I'm a 41 year old African-American woman who lives in a cold, northern state where the constant indoor heat will suck every bit of moisture out of your skin and hair. Normally the dry, winter weather requires me to use an oil and a lotion in order to get some relief for my dry skin. Not so with this lotion. I used this lotion years and years ago but stopped because I wanted to go a more natural route with my skin care products. The old formula of this had parabens as an ingredient and this new and improved formula does not. Not only that, I notice that the new formula has a thicker consistency that actually eliminates my dry skin. Usually by the time I'm done combing my hair and brushing my teeth the lotion has soaked in enough that I can get dressed. I've been using this lotion for about three weeks now and never before has my skin looked and felt so buttery smooth. You would think I had the skin of a 20 year old. I definitely plan to continue to use this lotion through the winter but will have to look for something lighter in the summer.Oh yeah...the reason why I decided to give this lotion another try after years of not using it. For the past few years at work I keep getting rashes. In trying to figure out what was causing it, I decided to go back to the bare basics in my skin care. When looking up lotion for sensitive skin, this popped up. It was a reasonable price by a well-known brand and it no longer has parabens so I decided to give it a try. My rash is gone. I'm not saying this lotion cured the rash, but the lotion definitely is not irritating my skin. It's working so well I'm afraid to let anything else touch my skin.I use Kirk's Castile fragrance free bar soap to shower with (should cost around $5 for 3 bars) and this lotion afterwards. I use a homemade laundry detergent that consists of 1 Tbsp grated Kirk's castile soap, 1 Tbsp washing soda, and 1 Tbsp baking soda.

I have always had dry skin, especially in the winter I would notice flakiness on my forehead. I tried so many expensive creams and they were all just temporary fixes for about a half hour until my skin became dry again. Over a year ago, I tried this lotion and my skin looks and feels better than it ever has. In the winter, no more flaky skin, it looks hydrated! A little bit of this product goes a long way. Please try this product if you deal with dry skin, this is a life changer.

I boight this moisturizer and after i looked at the ingredients I fell in love. I love the ingredients and how it makes my skin feel afterwards. However, i noticed that it did feel heavy and didnt absorb asquickly as i would have liked it too. When it finally did absorb (after about 20 minuts) it still felt very sticky and uncomfortable. I have some mild sensory issues so i was in aggony with this on my face. Now looking back, I suspect that the reason why it's not working out for me, is because it was not formulated for my skin (I have combo/normal sensitive skin.) I am happy that I at least tried it though. I really think that is a overall very well-rounded product and deserves a shot. If you have dryer skin, go for it!

I've used the regular Cetaphil moisturizer formula for several years, but this new reformulation isn't so great. While I haven't had any breakouts from it, it definitely has a different feel to it. A bit greasy feeling. It leaves more of a surface layer feel whereas the previous formula absorbed and left my skin with a normal texture. My makeup (which is ONLY concealer and pressed powder!!!) has a hard time sticking to my face now. I actually don't mind the moisturizer on its own and my skin has responded well, but since I do prefer to wear makeup it's becoming impractical for me and I think I'll need to try something else. That sucks because everything else I've tried breaks me out! Some reviews have said the reformulated product only now contains certain things, one being avocado oil, but the previous version also had it. But yes, they did both add and subtract various ingredients during this switch.
I have relatively dry skin and have used lotions and moisturizers after showering 🚿 or bathing 🛀 most of my life. Cetaphil was recommended by my PCP about 10 years ago and I agree it is the best moisturizing lotion I have ever used. I probably shouldn’t say this because I am doing this review for Wal-Mart but since I am doing it voluntarily and of my own free will, I have to say it is 10 times better than Equate brand even for twice the price. It simply works much better than most all the other well-known brands on top 🔝 of that! I listened to my doctor, what can I say? Cetaphil also makes a lot of other nice skin care products.
I ran out of my usual Keri lotion and instead of buying a new one I began using this new Cetephil with Avocado oil that was previously bought for me to try. I liked the consistency, oil in it, and my skin didn't feel dry. So to save some money I continued to use and planned to keep using until it ran out. BUT THEN...after a couple months I noticed my old stretch marks from past pregnancy that went flat and faded felt were becoming......textured again and raised on the surface of my skin. Then one morning I woke up and a NEW reddish stretch mark began to form. Then, a crease line appeared right underneath my collar bone. SO I started slathering Jojoba oil (sky organics) on these areas immediately and my skin started going back to normal and red marks disappeared ... MoreI ran out of my usual Keri lotion and instead of buying a new one I began using this new Cetephil with Avocado oil that was previously bought for me to try. SO I started slathering Jojoba oil (sky organics) on these areas immediately and my skin started going back to normal and red marks disappeared quickly. After that! I bought a new bottle of Keri lotion ASAP it's the best moisturizer ever, never had a new stretch mark since using Keri and skin glows. If it's not broke don't try to fix it by experimenting with something new! Based on my results from this new Cetephil/Avocado oil lotion I believe this does NOT moisturize nor penetrate the skin like I thought it was. I'm 37 years old. So I do NOT need new stretch marks at this age at all! No one at any age who consistently mositurize should get stretch marks due to a product not doing it's job :-(. Sorry I betrayed Keri, will never do that again!
I have used this on my face twice a day for years . i have acne prone skin and this is the only moisturizer that my skin could tolerate. It took me a really long time to find the skincare routine that worked. i stayed hopeful that my skin would behave with this new formula and tried to stick with it . My skin has been breaking out with horrible cystic acne and nothing in my routine has changed other than this formula. . So disappointed and frustrated that i'll have to go through the process of finding a new product. I would buy again if they brought back their old formula but looks like this will be the last purchase.
This has been my daytime moisturizer for years. When I noticed they started distributing it with a “new and improved” formula I got very scared, because my skin is incredibly picky and does not react well to change. But i tried it anyway because like I said I’ve been using it daily for years. Long story short the new formula does not agree with my skin. It feels much heavier than the previous formula and leaves my skin feeling tight and uncomfortable. I believe it’s from the newly added niacinamide in the ingredient list. There are obviously some other tweaks that have been made as well to make the texture feel different. So basically I am kind of panicking because I don’t know what I’m going to use now. Not happy at all. Thanks cetaphil for ruining a once great ... MoreThis has been my daytime moisturizer for years. Giving it 5 stars as an EYE CREAM. As a moisturizer for my combo skin I'd say 3 stars maybe. It's affordable, the ingredients are great but as a facial moisturizer it's too much and makes me look greasy and slick. BUT......as an eye cream this is the best. A little goes a long way and hydrates my dry eyes. It's unseated and very thin in consistency, almost watery. The small bottle lasts me forever. I highly recommend this for your eyes.
I have pros and cons to this lotion. I have VERY sensitive skin and I suffer from eczema flair-ups. This lotion is great for my sensitive skin and does not make me itch or bother my eczema at all. However, it claims to be for dry to normal skin. I would say this is better for super dry skin. It is more like a cream than a lotion, and it feels very heavy on my skin. It actually makes me hot and sweaty when I have it on, almost like my skin can't breathe. And I constantly feel sticky in my creases, like in the folds of my elbows, behind my knees, and under my butt cheeks. I think I'll like this better in the winter, but not right now in the summer. I need a lightweight lotion. It is GREAT for sensitive skin though!
