Christian Dior J'Adore Eau De Parfum - 100ml

TLDR; This perfume has a highly concentrated floral scent that is ~quite~ long lasting. I rated it a 4/5 because it smells, but it's not a daily perfume staple for the average consumer due to the price point (but let’s be honest, Dior as a brand isn't necessarily known for being “budget friendly”). The J'adore EDP is a beautiful floral scent that packs a punch and lasts a long time. It's quite strong at the beginning (can easily become overpowering so a little goes a longgg way, which is a good thing for a perfume at their price point). It settles nicely into the skin as you wear it throughout the day and lingered into the next morning on my wrist area which speaks to the concentrated nature of this perfume (quite impressive honestly). It settles nicely into the skin as you wear it throughout the day and lingered into the next morning on my wrist area which speaks to the concentrated nature of this perfume (quite impressive honestly). I wish I had more to report, but this was a first impression to be completely transparent because I only received a tiny sample in a large box so I'm not sure if I can completely speak to more than that just yet! (since it's a sample that only allows for a few wears). Overall, if you have the disposable income and enjoy a mature, classic floral scent then this is perfume is whispering your name.

Finely crafted down to the last detail, like a custom-made flower."—François Demachy, Dior I love reading people's variations on the scent, but to me, J'Adore smells like shampoo. Not clean in the way it's used to describe scents, but actual CLEAN like after a fresh bath. It's classic, clean, floral but not dainty, very womanly. Dior chose a great actress to be the face of this perfume (Charlize Theron) - she embodies what this scent evokes: confident, sensual, put-together.

I really love J'adore! It's very soft and feminine yet rich and mature. It's very long lasting and although I love to reapply my fragrances, this one lasts me a good 6 hours. The opening of J'adore gives me a burst of pear, melon, bergamot and mandarin orange. It's definitely a beautiful mix of the fruits and soon after you start to smell its middle notes of all the florals. However, Jasmine is the one note standing out to me the most. As it dries down, I start to smell the musk and vanilla which have become my favourite bottom notes in all fragrances. The bottle of the fragrance is also stunning. It's designed to be shaped like Greek amphora which I find incredibly special and unique. Dior J’adore Edp is a classic fragrance staple I have loved for decades! This specific version of Dior J’Adore is the eau de parfum version of the well-loved fragrance (which is stronger than the eau de toilette version). The scent of this perfume is flowery but not overwhelmingly so. I was worried about this perfume smelling “too old” for me but it wasn’t! It smells youthful and girly yet sophisticated. My true self is the fragrance of a mature woman. Joy is the fragrance of comfort and happiness! The goddess of Muse is Jennifer Lawrence. I think the design of this bottle is clean and not high-profile, just like its fragrance. It’s perfect to take 🐶 for hiking on weekends and apply it!

Keep in mind this is the first time I saw great bottle design and just high end perfumes in general especially since I had just started working and earning my own money. The attention to detail is great and it actually does feel different and delicate without being actually delicate (if that makes sense). As for the fragrance, it smells a lot like Jasmine flower. We have smelled a lot of essence oils of Jasmine which definitely lasts longer and is stronger in smell. But this perfume is definitely nice smelling as long as you spray a decent amount. Compared to most men EDP, this one is very light and doesn’t last as long. That’s the only gripe I have with this. We own more EDP which are stronger and last longer

This review is not against the original, authentic J'adore Eau De Parfum. That fragrance is amazing and my favorite. I have worn it on and off for at least 15-20 years. I normally buy it from my favorite department store, but my husband and I were in Ulta shopping for something else. We were on our 25th anniversary get away in Florence, South Carolina. He saw the J'adore and told me to get the largest bottle, because he knows it is my favorite fragrance to wear. It has been a couple of years since I have worn this particular frageance, so I was super excited to get back to our hotel so I could open the box and wear some. I knew something was off just looking at the bottle straight from the box. The liquid was a pale pink in color. I decided to keep that bottle and make the exchange when we got back to our hometown in Greenville, South Carolina. Maybe the store in Florence just received a bad shipment. Before I exchanged that bottle in Greenville, I stopped by the department store where I normally buy J'adore, to compare the bottle I had. My suspicions were further confirmed. The bottle from Ulta did not match the bottle from the department store. After that, I went to the Ulta in Greenville. The associate was very professional and helpful. She was also in agreement with me, after comparing the bottle I had with the tester bottle on her shelf, that the bottle of J'adore I had purchased in Florence was not authentic. She gladly allowed me to exchage the bottle I had for a bottle from her store. After the transaction, I asked if I could open the box from the Greenville store just to be sure. She allowed me to do so. To our surprise, it was the exact same as the bottle I purchased in Florence. I received a refund. I have been an Ulta customer for a long time. I now worry that other products on their shelf are not authentic. I would consider continuing to be their customer of all products, if they could provide me with an authentic bottle of this fragrance.

For anyone unfamiliar with J'adore, it is a very heady white floral fragrance, but still sparkly in its essence. Think: a group of freshly showered young women drinking Bellinis surrounded by a lush garden of fragrant flowers. They are sitting next to an opulent magnolia tree, having a fruit tray with beautifully ripened melon, sugary sliced pears, juicy sectioned oranges, and deeply purple blackberries.
