Neither of my 2 cats would eat it. They sniffed the food and that was it. I figured maybe they weren’t very hungry during dinner so I just left their food dishes out thinking maybe they would come back at some point to eat it. After a few hours I saw that neither of the cats touch their food. I kind of suspected my oldest cat wouldn’t eat it because she’s a little picky, but not even my garbage disposal of a cat (my youngest) would eat it and she will literally eat ANYTHING… except this. I was really disappointed because I wanted to find them a wet food alternative to Tiki Cat that was a little less expensive. I wanted to give this brand a shot but I wish I had listened to the other reviews.

Cats are so weird. My 3 year old girl has been a picky eater since the day I brought her home. She has rejected entire brands of cat food, hates anything with eggs, hates cheese, and hates human food. It’s gotten to the point now where I can usually tell if she will reject a new food based on the way it smells. While I am not thrilled about the thickening gums, I also have no control over what my cat will eat. I’ve tried to feed her high quality premium cat food with no success. This is one of the few flavors she likes and the ingredients are fine. It’s chicken, not mystery meat and it’s not exactly cheap cat food. She’s usually a pate girl but she also loves gravy. I just add a little warm water to make more gravy and she happily eats the chicken after she licks up ... MoreCats are so weird. I have both the old and new label cans and she eats both.

My cats love Weurva! Opening up the can is smelling something delicious that would come out of my own kitchen. This particular brand is not a pate but shredded with moisture that cats need. Look at the ingredients! No carageneen, potato starch or tapioca. Just quality ingredients. If your cat struggles with hyperthyroidism due to phosphorus levels, than this is perfect. Too many products with high phosphorus levels are causing health issues for our fury family members. The protein content which cats need is high and a quality protein. Yes, a bit pricey but aren't they worth it? By the way, the higher the protein and the less carbs is healthier and does keep them in shape and less hungry. Thank you Chewy for carrying Weurva and many other high quality brands!

Moving up to the premium brands is noticeable in food quality, as a human. But cats are gonna cat, and you could serve them a meal from Chef Ramsey that they'd turn their noses up, just to do it. But this flavor works for my two. Consistently, it is mostly to completely eaten. It is my fallback for my cat sitter for those days when I have to leave town. "if being difficult, feed them the Chicken Frick 'A Zee"
This is a great food based on ingredients and nutrients profiles and I was hoping my cats would love to eat it. I love the Weruva brand and was trying this frick a zee flavor for my KD and diabetic cats. Unfortunately, neither of my cats would eat this and I ended up with a lot of wasted left overs. We will have to stick to the Wx phos focused line! Chewy was great with helping me resolve this issue.
My cat suffered a very debilitating situation in 2022 from gorging on Thanksgiving turkey and crunchy dry foodWhen he came home, he totally rejected all the cat food he used to eat. I went through months of trying new brands and flavors of low carb/grain free...he'd reject them after a can or two. Very expensive situation. Not Weruva...he loves it. This is his absolute favorite, chicken Frick 'a zee!
After looking at available wet foods for my cats, this caught my attention as it actually looked like chicken, with healthy ingredients. My cat who eats wet food (the other doesn't) took to this like a charm. He seems to feel full after he eats and does not ask for more as he does with other foods. The only reason I did not rate this 5 stars is because the cans are difficult to open and require alot of hand strength to pull the tab. For someone like my spouse, who has limited hand strength, opening a can is impossible (i end up using a utensil to pry the top off.)
Our two 1-year-olds have no hesitation about this food. My only mild complaint (which may be a plus to others) is that it sometimes contains long, stringy shreds that can only be broken up so much with a fork. Our boys aren't picky, but they seem to have more trouble eating the longer shreds, so they will skip these until all the smaller bits are gone. Then, at the end, they will make a mess of their dining area as they labor to tear the long shreds apart. More cleaning for mom. But they keep at it, and eventually do eat it all. It's extremely palatable to them and has excellent cost and nutritional value, and I will continue to rotate it through their diet.
I thought I was so lucky to receive these as a freebie with every bag of cat litter I bought. Afterall who doesn't love a freebie.... Well suddenly my cats had mass diarrhoea . Being aging cats I put it down to yet another thing coming with age . Since I only had a few tins and it wasn't their everyday food I didn't connect the dots . Instead I treated the problem . Then they were better and again next delivery of cat litter more tins ... Again I'm cleaning 7 litter trays a day and scrubbing floors . BUT it wasn't until I gave one cat a tin that I worked it out . See this cat is my foster cat a semi feral cat in rehabilitation who is crated on his own . He suddenly too had mass diarrhoea . It was now everything fell into place . He doesn't share anything with other ... MoreI thought I was so lucky to receive these as a freebie with every bag of cat litter I bought. And if you think I'm over reacting try having a 21 year old cat barley making the litter tray not to mention other normally happy healthy Content indoor cats suddenly withdrawn , sad , sluggish , unhappy weight loss and severe bowel movements only giving this one star because it made me
I read labels and im searching for a healthy food for my cats. But in reading the ingredients I see that Potato Starch is the 3rd ingredient and thats not what I want. Its not healthy. The next ingredient is Sunflower oil. I am learning more and more about healthy foods for my cats. So much potato starch is not healthy. The 1st 4 or 5 ingredients should be meat protein. So I will be switching foods. I wish it were easier to find a healthy food.
