I have the gilet and the jacket in the Perfetto RoS range and they are both great pieces of kit. Shower proof rather than properly waterproof, but repel water fantastically. They are lightweight, the cut of the fabric panels are designed for maximum movement and flexibility so the jacket is an ergonomic fit bit isn’t tight and restrictive. This is not a cheap jacket but I feel that the quality of it is worth the money. I’m a great believer in buy cheap, buy twice so one great jacket is worth more than two average ones. The best part of this jacket is the ability to take the sleeves off depending on the weather. As with all Castelli gear, the sizes are ridiculous. I’m 6’4 with a 34 waist and went for an XXL whereas in most other brands I am an L. Basically get a size ... MoreI have the gilet and the jacket in the Perfetto RoS range and they are both great pieces of kit. I bought the Castelli Perfetto RoS Convertible in Savile Blue in Large. I am about 81kg, 96cm chest and 96cm waist. The size is spot on when on the hoods or the drops. I really feel the cold on my arms at speed, but the Perfetto with Pearl Izumi thermal sleeves kept me just nice in Perth, AU. The reason for only 4 stars is the lack of silicon grip on the tail. My Gabba 3 has silicon, the Perfetto does not, and the tail rides up on the drops, and even on the hoods. It doesn't sound like much but gives me a cold spot on my lower back, even with my BBB base layer. I have not ridden in rain yet, but not having a silicon gripper like the Gabba could be a deal breaker for some people.

I purchased the Perfetto, a few month's ago. After using it during variable, chilly mornings/evenings, winds/rain,etc. I can safely say it was money well spent. Really light weight, nice waterproofing, wind resistance is really good too. Great bodyform fit, without being crazy tight-fit. Nice zipper, stretchy fabric and quality made throughout. If you can spare the cash, highly recommended!I purchased mine in the lovely navy blue colour from Sigma, excellent sales, customer service. Received it within a few days of ordering to Jersey, Channel Island's.

I?m 6? 185 lbs and wear a large in the vast majority of brands. After reading lots of reviews I decided to go 2 sizes up and got an XXL. It was comfortable in the shoulders and arms but had too much excess material in the midsection, so I sent it back and ordered an XL in orange. The XL fits snug in throughout with only a very slight amount of excess material in the back which becomes form fitting when I?m actually riding. I typically wear race fit jerseys and find this jacket to be as tight as I want while still allowing layers. My advice is if you want it close to race fitting do not go more than 1 size over. Fit of this XL is very close to my Giordana FRC Sette long sleeve in large. Fit of this XL is very close to my Giordana FRC Sette long sleeve in large. I have been riding in this jacket from the low 30s to the upper 50s with both long and short sleeve base layers and with winds from 0-25 mpg. I generally ride at high intensity and historically have had issues with overheating. This jacket has solved those and kept me comfortable in the gusty variable winds of Colorado. The side vents are awesome and allow some great ventilation without compromising aero. A slight unzip on the front zipper allows some great venting also. The orange color is definitely bright orange and not at all the more burnt orange the pictures show, but I?m okay with that. Overall, this jacket is worth every penny and for me is the perfect piece of kit for riding in 35-55F. The only thing I would change is to have a phone specific pocket in the back or 3 pockets instead of 2.
I love the brand for the quality of their materials and their look. But unless you are a skinny boy, just avoid it, or at least avoid the "rossocorsa" line. 5'11" and I admit not to be the skinniest guy out there, nor the second, as a matter of fact, I have an athletic body... ok maybe I HAD an athletic body and now in my late 30s I relaxed a bit and put a little extra protection layer over my muscles, you know for the cold winters. But boy this wears small!!! I am a medium in almost every brand for t-shirt, shirts, and pullovers, 33 waist although my thighs have always a little bigger than the norm. Went 1 size up and can't even fit my arms in this thing! The jacket itself is sick tho!!!I was almost going for the XL or XXL but I know for a fact that is going to ... MoreI love the brand for the quality of their materials and their look. Material and look are much better in real life than in the pictures. It loses 1 star only because Castelli's chart is just wrong! Don't follow their recommendations or you'll end up returning your purchase. Or if your order it and you are not as light and skinny as a feather, just go for a couple of sizes up (or order them all and keep the only one that fits)!
This jacket is perfect for the winter: the fabric is thick enough to keep you warm (rode in -3 Celsius last week with just a merino base layer and my body was a good temperature without feeling hot and sweaty or cold and clammy). It can cope with rain - I've got caught out in it and it has kept me dry is short and heavy rain showers. I've obviously put on a proper rain cape jacket in more persistent wet conditions but don't feel the need for short ones. And the colour (I went for the yellow because of winter light conditions) is great - you can see me easily so I am hopeful that this will help me stay safe from visually challenged drivers. The fabric certainly does protect you from the wind also - I'm very happy with this aspect. The fabric certainly does protect you from the wind also - I'm very happy with this aspect. No wind proof Gillet needed generally now.I have not tried it without the long sleeves attached (mine is the convertible version). I think that this could be good for the spring and autumn where you can whip the sleeves off if you warm up a bit much. Only time will tell if that is really a good thing. There are zips with vents for times when you feel you are getting too hot. Not needed yet. The front zip is efficient - no complaints. There are two rear pockets. I find rear pockets quite hard to access for food wearing winter gloves and these are no different. If there was one thing I'd try to improve, it'd be that. The fit is typical Castelli - but slightly less snug around the waist in my view. I bought the normal size I wear for Castelli tops and it fits perfectly. In short, this is an excellent purchase. If it's really freezing, you could stick a Gillet over it or pop your rain cape on to help. But generally one or two base layers and this and you are toasty. Love it and recommend it wholeheartedly.
Have used for a month now. And can confirm it is perfetto indeed. It struggles when temperatures dip below its design range but that's not what it was design to do.While it not a waterproof jacket. I found it it was waterproof enough! And even when the water soaked tru which was very minor compared to cheap dedicated waterproofs. I was still warm and could easily carrying on riding when other jackets I might of just went home cause I felt miserable. The removable sleeves also add a extra layer layer of versatility as you can remove them on the fly and stay cool. Along with the ventilation zips this coat gives your a ton of options of controlling your cooling than just opening your coat and causing drag. The only really negative is the 2 big pockets. I bought this because I heard of the incredible reputation of the Gabba as a foul weather jersey that changed everything in the cycling world and I wanted it's long sleeve cousin. I live in a place that's wet and windy for much of the year so, while this Perfetto is expensive, I figured that it'll be a good investment and I'll be getting a lot of use out of it. And, so far, I am loving it.I've used it in the dead of night on short rides to work and it's been great (though it was summer). I've also used it in a long ride where the heavens started opening up about halfway through. My friends mentioned they were soaked through and cold by the end of it. I wasn't wearing waterproof trousers so my legs were also soaked and cold but I have to say that the jersey did so ... MoreI bought this because I heard of the incredible reputation of the Gabba as a foul weather jersey that changed everything in the cycling world and I wanted it's long sleeve cousin. I wasn't wearing waterproof trousers so my legs were also soaked and cold but I have to say that the jersey did so well that the moisture inside the jersey was probably just my own sweat. I wasn't wearing a base layer either. I think the temperature was around 15-17 degrees.I cannot attest to its windproofing capabilities because I haven't been in truly windy rides yet (I expect I'll find out during winter) but I can categorically say it does its job in wet weather that you'll feel comfortable. I am very confident that when the winter temperatures come, it'll be great with a base layer.Just be sure to look at the sizing chart before buying. This is my first item from Castelli and I would have bought a small if I hadn't looked but their sizing chart as me as medium. It's a little tight on my shoulders but, otherwise, the medium fits well.
It could be a little early for this review - as I've only done 1 major ride in the jacket. However I've been prompted by Sigma! The ride was 40k in your typical London chilly rainy fall day. Temp about 12º and the rain between spitting and downpour. We road 2 hard fast laps through Richmond. I had the sleeves zipped off and a 150 Merino T-shirt on underneath.I was warm and comfortable the entire time. When we got back; I really didn't know if I was going to be wet or dry under the jacket. As I was very comfortable!Turns out I was soaked - though the inside of the jacket seemed dry?!? So I"m not sure if it was my sweat, or the rain - but the windproof bit of the jacket kept me warm. (had to return the L for an XL)
Had to wait ages for it to come back in stock, however, worth the wait.Great combination of warmth and breathability. Windproof and shower proof. Ideal for spring / autumn rides with single layer below. Not tried yet but looks like it will be fine this a thermal layer below in cooler months too.
