It was a little lighter than I thought it would be I expected a heavier base as I wanted it for soups, jams and other preserves. It was very good value but I failed to read the description thoroughly and I take responsibility for that. However I have used it to make Apricot jam and it was a success as I made a point of watching it more carefully to prevent burnt jam. One of the best things about shopping with Peters is they are so exact with product descriptions, excellent.

only use it for stock, the thin base is designed for the water to roll around, not dry or stew at the bottom which is a thin base. the enamel scouting was thin enough to wear off wi th one use. it is a fine thin shape, which can dent easily and makes the
