I love this cleansing balm. I’m a Cerave fan in general for basic skincare staples that don’t irritate my skin or make me break out. With acne prone and oily skin, Ive always wanted to be able to be a master of the double cleanse and use cleansing balms, but my skin always rejects them. Then came this one. It removes my eye makeup gently, gets a great first cleanse, and doesn’t strip my skin. I always use this one as a first step at the end of the day if I’ve done mascara or eyeliner and know it will do the trick without hurting my eyes or breaking me out. Some reviews talk about it being so small but you don’t need a lot for a cleanse, so this size is fine for me! Just know it’s not coming in a huge tub!

A Little Goes A Long Way

CeraVe continues to impress. This product is perfect for every day, and a little goes a long way. The size is perfect for travel or any on-the-go scenario. The first benefit of this product is the lack of any harsh smell. What I did notice though is that this product works better to remove liquid makeup than it does to remove foundation or eyeliner. I would then say this would work best in a makeup removal system (not necessarily a one-product routine). When I did attempt to remove my foundation with this product I had to press and rub harder which irritated my sensitive skin. For what this product does though, it does very well. I will continue to use it in the future.

Absolutely amazing product when used correctly

This balm is amazing!! I have wanted to try it for awhile %26 ran out of the one I usually buy. I decided to go ahead %26 give a try. Well I won’t be buying the old stuff anymore.Don’t even consider the bad reviews.. I think a lot of people who left negative reviews do not understand how to use a makeup melt or balm. Yes it’s oily, it’s suppose to be. It is made to be used along with a makeup eraser cloth. After spreading it out, with makeup all over your face, wet the cloth with warm water %26 wipe it all off. That’s it! Leaves no oily residue. I always wash my face with a lighter face wash afterwards but mostly just bcuz it’s my part of my nightly routine. It isn’t necessary. Best balm ever

I am obsessed with this balm the texture and Hydration is unmatched. This balm removes my makeup gently and effectively while leaving my skin hydrated and radiant.This balm is amazing, not only is the texture silky smooth it cleans my face so quickly and gentle. It even gets my waterproof mascara off easily without me losing a bunch of eye lashes. I have always been so bad about washing my face but, now I look forward to it, so I can use this balm. You only need a tiny bit of this balm and you scoop it out, rub it on your face and it will immediately emulsify onto your skin with the heat. Don't Wate Your Money

I wear makeup every day and I always double cleanse to ensure my face is clean. I typically use Burts Bees cleansing oil but I wanted to try this because I use CeraVe products and love them. This is easily a hard pass. The smell is horrible. It doesn't dissolve the makeup like typical oil cleansers do. It just sits on the skin and does not penetrate through the primer and sunscreen I have on my face. You MUST use a cloth or wash rag to properly clean the face whereas with other oil cleansers I can just rinse with water and all the makeup and sunscreen and other mess comes off. It's a great price point. But but isn't for me. I understand it's a balm but it doesn't do enough work to justify my coins.

I trust the CeraVe brand and have used their hydrating cleanser, daily lotion, and cream for years on my sensitive skin so I had high expectations. This is actually probably the worst cleansing balm I've tried and I'm surpsied that CeraVe has even put this on the market. First, I much prefer other balms with little scoops in the packaging to help keep your product clean - this one does not have that. Second, after you scoop this out with your finger (gross) and start rubbing it in your hands, not all of the product melts. I brought this with me on a weekend trip and tried it multiple times and I could not get this balm to work for me. It's sadly awful, and I would highly recommend using any other brand for a cleansing balm because you'll honestly a ton more product for your money and it will actually take your makeup off. Please don't do what I did and waste your money on this product.

To clarify, this review is for the Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm, since this page seems to have some reviews for the eye makeup remover mixed in. I am truly shocked that this products average number of stars is so high. I loatheeeee it. I've tried using less and less every time and I STILL have a thick white film of this stuff on my face every time I use it. I have to be irritating my skin, given how much I need to rub it around, and it still won't "rinse off" like the instructions say. Yeah, it removes my makeup, but at what cost?! It comes off with my cleanser, so I've been powering through and I'll use it until it's gone, but I am so looking forward to that day. Melts the Day Away

CeraVe does it again with its Cleanser Balm. When you wear makeup, it is really important to use a balm that gently takes the day off and leaves your skin feeling clean and reinvigorated. The ceramides in this product allow my skin to breathe and regenerate. I would say that this is far superior to Junoco, the TikTok balm that created so much buzz and led me to buy it on a whim. I am highly impressed by the way it melts the makeup off my face and still allows my skin to not feel stripped of its essence. It is lightweight and really works as a skincare product. I would highly recommend this product and will be using this on a daily basis.

Not for eczema prone skin - I want to love it but can't

I use CeraVe cleanser dry combo skin and it's great and I wanted to love this balm because it's from the same line but I can't. This is my second jar and I've had the same experience both times. I thought maybe the irritation I experienced with the first jar was due to adding in a new product and wanted to give it a fair shot and maybe my skin would settle down. Now on my second jar I see it's the balm that is the issue. Very good for double cleansing

I am into double cleansing now and love cleansing balms. I've tried a few, but this has turned out to be my favorite. I was kind of upset when this arrived in the mail and I saw how small the container is. After using it, it only takes a small amount and this should last for a couple of months. It is good for removing waterproof mascara and as the start to a double cleanse. It's moisturizing even if used alone. A pea sized amount is good for my whole face. I will definitely buy more when I run out and would definitely recommend this.
