There is a facility to locate a nearby phone by activating the phone ringtone using a button push on the watch. Additionally a single button push can get a phone to log a specific position with date and time for later review. Quite handy if you want to log progress on a long journey.The overall finish of the watch and bracelet are flawless. The polished operating buttons are larger than on standard models but are adequately protected from accidental operation by the case panels. Bracelet adjustment is facilitated by the use of small spring pins between the links, with four point micro adjustment at the clasp.While you could buy a plastic version of this watch including all the functionality for a lot less money, the display would be less sharp and the feel on the wrist somewhat less comfortable. Bracelet watches are a lot easier to put on and take off than strap watches. If the clasp should come undone for some reason, a bracelet ensures the watch still remains on your wrist.Is it worth paying all that extra money? The answer is definitely yes. The overall level of finishing and quality of the components raises this watch model from something you wouldn’t care about losing to a classic and very robust timepiece that should last for decades of daily wear. The steel case and strap may pick up dents and scratches over the years but this will only add to the unique character of the watch.This watch is essentially flawless. Set and forget pretty much forever and the watch will keep perfect time. What more do you want from a watch?

Durability:This metal G is kinda heavy but once u adjust the links to fit your wrist it is quite comfortable. I remove 6 links and it still weigh 150g. But comfortable to wear.Quality:Genuine metal g shock. The quality is superb.Recommend to buy from this store. Very good service and this is already my 3rd purchase from them. Cool watch with "geeky" vibe

This is my first digital watch purchase since I was a teenager 40 years ago (yes, even people over 50 sometimes still have some of their inner geek left). I was immediately taken in by its looks with the fancy steel case, the inverted display and its toughness, when this model was announced. Bought the one on the rubber strap because of my relatively thin wrists (the metal bracelet has fixed and links that stick a bit out to the side) and the reduced weight, plus I prefer the negative display. So, why only 4 stars instead of 5?- For this price and considering the fact that this is an anniversary model, I would expect Casio to use a sapphire crystal (even some of their below 200 dollar watches have one). I am not conviced that a sapphire crystal would shatter easier than a mineral one.- Even though I would still choose the inverted display over the normal one (it just looks better in conjunction with the black bezel part and black strap), I find that the legibility/viewing angle is not great, despite the claim of using a STN display. This is especially true in dimmer light conditions (of course there is always the built-in light).- In the hot/humid climate where I live, the skin under the watch/strap starts sweating rather quickly (not really a fault of the watch, I know). Since the rubber strap is specific to this model, it cannot be swapped for e.g. a perlon or Nato one.- Instead of the bluetooth functionality (which works well, but is IMO rather pointless), why not just make this a super-accurate watch by using a thermocompensated quartz movement? That would be a nice touch to make the anniversary model stand out. Not everyone can receive a radio time signal, and I don't want my watch to update its time by connecting to my phone every night (time synchronization can be turned off, though).

Looks much better in real life . Not as "blingy" as photos would suggest . Very attractive watch . Negative display seems to have a slight gold tint to the numerals as well . Very well made , but not too heavy in my opinion . Good price on Hogies . R.R.P. of £500 is a bit much .

Long Term Review

Yes everyone will think you’re wearing just the GMW-B5000 which isn’t a bad thing and something I love about it but make no mistake they’re not even close on craftsmanship and materials, it’s like comparing a VW to a Bentley nothing wrong with either. Ive owned this watch for nearly two years now and I love it feels every inch a £3k watch and often choose over a Submariner-Date. This stainless steel Casio Digital G-SHOCK has been long overdue, but well worth the wait. I look on it as my ‘dress’ G-SHOCK. It ticks all the boxes - well made, stylish, 200m WR, Solar Powered, Multiband 6, Bluetooth, LED Illumination, World Time - to name but a few. It is the perfect travel watch and swapping time zones is so straightforward. I wear it a lot (and the SS Casioak).

As for the service from Francis and Gaye, I am very happy the watch arrived well packaged and on time.As for the watch. It is hands down my favourite. I have circa 35 watches from Casio digital to Omega and usually when I buy a new watch I wear it for a few days then in the watch box it goes. Not with this. I was worried it would be underwhelming, especially as I have a number of g-shocks that cost a third of this. Boy was I wrong! In the week I have had this I haven’t taken it off once, in the flesh it is miles ahead of the cheaper resin g shocks. A must buy for g shock fan boys!

Before I start I should mention I am a G-shock fanboy and own 13 G-shocks from cheap plastic ones to a couple of MRG's so whilst for me I feel this is worth every penny and more, non fanboy's may not feel the same.This watch is incredible but then I would not expect any less for this price. The finishing is exquisite I have never seen a finish like this ever! It's a finger print magnet for sure but the oils from my fingers alter the way light reflects creating a kind of inky look, it's pure class. It wears so comfortably and although I only received it today I wore it out in the sunshine and it gave an almost dark purple hue depending on the angle I was looking at. What I love most about this watch is that I know what it is but no one else ever will. I also like having the Bluetooth connectivity and Multi-Band 6 radios which offers an ease in setting up and maintaining accurate time, alarms, and world times. I definitely recommend this watch for any lover of G-Squares.
