I wear womens size 8.5 and the big kids size 6 fit fine. I broke them in on a five mile hiking trail on snow with Ininji five toe socks and yaktrax over the shoes. I was prepared for sore feet or blisters, but I had neither. I thought they were very comfortable. There weren’t any internal seams poking at my feet.

This is a great shoe, but not without a big price. My grandson loves them and if I couldn’t get free shipping from a code I would have had to leave these.

But, when I ordered for my 4 year old grandson, based on the size chart, they were not wide enough. I returned the size 10 and ordered a size 11 based on the recommendation of the customer service rep. Now I need to return those. I'm still going to order the shoes from Keen, but, I had my daughter pick them out.

My son loves these! He hasn’t complained about anything bothering him. He’s extremely picky and OCD about some things so he would let me know if it wasn’t comfortable. They are good and stable and he loves to run in them too. Recommend for sure!
My son, typical of little boys, didn't know how to tell me why his feet were hurting him. There was definitely enough length, but when we compared them to his Oakridge (which don't seem to be around anymore) they are waaaaay more narrow. Beware. Unfortunately, we have already been on several grumpy hikes, and time has passed so we haven't tried to return. Construction seems good. It would be nice to have width a consideration when it comes to kids shoes too. If my son is anything like me.. he will need clown size width.
This is the second pair we've bought for our 5 year old. They hold up even with his active kid energy, they look great, and he doesn't complain about them feeling weird or hurting when they are brand new. I'm sure our next pair will be Keen Targhee when he grows out of this current pair.
Buying shoes for a young child at the usual stores is frustrating. The build quality is generally poor (because you have to buy new shoes in 6 months anyway...why bother) and they aren't good value for the money. We bought these because they have lots of good features...water proof, quality materials, solidly attached velcro strap that all contribute to a longer life. My daughter was just past size 12, so we bought size 13 and expect to get a good life through the summer and fall with them. They're holding up well so far. Great product.
We took our daughter on a hike in these shoes on a trail crossing some streams and climbing over rocky inclines. Being a kid she put her feet right in the stream. We were considered her feet would be wet, but they stayed bone dry. She also climbed all over rocks, and I could tell she had good traction, and didn’t slip. No complaints about discomfort, either. It has only been one hike so far, but so I ram very happy with them.
Two of my children have had these shoes. They find them very comfy and great for hiking and daily use but they wear out much faster than I would expect. Will be searching for a new option when we replace them.
Got this for my 3yr old hiker for our summer long RV trip to various National Parks. Made sure to leave a little room to grow into and definitely paid off. Easy enough to slide into for my kid and Velcro straps were convenient. Fairly water proof for treks through light snow and rain. My little one was able to rock climb and hike in these no problem, and without the need for hiking socks. Would recommend.
