Great extension to allow 6 players to play the game. We had the older edition (not 5th) of the base game but the extension (5th edition) worked (fit-wise) as long as you don't mind slight differences with the illustration. It's definitely longer play but the 'special building phase' rules between turns helps with the gameplay. GameKings quick to process this order - thanks!

It's fun packed in a box. It's like D&D turned into in a board game, with cards instead of dice and DM. Takes time to unbox and set up (huge amount of token and cards), but this is fun too. Quality of parts is top notch. Gameplay is amazingly designed. You can choose how much you role play, but you can definitively role play if you want. Feels like a campaign setting for D&D.

This package is a lot smaller than the original box that Catan comes in. That is how you will know it is the expansion, and not the original game.It allows for 2 more players, which is great. Make sure you read the add-on instructions for placement of the dice numbers; you won’t use the numbers from the original game. But, that did not stop our gang from putting 2 numbers on each square. Great family fun. As my college son said, “democracy and capitalism are alive and well.” Of course that is after he won!

There are five people in my household, so this is a must have for us. If you have a large family or lots of friends that love playing games, you can't play Catan without this.
What's better than Settlers of Catan? Having more people play! This expansion makes the game hit my table a whole lot more often since we usually have at least 5 people playing games any game night.I really like the addition of the rule that everyone is has an option to buy at the end of each other players turn. It keeps the game moving and makes it more intense. I also don't think 5-6 players would work without it. It would be too long between turns to get cards out of your hand and not get robbed.Definitely worth purchasing
It had everything and definitely can be used. However all the colours are faded compared to the original (main game) and also the connecting pieces don't fit exactly. Overall quality is much worse compared to the original one, however a bit cheaper than normal and can definitely be used to play the game.
If you already have and love the base game this is a great addition. In the past my friends and I would double up teams if we have too many, but with the expansion we don't need to. I thought it might be hard to add people with spacing and resource issues, but they do it well. There are a few rule tweaks, like building after someone else's turn, that help move play along.
So we grew up with Monopoly, Life, Clue, etc. I wanted to get into "real" board games and this is the first one I tried. It's more complex but there are plenty of online streaming videos that can help shortcut the learning curve. This is a great game that even my young kids could play 9-10 years old when they first tried. There are lots of expansion packs for more players and scenarios. Highly recommend to start.
Have read where others have bought off brand extension packs and were not satisfied with the quality. Well, this one is an exact match. I was worried about the quality of this one also, but since its the Made in the USA version it matches perfectly, almost as if it came with the original game pack. The extension came with a green and brown set along with all the supporting cards, placements. The lettering on all cards and placements matched the original exactly where you cant see any difference in size, shape, or letters. Highly recommend.
If you don't know this game you should. If you haven't played it yet then try it! There are places where you can play these games in most cities so that you could probably try it before you buy it. If not, buy one anyway and if you don't really like it you could surely find someone to give it to who would! It takes a little effort to learn, but not too much - even my eight year old daughter loves it! It doesn't usually take as long as monopoly can and it's certainly faster than games like Alies and Axis. It does seem a little expensive for being mostly cardboard, but, it is worth it for the amount of fun you get, especially considering how important it is to have your kids spend time away from cell phones and video games!
