Riding off-road is a brilliant way to get away from it all and enjoy the countryside. However, your usual high-performance cycling jersey can be a delicate thing, with pulls and snags making it less than pristine after a few off-road rides. The Polvere Jersey retains the same characteristics as your favourite Castelli road jersey, namely superb fit, low weight and excellent moisture management, but tougher fabrics are used for to take on the rigours of dirt and gravel riding. The arms and shoulders, usually the first places that suffer damage, are made from a stretch-woven fabric, giving you a sleek fit but one that's tougher than normal jersey fabrics. Meanwhile, the main body is closer to a traditional jersey fabric but it's one that fared best in Castelli's snag tests. As with all Castelli jerseys, the Polvere is quick to deal with any sweat too, keeping you dry and fresh when you're hitting a tough gravel climb. And being quick-drying you're more comfortable as you speed down the other side. Castelli doesn't characterise this as a 'gravel-specific' or ‘off-road’ jersey as it's brilliant both on and off the road. But if you do love to venture onto your favourite dirt trails it's tougher than any road jersey and puts much off-road specific gear to shame too. Time to explore.
