Back during my Isotretinoin days this was a life-saver. I'd been doing fine with Laneige Water Bank and the sleeping mask, but it got to the point where my skin just feel constantly tight and dried out, no matter how much of those I used or layered. I picked up Cetaphil for quite a bargain. It seemed like a simple enough basic moisturizer - nothing fancy in there apart from some Avocado oil, Vit B5 and Vit E and a few other additions. My biggest fear was this would somehow break me out. It felt quite rich to me, I can recall the first time I applied it was just a very tiny amount. Over the following days I applied more and more liberally as I began to realize my skin was soaking up the moisture and had no issues with Cetaphil's ingredients or heaviness. I get the hype surrounding this product, it’s advertised like a gentle, everyday affordable face cleanser that’s good for your skin. I bought this to try based on all the positive reviews, as I have sensitive skin and constant hormonal acne breakouts, and had yet to find something that actually works for my skin. So I started using this, nothing else in my routine changed, and suddenly I’m dealing with some of the worst acne I’ve ever had. It was AWFUL. This face cleanser is OK. Its not great, and I wouldn’t buy it, but I might recommend it to someone who just wants a simple face wash to get the job done. I see why its recommended by dermatologists because it works as it’s supposed to but is just not my favorite compared to other products I have used. I have sensitive skin and so I do like that it is fragrance free and hypoallergenic but I have used other face cleansers that work better and actually do something for my skin to the point where I can see positive results. However, this cleanser does feel gentle and is not harsh at all, so if you do have very sensitive skin, this may be a very good face cleanser for you, but even I would consider my skin to be on the more sensitive side and plenty of other products ... MoreThis face cleanser is OK. She said to use my anti aging and heavier moisturizers at night bc that's when your skin replenishes so it will work better then and you'll be getting the best use out of the more expensive moisturizers but that this is a great lightweight daytime moisturizer. And it can be used on face and body. When I use it, it feels nice and refreshing. When I was using my anti aging moisturizer I felt like my face stayed shiny all day, too shiny. People probably thought I have oily skin when in fact I'm more on the dry side. It doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy or oily. It keeps my skin feeling moisturized all day and not dry. I have this brand of face cleanser too which I like. I like the smell of the face cleanser. Reminds me of something from my childhood. The moisturizer doesn't really have a smell to it. I prefer no smell over a smell I don't like or a perfume smell. Plus I don't need extra ingredients added to my moisturizer, that only increases the chance of being allergic to something in it. I love the pump on each of these, makes it super easy. Not struggling to close a lid with moisturizer in my hand. Plus it doesn't get that dried goop at the end of the nozzle each time like some of my eye creams in pumps do.i love this.
