When I have seen the results of Castrol Full Synthetic, I purchased it by the case! To see those gears so beautifully clean on my Toyota Sienna, It's just a beautiful thing! I drove over a year without an oil change using this oil! Let's do the math! Regular oil requires 4 oil changes per year. Cost ( including mechanic costs ) approximately about $200.00 - $250.00 using cheap oil. Time spent at the mechanics approximately 4 hours. Using Castrol Full Synthetic 1 oil change per year = $54.00 that's what I paid ( 8/1/2024 ) for the oil because I purchased a single 5 quart jug and mechanics fees maybe $30.00 so $84.00 total. Savings $116.00 and time saved away from the mechanics, 3 hours. This stuff is so good I might even buy another case, so I won't have to worry about having great oil for another 7 years! No wonder my old Toyota keeps on going, and going, and going, and going! It's a Happy Vehicle!

This motor oil is the best but never buy this product from advance auto parts tru Walmart website. you can't return it through walmart, you have to contact the seller who is not interested in talking to you at all. Only after a few emails will they inform you that you should contact walmart or take it to their store (advance auto parts) where you have to make a complicated phone call to the customer center. it is set up very badly just to discourage you from returning the thing. I will never shop at Advance Auto Parts again

I was using the other 10k mile oil and changed oil every 10k miles on a 2016 Yaris that was probably sitting who knows when and for how long. I noticed a mild rough idle and gas consumption dropped to as low as 27 mpg. Someone insisted to change every 5k miles so I did. after 2 oil changes with this better extended performance oil, my mpg whent up more to than before. To mid 30s mpg. I will try push the oil to 7.5k miles as it looks too clean when I change it.
Everyone has their favorite oil. For me, Castrol is at the top of the oil chain. I only used Castrol synthetic in my old Suzuki GSX-R 1100 street bike for several years and it still ran like new when I sold it. The Castrol 5W30 will be going in my 2024 Ford Maverick XLT 2.0L Ecoboost engine on the first oil change.
2013 Malibu eco 60,000 miles. Because of the known issue with the weak piston rings and severe blow by on the 2.4L engines, I was adding about 2.5 quarts of oil in 5000 miles. Check oil every 500 miles. Switched to mobile 1 full synthetic at about 35000 miles. Nothing changed. Changed to Pennzoil at 45000 miles. Used about a quart and a half in 5000 miles. Changed to Castrol edge titanium full synthetic at 55000. Always Used same weight. 5w30. It has used less than a quart in 5000 miles and although it’s hard to measure by eye it does look like less blow by from port on valve cover when hot at idle. Looks like this is the new oil for the Malibu from here on out.
I have been using the Castrol EDGE Euro 5W-40 A3/B4 Advanced Full Synthetic Motor Oil for my 2013 VW Golf for many years. It satisfies VW 502 00/505 00 specifications and is the most reasonably priced engine oil on the market. I strongly recommend it for VW cars.
It's better than the old Castrol 5w-40 as it meets most of the latest European manufacturer specs. It may still be a little behind the Castrol 0w-40 blend, but it's better than a google search will make you believe (always look at the dates of oil quality discussions online). And like most other oils these days, buying the 5 quart jug from Walmart saves you a LOT of money.
For those of you who do NOT trust this oil, You're a FOOL! No Joke! I just had my valve cover gaskets change and everything, all the gears were beautifully clean and this is after I had driven over 15,500 miles without an oil change! I was expecting to see sludge like crazy. NOPE!!! All I have seen when taking off the valve cover was perfectly clean gears with a golden tint ( which is from the oil itself ) I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!! The mechanics scoffed at me for going 15,500 miles without an oil change, then they had seen with their own eyes what a HUGE DIFFERENCE A GREAT OIL CAN MAKE! I don't know about other "Full Synthetic Oils" but I do know about Castrol EDGE Extended Performance rated to go 20,000 miles. This stuff is the "Real Deal!"
I've been using Castrol syntec for years. The best oil in my opinion. Mobil 1 is right there as well. I like the new gold bottle with 20,000 miles between oil changes or one year. I never get that far as I will not past 8k before I have to do an oil change. Nice to know the formulation is long lasting though.
