. The model have the panel color
I will be super grateful too if you were able to inform me when this calculator will arrive to my place. . . this is a second one I have bought (Amazon), it was defective but called Costumer Service too late. . . to prevent such thing I ordered a second one to Casio and because Fedex I have not received this calculator which is resting for more than a week in Rialto Ca. Called Fedex CS and even them do not know when will arrive. You may track with # 417056578515.
This is the second time I buy this family of calculators from Casio. Last time I bought Classpad II about 13 years ago, and it served me very well. Although working with it can be confusing at first, when you learn how to work with it you will enjoy working with it. Casio FX-CG500 is much faster, and higher quality screen. All being said, the packaging has become awful, and you should download the manual from the website, contrary to Classpad. In general I advise to all engineering students to buy one of these, it is very good and can serve you ideally if you learn how to work with it.
