Can't believe the positive reviews! Bought this when my normal white granular stuff was o/s, in an attempt to be "green". It clumps as it says it does, but into enormous lumps which have to be chipped from the bottom of the tray. In so doing you disturb the rest, which goes everywhere. It certainly manages to stick to my cats' paws as it was all over the kitchen floor and work surfaces after their first night with it. Stuck it out for another day then when it came to empty the tray there was a layer like concrete on the bottom which was a nightmare to shift. Gave up after one use and reverted, with relief, to my previous stuff. Tried to give my daughter the remains but she refused to have it. Do not buy!

I was send this free of charge by Ocado in exchange for a review. I am very familiar with clumping cat litter and have bought various brands over the years. This is on par with the better ones I have used in the past. It clumps well and does not have an overpowering scent as some do. It is a bit on the expensive side, but guess part of it is as you pay for the brand. Would buy again, but maybe waited till it came on offer, as similar clumping cat litter out there for a better price

Good for poo / no good for pee. It was really difficult removing the thick gloop. The bits the cat walked across the room turned concrete requiring the back of a knife to remove. We stuck (literally) with it for a few days then chucked the whole big bag out. Cat not happy. Daddy not happy.

Switched to this a year ago or so from the clumping clay one which is not so environmental friendly. Also tried the paper one, the corn ones, and walnut, and the crystal ones, none of them are as good as this. It is still bit dusty and bit tracking but compare to the clay one it is much much less dusty, and easy to clean. I'm not so much into flushing cat litter into human toilet, so trying to find one that clump well, less tracking, cover odour and environmentally friendly I have to say this is the winner. Yes it is still dusty and tracking, but I have an enclosed litter box and a litter tracking mat so so far this is the best, it is not as the cheapest but certainly not the most expensive one, the main point is it works for my cats.
Im reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. I probably wouldn't have tried it otherwise because it's a massive bag, but luckily I got this to review and it will now be my regular. It clumps and absorbs odours very well, and because the texture is sandier than other natural litters it's also easier to clean. I deducted one star only because it creates a cloud of dust when pouring it out.
I?m reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. I gave this a good go (three weeks) as it took my clowder some time to get used to this litter. I had other options down, to prevent accidents, and it took them about two weeks to get used to using this new litter. By the end, 80% of the clowder were happy to use it. I like that it's a by product of something else, is natural and biodegradable. I also noticed no nasty odours with this. It clumps well, but even with a good layer in the bottom of the tray, still required some soaking prior to washing, as the litter had adhered to the base of the tray. It feels like a coarse sand beach, which I thought might be kinder to the feet of my cats. It is heavy. It feels like a coarse sand beach, which I thought might be kinder to the feet of my cats. It is heavy. The bag weighs about 10kg, which might be too heavy for some to lift. But it does have the least tracking of the litters I've used and I have a mixture of floor types, including stone and wood. It is more expensive than many other litters, but it does last a long time, which evens out the cost.
I was sent this to review - or rather our cats needed to review it - not us. They just don't like it and neither do their owners. It may be more eco friendly than some other litters (altho the litter I usually buy is a by-product of the wood industry) but it makes such a mess! To begin with it gets everywhere - on the cats paws and between their toes, and therefore all over the floor when they clean their feet. It gets stuck at the bottom of the litter tray in a sticky blob, and is far too heavy for me to pour into the tray to refill it. On top of all that it is a ridiculous price for something so messy. We don't like waste so will be mixing this with with our cats usual wood pulp litter- and have to keep our fingers crossed that they don't mind!
My cat prefers clumping litters with small particles. We were using bentonite clay but its often out of stock. At first, I mistook the sticky clumps for an upset tummy. Once I got used to this I have become a convert and find it very easy to scoop. It is very low odour compared to clay and paper litters. with a natural woody smell ideal for absorbing urine smells. It tracks terribly but the pieces are small enough not to worry my feet. Although I personally prefer the CatMate system with larger pellets that break down and fall into a bottom tray, this litter is the one I use in the main bathroom to prevent her from weeing on the bath mats or in the bedrooms on pieces of clothing left on the floor.
What on earth has happened to the price? Last bought at £22. An increase of nearly £8 now?! I've stuck with this because a lockdown rescue was used to it and we didn't want to upset him with change. Other reviewers are correct, though, prising the hardened wee off the bottom of the tray involves a few hours of soaking. I've tried everything; fabric softener, dish-wash tabs etc. and it's always followed up with 20-30 mins of chipping it away. With a trowel. It's a nightmare. The whole downstairs loo is, also, constantly covered in the finest dust. (Their / our lungs..?) I'm done with this now, especially with this outrageous price-hike. (It's still available at PAHome for £22) but we'll wean him off it as of now. Had enough. 26 years of cat-litter duty and veterinary ... MoreWhat on earth has happened to the price? I bought 40litres of this stuff, still have 20litres left that is going to be for absolute emergencies only! It started off well. Whilst more expensive, it is possible to remove 'used' sections of it, so it can last longer if you are prepared to put some effort in. After a while, however, it started getting all over the house - off the cats paws. It got pretty much everywhere the cat went - floors, his basket, sofas - little tiny bits of wheat. Tiny bits of wheat covered in ... cat waste. A daily vacuum became essential. It covers the smell pretty well, but oh boy, when it comes to cleaning the litter tray if you happen to leave it for over 24 hours - for instance, staying over somewhere for a night - it sticks to the litter tray like glue. You then have to try and scrape it out, a job absolutely suited to outside work and try not to get it everywhere, as it just clings to everything. It is now banished from our house - after 2 months - and alas, the clay based stuff is back. This could have been such a good product if it wasn't so ridiculously fine - the particles are too small. Yes, it is biodegradable, but the choice is up to you - if you are willing to put in a great deal of effort trying to keep this infernal stuff off your floors, furniture etc. - then go for it. You have been warned. The initial satisfaction with the product and the fact that it is more environmentally friendly soon wears off...
