Beautiful! But less functional than other G-Shocks

It looks incredible, and a great beater watch that is also stylish. However; it's a bit too flashy for my taste. The digital display is also hard to read in most situations; which kind
of defeats the purpose for a G-Shock. If you're looking for an affordable watch that looks amazing and will draw attention in some cases, then this is great. Personally, if I'm
getting a G-Shock, I want one that walks the fine line between form and function. This watch leans HEAVILY on the form side, and that will be enough for a lot of people

I like the looks, functionality and robustness of the GA-B2100. The Tough Solar and Bluetooth seemed interesting new features over the original GA-2100 and tempted me to
buy one.I set up my watch and noticed the battery indicator dipped from ‘f’ to ‘m’. Rather than wear the watch I decided to leave it on a south facing window sill to recharge
thinking that it would only need a short burst of sun to top up to ‘f’ again. In the evening it sat by a light bulb. Six days later it was still on ‘m’. I returned it to Casio who have
been great to deal with.I am expecting a replacement soon. Hopefully my experience was a one off. My local Casio dealer said they hadn’t had any experience ... Show more

I have never owned a G-Shock before but own two previous Casio wristwatches, both old and almost vintage. So my purchase of another Casio had to come with a good
reason and I am delighted to say that the Casio G-Shock "casiOak" does not disappoint. Everything about this watch states it's intended purpose. Tough, accurate, good
looking, comfortable and manages to display various functions in a readable fashion. My particular choice has left me with a dark dial, which can be trifle annoying at certain
times but these are few and infrequent and this is more than made up for by the impressive and stylish overall appearance.

I have a suspicion the Bluetooth and tough Solar combo can’t contend with a British winter. I hope my doubts are dispelled by my replacement watch. My digital Tough Solar watch seems fine with murky winter light.... Show more

GM-2100-1AER silver

GM-2100-1AER in silver. A sophisticated take on cassioak series that looks at home in more places than one.Bought for work to handle accidental scrapes during manual handling and to look good doing so; ended up wearing the watch outside of work as my daily with the exception of dressier occasions.Has a nice weight to it despite having a slightly slimmer build than the resin models so feels good.Looks good in proportion to my 18cm/7inch wrist, with a dial that’s easy to read. The back light feature is quite underwhelming and doesn’t last for very long but I can’t see myself needing that very often. The watch comes well packaged with plenty of padding and the box is aesthetically pleasing. Great watch
24 June 2023
Great watch.Brilliant face with the brushed metal. Illumination on the hands is high quality - better than a watches I have that currently at £2500-3000.Superb for an everyday watch. Fits well casually, but can also dress it up a little - obvious not dress watch level. But to a degree. And it’s a gshock so will stand the test of time and will last for a long time. Also fits well on the wrist! If I could change one thing is that the buffed metal is to shiny. When brand new it does look a cheap coated watch. After it’s worn for a while hopefully this fade!... Show more

Great watch for the price.
10 May 2024
Great watch for the price. Solar - so no battery replacements and Bluetooth for correct time, so little to no maintenance required.Bought for my son’s birthday and although I worried it might be too big and chunky for him, it fits nicely. It would’ve got 5 stars but the display/packaging let it down - despite G Shock advising by email that it would arrive in a tin, it was in a cardboard box (which I understand for sustainability reasons), but just let customers know that. Perhaps sell the tin as an upgrade?... Show more

Love my watch, I always
22 April 2024
Love my watch, I always like the vintage one but I would say this is one of the best casio watch I have.Love the design, colour, style and of course durability of the watch. It got all the essential features I need and it's so easy to set up. Quite big on my wrist but not an issue for me. Overall I am a very satisfied customer.I wanted to buy the blue version to add to my collection but it’s long been out of stock. Hope Casio is reading this.Highly recommended.... Show more

The watch is a g shock, and as a result, Its absolute quality through and through. The pictures if this particular piece (as is often the case) really dont di it justice. No fault of the photographer, its a tricky piece to snap. It looks and wears like a watch twice its price. If you're half considering buying it, buy it. You will not be disappointed.Packaged perfectly and arrived promptly.5 stars.... Show more

Very cool with some flaws
1 August 2022
I just received this today. First impressions are that it looks very cool in the all black version. Surprisingly light (I have a couple of other all metal watches so comparing to them it feels light)Strap is comfortable but personally I feel it looks a bit cheap but that is an easy fix with a new strap (and a couple of 16 to 22mm adapters!). I also found the quick release strap pins quite fiddly to put the strap back on. The strap sits at around 45 degrees the watch so getting my big sausage fingers into the quick release part was tricky. Might not be an issue for most people as you won't often be taking the strap on and off.Visibility of the hands is fine in daylight and also in complet darkness as the hands glow enough to see them. Might not be an issue for most people as you won't often be taking the strap on and off.Visibility of the hands is fine in daylight and also in complet darkness as the hands glow enough to see them. It's low light where I struggle to see what time it is. The light feature looks cool as it lights up the face but I've noticed already that it lights up the edges of the led screen which can look a little like the hands making seeing the time confusing. The LED screen itself I find too small to see what is there (maybe because the inverted led hasn't enough contrast or my eyesight ain't what it used to be). That said I don't think I would ever use the features on the screen so it doesn't bother me too much.Set up with the app is cool and it was great to see the time adjusting automatically, but again a lot of features I most likely wont use.I sound like I am being negative but for what I bought this watch I am more than happy with its looks. And can put up with the foibles. I wanted a reasonably priced tough watch for everyday knocking around the garden and holidays when I can sweat, swim, get caught in rain etc and not worry about it, without it looking like a throwback from the 80s. Only had a it a few hours so can't comment on its solar charging and battery life but it was in the "low" range out of box and I put it straight on around 6h ago and have been inside that whole time and not even a bright day here? It's now saying "high" charge. All in all I would say if you plan on wearing this as your main watch and will be wearing in low light situations or the features that are displayed on the small screen are important (and your eyesight isn't the best!) Then I would recommend one of the other colour options. For my usage I think it looks pretty awesome and it's cheap enough that I may still buy one or !ore in different colours.... Show more
