Catit 2.0 Flower Water Fountain 3 litres

We always have fresh water in the kitchen and having a fountain is an easy way to do that. This fountain is cute, well-built and works nicely with or without the flower center. (We currently have a dog using the fountain so the flower is unnecessary.) My one complaint is that the fountain motor hums more loudly than I would like. I can usually get used to a noise that is around all the time, but this one is just a little too loud. If your kitchen is busy and full of other sounds, you might not notice it at all. Our kitchen is quiet and the noise is a bother.

Goose spent a day or so perplexed by the whole thing. She put her paws in it and then tracked water all over the floor. But once she got the hang of it...she loves it. The water is always fresh and it goes for almost a week before I have to refill it. It's fairly quiet and the sound of running water is actually rather soothing. I love the mat which has raised edges around the food bowl making it hard to tip over - no need for a separate mat. All the food stays right in the bowl. I didn't realize that I needed this until I made the impulse buy - but you really do need this if you have a cat.

I have to admit, the floral design is pretty cute and definitely has visual appeal!My first concern (and the reason my 3rd cat doesn't like it) with this water fountain is that there isn't as whole lot of space between the stream of the water and the bucket, so if your cat is particularly big or doesn't like getting his face wet, he might struggle to drink from this. I noticed it was easiest for my petite female cat to drink from this without issues.The bucket is also very tall, so while this is good for cats who can't or shouldn't bend, it would make it difficult for kittens to drink. It also lacks a 'bowl' style area to drink from, meaning if your cat prefers to drink from the bowl of water (included in most cat fountains) they will be disappointed with this fountain.Cleaning and refilling -This cat fountain is a dream to clean. It's really easy to take the plastic bits out, wash everything and put it back together. There's nothing complex about it compared to other cat fountains I've used (around four different models) and they really have made the cleaning easy. I love that the pump and cord can be detached completely, so you don't have to worry about getting the plug wet while washing it, which makes everything easier.One negative is that it's totally covered, so you really can't tell when you need to refill it and it'll take you a bit of learning curve to recognise the 'burbling' sound that means it needs to be filled. I wish they had some external way to tell, as I have a bad back and can't easily bend to check it often. Refilling is very easy though, no mechanisms or confusing parts required.Noise -This has to be one of the quietest cat fountains I've ever used. My current fountain (The Drinkwell Platinum) is a noisy thing, as the streams are quite strong. The streams on the Catit flower fountain are more of a trickle and as a result there really isn't much noise to speak it. No buzzing, humming or loud water, it gets an A+ for noise.Overall this would make a great fountain for anyone looking to try a cat fountain for the first time. It's very easy to use, not noisy and is also cute! The price point makes it a great option to try out these devices (It's one of the cheapest I've seen), after all, you always have the option to upgrade later. Cat fountains like this are a must for male indoor cats on a dry food diet to prevent urinary crystals and they're also a great option to prevent cats who like to 'splash' in the bowl as they usually want moving water. I'd recommend this for a first-time cat fountain owner, but if you've experienced a more advanced fountain, this doesn't offer anything special.SUMMARY -Pros+ Cute design.+ Three different water flow options.+ Easy to fill.+ Easy to clean.+ Very quiet.+ High off the ground for cats who shouldn't bend.+ Pump and cord can be separated for safer cleaning.Cons- Difficult for bigger cats or cats with wide faces to drink easily from the streams.- Streams are pretty weak.- No 'bowl' style option for cats who prefer not to drink directly from stream.- Bowl is too high for small kittens.- No way to see the water level.Update for AFTER A YEAR OF USE - Still working great. I've noticed my cats use this one over the Drinkwell Platinum now. So while they didn't prefer it at first, it's now their main fountain. The fountain doesn't get that hard crust over time that some of the metal ones get.

Easy assembly

Bought this on sale for a really good price. It was easy to put together. I was looking for something not as bulky to fit into a smaller space and this was it. I wish the cord was just a little bit longer so I could plug it into the outlet I have above the kitchen counter, but it is just a little too short for that (from the floor to counter outlet)I guess I didn't realize until after purchase that this does not have a "pool" for the water and cats have to actually drink from the "running" water that comes out of the flower. I guess my cat does not like that, since she hasn't touched this fountain at all since I put it up. Looks like it might have been a waste of money :(

Gets Dirty Fast

It was great when it was clean, but got dirty so fast no matter how well I scrubbed it. Bugs would end up growing in the filter, even less than 30 days (the box says to replace filter every 30 days). I think it was only a week or less and the filter had little worm looking things in it. My cats refused to drink out of it. Constantly cleaning it! And it was a pain to clean all the time too, taking apart the pieces and putting them back together all the time. I should have splurged and bought a ceramic fountain instead. You get what you pay for.

So glad I decided to try this little fountain. It is super cute and doesn't take up a lot of room, which I love. It is quiet and you don't even hear it running. We got it because our kitten wasn't really drinking out of his bowl. Instead he decided to start drinking out of the toilet or he would come running when you turned on the faucet in the bathroom and hop up on the vanity and drink out of the sink. So I knew I had to get him something that was way more sanitary. Did some looking and found this. Super easy to put together. It sits perfectly next to his bowls and he actually drinks from it when he isn't playing with the water. LOL He is still very much a kitten and thinks everything is a toy. Looks cute, and my weird cats love to play with the water!

I have 2 cats, one of whom is a maine coon mix who loooves to play with running water. He has big ol' floofs of fur between his toe beans, and he likes to dip his paws in water and then lick the water from his floofs. I previously used a metal teardrop-shaped fountain that had a simple chanmel for the water to run down into a bowl, but it kept getting clogged with his fur. A regular water dish just led to a mess, and him begging me multiple times a night to refill it. I'm on day 3 with this catit fountain, and so far so good! The filter is catching any stray fur and other debris so it's not gunking up the water reservoir, and he loves sticking his paw on the dome under the flower. For the heck of it, I tried dipping my fingers under the stream and tasting it. It's cool to the touch and tastes cleaner than from the tap - and again, I filled it 3 days ago and haven't touched it since. It's still more than half full! Overall, no problems so far, big recommend if you have a picky cat - or multiple cats who like to drink in different ways.

Love this Fountain

Purchased this fountain as a replacement for my Catitt Fountain that previously wore out. It is the exact same fountain. I and my cat both love the gentle stream of water and she missed it for the few days it took to get a replacement. I also love the water level feature that I can see at a glance and dint have to constantly open it to check the water level. Will be getting another one to have “on hand” for when this new one wears out It might inky be about 4 months but one must remember it is circulating water 24/7. Highly recommend this fountain

Moldy filter, slimy water

While the design is pretty cute, this product is just not good, and not just because only one of my cats went near it.The fountain was fine the first few weeks, but after that I started running into an issue during cleaning where the components would feel slimy. When I was cleaning it a week ago the water looked murky even though the filter was just 2 weeks old at that point. Earlier today, the water was once again murky and also slightly bubbly (kind of reminded me of sea foam). I soon noticed that the filter had a pink tint to it, which I can only assume to be red mold.Unfortunately, we just missed the 60 day return window so I guess it's just going in the trash at this point.
