Was looking to refresh my cycling bib drawer and the Entrata was discounted so I dropped by MEC, tried them on and bought them. All of my previous bibs were Louis Garneau sublimated with cycling club graphics and text. The Entrata does a good job. You may feel a bit like Borat putting on his mankini at first though - the shoulder straps are TIGHT - but they've already stretched after the first ride. The chamois isn't as high end as higher priced Castelli models but it is perfect for my needs and more importantly, it doesn't feel like I have a diaper on.The fit is very euro and tight - and the front comes to about 0.5in below your belly button. So if you have a bit of a gut, you might want to go with another model/make otherwise you'll be spilling over (and it ... MoreWas looking to refresh my cycling bib drawer and the Entrata was discounted so I dropped by MEC, tried them on and bought them. Again, shoulder straps were really tight on first try, but after 1h working out on the indoor trainer, I could feel like they had already stretched. Although my waist is 31.5in and according to the sizing guide I could've gone with a Small, it would've been WWAAAYYY too tight.I plan on using these for indoor training and also as a bib under MTB shorts.

I read through the reviews and was almost deterred from buying these, due to all of the griping about their sizing. As it turns out, most of those complaints are probably the result of not taking a minute to take a few measurements before buying a $150ish piece of cycling kit. I'm of average build--34 waist and 5'10 height..I absolutely do not have a "climber" or "sprinter" build, nor a dad bod and fit into a pair of mediums--albeit a snug fit. A size up might've worked, but every bib that I've owned tends to loosen up over time and am partial to nicely broken-in race fit. While solid silicone band leg grippers seem to be absent from the industry's current offerings, the silicone grippers that these shorts have seem pretty good so far and I would rate them better ... MoreI read through the reviews and was almost deterred from buying these, due to all of the griping about their sizing. For reference, that means longer than eight hours during 20-30 Celsius temperatures. That's considerably longer than any of my other bibs. One reviewer complained about the bib not covering the genitals fully--this is partially true, but between how shrinkage occurs during a ride and how much easier/quicker it makes relieving myself on a roadside, the complaint in question is moot for me.Overall, after about 10 rides with these shorts, I have liked them a lot and am, frankly, annoyed that I let the bad reviews from people who don't use sizing charts deter me.

Male, 5’10”, 160 lbs, bought L. As others have said the straps are tight when standing off bike, not a real issue while riding my road bike. Overall fit for me is tight. I like the mesh piece between the back straps (should be cooler during hot summer temperatures). For me the front of the bib shorts comes up just below the belly button and given that the fabric at this point is fairly flexible it can be pulled down when nature calls as opposed to having to remove the jersey and straps. And, it case it matters to you, my shorts were made in Albania, not Italy as advertised.

I received these shorts as a gift, which had to be returned for a larger size. The sizing, as noted by others, is strange; even sized up, the shoulder straps are tight. Otherwise, the short is comfortable. But my main complaint is that the short has a lighter-weight and less-elastic fabric at the ends of the legs. After a few uses, the elastic has further weakened, such that the shorts flare out instead of gripping the thigh. They will be relegated indoor trainer use.
I'm 5'8" 170lbs with a 33 inch waist, 30 inch leg inseam. I would say I am of average male proportions, but not lean compared to those cycling at a high level.I originally ordered a Medium size and could barely get them on. The fit of the shorts were too tight for me - both around leg openings and bottom area. The straps felt too short and really stretched out to my liking. That being said, I have a friend who is same height, build, weight and inseam as me ok with Medium as he likes his fit "snug".I returned and got a Large size, fits much better. The leg grippers are the key for me, I own another pair of shorts without silicone leg grippers and they never sit right when I ride. I'm of the school where I don't like too much padding - your preference may differ, so these are good for me.
Overall good for the price.Fit is pretty standard castelli. I'm shorter at 5'5 so no issues with the strap length but good to keep in mind that these are designed for use on the bike and will break in with use.I can wear either small or medium (30 waist 31.5 hip) small if I want more compression snugger aero kind of fit or medium for more general use. Road with mediums on my longest ride to date at 250km so they are long ride worthy. Real difference with competizone ones is the level off compression so not necessary worth the extra cost. So for most one size up should do it though we're all different...Pad is great. Preferable to the more expensive castelli or PI options with good support and padding without feeling overly bulky. First off I'm shorter at 5'5 so can't speak to should strap issues that other might experience, but they are also designed for an on the bike position. Something to keep in mind.I didn't find them wildly tight. Medium is more comfortable for me if I want less compression (waist 30 and hip 31.5) but small works and isn't too tight either. So for most 1 size up should probably work but of course course we're all different. A few friends who also have these have found 1 size up to be good. They're also taller with no strap issues noted.Pad is great. Actually as good or better than some of castellis higher end ones or those more expensive ones from PI. Same with a bit of fabric thinning on the backside. But still that's after some proper total mileage. Leg grippers are straight up and do the job.VS the competizione you are really getting more compression with that one. I didn't notice much difference. Pad is the same. Cheaper to go with these. Also have the plain shorts version but bibs are always better and stay in place way better VS shorts.Overall solid for the price point with little reason to spend more honestly.
The shorts on this are very nice. Good material, good details and features. I think I’m a little tall for them, so the suspender straps that come up over the shoulders feel somewhat uncomfortably tight, and they roll together a lot rather than saying flat, which adds to the discomfort. Maybe if I was a little shorter this wouldn’t happen, but I don’t have the issue with the straps rolling together and getting bound up and creating more pressure with other brands, so I think there’s more to it with this
This is the first bib I've bought, despite cycling pretty seriously for a few years. It definitely makes a HUGE difference; that being said, I don't think I could comfortably ride more than 35-40km in this. For me, I would've liked more thicker padding at the front, as I find that I'm still experiencing a significant amount of discomfort in that area (not nearly as much as before, but still a considerable amount). The padding on the butt is fantastic and makes me feel like I'm riding on a cloud, though. Moreover, the fit is a bit smaller than the chart says. I'm 168 cm tall, and by all the measurements in the chart, I *should* be an XS, but the S fits me perfectly. So, if you're on the fence for what size to get, get the larger size for sure. Firstly, finding a set of bib shorts that fits you comfortably can be a long and expensive process, but ultimately the fit is most important. These Castelli Entrata work for me. I've tried many brands over the past few years. High-end, low budget, and many in between. Each persons fit will be obviously be different, but as a 5'8", 165 lb "stocky" guy with a short leg to long torso ratio, these fit nicely. Beyond the fit, they are clearly well made and the chamois is very comfortable. Not too thick, which I hate on other bib shorts. Used them on 4+ hour rides with no issues. I purchased two pairs, both on sale and these are now my go to bibs. Not necessarily my favourite design, but that is always going to be secondary to comfort and performance.
