I’ve been using Castrol Edge in my Astra since I can remember. I had to redo the rocker gasket at 320,000 km and this motor is so clean inside it’s ridiculous. No gunk anywhere at all . Combined with a liqui moly oil flush at every oil change and Shell V Power as my fuel choice there is nothing better in my opinion. Car runs quiet and also gets great fuel mileage with this oil.

Have used Castrol lubes for over 60 years. In that time, have had engines loose coolant, overheat, and run with coolant contaminated Castrol oil. Yet never had any measurable engine damage! Am aware that Castrol is now part of BP, but have every reason to believe quality of product continues.

I require 9 Litres for the X5 so I mix 5 litre of the 5W 40 + 4 litre of the 5W 30 for summer and reverse volumes for winter. Thoroughly recommended for any vehicle. Does what it is supposed and stays honey golden up until about 5000kms ( I change at 6000kms but if it's on one of my long travels out back happy to change if I have to at about 10000kms). This Xy E70 has done 230000kms, 500000 on the previous E53. No blue smoke, no oil consumption between oil changes except for the usual oil leaks (about 100ml between changes, weeping vale cover gasket). Cheers Gaz

Castrol make a superior product with Edge. I have used this in my R36 and Astra and the engine always feels just that little bit more free through the entire power band. Years ago I used Castrol in my VL Turbo and would never change now because of fuel economy and protection this oil provides on cold starts and under extreme pressure.Forget Penrite,Shell,Nulon,Valvoline ..I’ve been buying it for years and never looked back.
This oil is recommended by BMW for my car. I have had a few BMWs including an M3 and the Castrol oils have kept my engines, including the hi-tech VANOS variable valve timing systems run flawlessly. My 25 year old M3 engine looks like new inside. I would not change oils and risk that changing. It didn't hurt that it was a very good price at Repco. The COVID pickup at my local Repco store is very smooth too.
Castrol 5w-30 fully synthetic + titanium is a product that has proven itself in many trials. The name Castrol is very respected and trustworhty, so when Supercheap has this oil on special at such a low price, I buy at least 2 containers as I always change my oil at 6 months and at 12 months with a service, and I supply Toyota with this oil at the 12 months service. I am always watching out for Supercheap specials on line.

With my regular short stop-go trips, oil gets to operating temp (temp gauge hits the middle) in about 5-10 mins. I accidently ran this oil for about 16,000km once and there was no perceivable difference in engine feel/performance after replacing the same oil back in; suggesting high quality additives. This brings me on to the final point. I wanted to find out if this was a "true" synthetic blend. These proper blends contain group IV base oils that consists of polyalphaolefins (PAOs), which gives it its true synthetic base property. Just don't be fooled by the "full synthetic" in the name and associate that with larger oil change intervals. Oil and filters are cheap, engine is not.
I use this on my H6 Subaru Liberty and change every 5000kms for peace of mind. I've easily gone through at least 20 bottles of this over the past few years. The car runs beautifully and not at all like it has a quarter million kms on it. Has kept the motor very healthy and the oil always looks great when I drain it.
Qaulity versus budget is more often than not the way we choose parts and products to care for our cars!Castrol edge isn't the cheapest out there but it's definitely punching above it's "weight" in regards to what it provides your engine! Quiet running engine with a smooth idle, weather stop and go traffic or out in the country soaking up the highway km's, it's the perfect all rounder!Has been my oil of choice for years in my daily driven 190kw calais with 170,000km it still purs like a kitten!So for all of the above reasons I rate Castrol edge 5 stars
My bmw 135i n55 only gets this stuff this is what is recommended for my car and its stated on my oil cap. Would not even bother putting anything else in it. Bit pricey but well worth the money. Also used it on my older model lexus 2jz and it is only as good as its owner.Give it the right stuff and you wont have issues.Castrol for the win ;)
