This is my second Chuckit glow ball. I use it inside as a playball or outside with the thrower. It is easy to find if my dog loses it in the cellar by turning out the lights. It is not as durable as the other Chuckit balls, so a hard chewer can destroy it over time if you let him grind on it for a long time. It is softer so you can use it inside without ruining anything.

This ball is fantastic for dark mornings. The 3" ball fits in the mega chuckit. I put the ball in my lampshade next to the bulb for 5 minutes before going out and the glow lasted for about 45 minutes to be seen across the field. I could still find it after an hour if I walked around looking for it (my dog only left it when the glow when dimmer, typical). The 2 holes in it also made a whirring noise when thrown so very handy to help my dog follow the direction. I would recommend to anyone. Everyone on the park has asked where I got it from. Brilliant.

I walk around a park that is huge it takes a full hour (fast pace walking) and the ball glowed enough for the girls and I to see it through the whole hour. Also when you throw it,it makes a wind sound because it has a hole the whole way through the middle of it. I didn't want one with batteries as the girls chew the balls when they fetch. No more losing balls at night. When I get back home I just pop the ball back onto the window sill so allow the light to get to it. Brilliant ball! Also the ball doesn't become soaking from the wet grass,which is another bonus. If your looking for a glowing ball buy these. Peace of mind ... MoreThis is a great ball. Pros:+ Easier to find in the grass at nightCons:- Smooth surface makes it extra slippery. This ball pops out of my dog's mouth more than any other.- Glow is dim unless just charged under light- Dog does not care about glow. I think that was for me :)Conclusion:Not a big difference, but I'd pick a different ball for the fetch crazy. Those dogs don't need the glow to find their ball. However, I might recommend this for the casual fetch dog who makes the owner do the fetching.
OK. Well, it does what it says on the box. It glows in the dark. I tried it out in my bedroom where I have blackout blinds. A couple of minutes with the ball "charging" outside in the sunshine and then into the dark room. It was brilliant. It lit up like a lighthouse. BUT, I don't walk in total darkness and when I took it on our walk (early evening) it was just like any other ball. I gave it 4 stars as it's a great, tough ball. Whistles when you throw it and if you lose it AND it's pitch black you will have no trouble finding it. My dog loved it.

This is the most expensive dog ball I have ever seen or purchased , it is quite good, but not as heavy as the standard orange and blue Chuckit ball and not as heavy and not as good in the water (more difficult to see). I am very happy with the purchase , I will be keeping a close eye on it because it wasn't cheap and I would not want to have to pay for a replacement , it is a one off purchase for me , an extra because I spoil my dog and I genuinely enjoy seeing him chasing after this futuristic glowing ball of bounce, its great, go get one! Tip: Get size Large for any dog which is larger than a small Labrador.
Coming back to buy another because it was stolen by another dog who loved it so much!This ball is incredibly bright when its starts to glow. I was shocked how little light it needed to "charge" and how much it lit up, even in the day light. It also gets a lot of air when using the chuckit stick. Also good to stick treats and peanut butter inside.This ball has also been practically indestructible for my dog who is a heavy chewer.

We use the balls on a stretch of grass that's not completely dark at night but even with only a few minutes of charging under a lamp, the balls give off a good enough glow that they're easy to spot, which is great as my girl only has one eye and it can be tricky for her to see in low light. They seem to work best in the dark but are white enough to see in the light too. I was also pleased that the hole through the ball makes a slight sound when flung giving her the added bonus of an audible clue when we're playing. These really are a great buy. As long as you're looking for a ball that is easier to see in the dark and not something that shines like a torch, you won't be disappointed. I wish I'd bought these years ago. I would have saved myself a fortune! The only problem you might have is getting stopped every five minutes by desperate dogwalkers wanting to know where you got them!

Here’s the scoop: The material is strong, unlike other balls, this has held up for, well so far 2 months – a lot longer than other balls. She loves to chew on it all the time. It really glows bright. We have a launcher not ‘Chuck it’ brand, but works just as well. So far the ‘Chuck it’ balls work the best with the launcher, the others we’ve tried don’t stay in the launcher that well. Here’s the only down side…it is really really bouncy. So far those who have a limited space will have to be careful not to loose it. We have approximately 25 yards of fenced in area for her to run.
