I had the original or regular version of this, but Falric (at nine months old) seemed like he could almost choke on the medium-sized Chuckit! balls. I decided to size up to the large, (the XL seemed like it might be too large) and they're perfect for him. He's a 90 pound GSD and LOVES to play fetch.I also strongly recommend the tough rubber balls rather than the tennis ball type. Just fetching them he destroys the regular tennis balls in one outing. The tough ones have held up well, though the one with the squeaker stopped squeaking the first time out.

After I broke my other chuck it I bought the 26m. I failed to realize this thing is like 7 feet long. We normally sit on the porch and smoke outside and toss the ball the my 2 German shepherds. They love to irritate the crap out of you until you throw it. Well as I said it was much longer than I thought. So now my days on sitting on the porch consist of my dodging the stick while my wife tosses the ball. She only manages to throw the ball after knocking everything over in the path of her swing (narrowly missing my face and the porch ceiling) again I realize the 26m was my fault, but at the same time why would they sell a 7 foot long piece of plastic cheaper than the shorter one. It's like that. When I whip this excalibur around to throw the ball, the whirl wind that follows knocks down the children and trees as well as anything in its wind blast pattern. After releasing, My dogs tear ass and run after the fuzzy ball. I usually dont see them for days afterward, but after when they do come back I usually have to remove the newly printed dogs tags that say "pedro" and "anabella", which were placed there at some point during their journey to the edge of the earth in search for the holy chuckit ball. All and all it's quite impressive, but however this was a bit to large for what I needed.

I have been buying Chuck It products for years. Multiple launchers in various sizes, the flying Squirrel, the volleyball sized ball with notches. The products have lasted forever. My medium size launcher finally was done after many years of play. I bought a replacement at a Pet Store and it cracked and slowly the crack spread to where you couldnt use it.I bought another one on Chewy.com about a month ago. I went to use it this morning. The ball was stuck in the launcher, so it flew from my hand and hit the driveway. I realize this isnt supposed to happen, but I never expected this PLASTIC toy to basically shear and break in a fairly thick part of the shaft. I really think that the material is not the same and not nearly as durable as it used to be.Tough cause ... MoreI have been buying Chuck It products for years. The chuck l-it ball that came with this product is a waste of money. I threw the ball twice. On the second retrieve of the throw my dog drop a broken ball at my feet. I have a 70lb 19 month old Lab. She is definitely hard on toys - ergo I buy Chuck-it and black Kong. But this ball was a joke. Two throws and she bit the ball in half and we had to walk back to the car and get a rubber Chuck-it ball. The ball that comes with this set is similar to the tennis ball. I do not recommend this set for large dogs.
I waited a while to write this review so I could really test it all out. My pit bull, Bud, loves to play Frisbee but I haven't found one yet he won't utterly destroy in a couple of hours. He likes fetching balls almost as well and they are cheaper to purchase - A LOT CHEAPER - so balls are the usual fetch toy around here. He slobbers like crazy too, so this launcher is a great tool to have, (another pro over frisbees as launchers are not an option with those). He is also very hard on all of his toys. Most things last only a session or two and then have to be tossed, that is if you can find the remains. I can easily lob a ball with the launcher twice as far as my arm alone would allow. Most things last only a session or two and then have to be tossed, that is if you can find the remains. I can easily lob a ball with the launcher twice as far as my arm alone would allow. However, the fuzzy balls that came with it really soaked up slobber and made for some pretty gross play-time. Fortunately the balls didn't last but a couple of days anyway before he completely destroyed them. This prompted me to seek out a better ball that wouldn't get so nasty and hopefully might even last longer. The answer was the medium-sized solid rubber balls by Chuckit!. These work great in the launcher, don't soak up any slobber at all, and have proven to be much more durable. I bought two balls and he has been using the first one for over a week now with no end in sight. All this might not be a problem for many pooches, but rest assured if you do have a slobbering wonder dog like Bud, the answer is this launcher and the solid rubber Chuckit! balls. If this kit came with the solid rubber ball I would give it a perfect score.
I need to give this two reviews, really, for two different dogs.Benny: australian shepherd/rottweiler mix. 4 years old when i adopted him. RIDICULOUS amounts of energy and play drive.Chuck-its were my saving grace when I had him, let me tell you that I am NOT exaggerating when I say that the only way I was able to keep him content all day was to walk nearly an hour to the nearest big park, stand on top of a hill and throw his toy down the hill for nearly an hour, and then walk all the way back. Almost 3 hours of exercise EVERY SINGLE DAY.The only other toy that compared with this one at all was his lure pole, but he managed to break that constantly so this one was the only one that worked AND lasted.Zero: labrador/rottweiler mix. 1y4m when I adopted him. ... MoreI need to give this two reviews, really, for two different dogs.Benny: australian shepherd/rottweiler mix. 4 years old when i adopted him. Listed as medium to low energy by the shelter. He only just recently got his first chuckit (this specific listing) and he LOVES it. It takes maybe 15 minutes to wear him out with it (on flat ground) but it's the only toy that really allows him to sprint instead of just kind of bouncing around. It's not the best toy for him since he needs more mental stimulation than physical, but it's still an excellent addition to his collection. I may start using this before events where I'll need him to be calm and tuckered out, such as routine vet visits or going to the groomer. It does throw the ball FAR though, so this is not an at home toy unless you have a HUGE yard. I also highly recommend getting brightly colored balls that will stand out against the grass, as your dog is likely to lose sight of the ball sometimes and they need to be able to find it again (unless you want to walk out to show them where it is)Last big point is that you don't have to touch the ball! It's very easy to pick up a ball with this without even bending over much, even balls that have been broken some.
The ball is a perfect size for a toy breed. It's also nice that it's rubber ... bounces well and durable. The stick handle is small and doesn't fit my hand well, the worse part is the stick is too short. It's impossible to get a good long throw with such a little stick! It would be perfect if all the sticks were the bigger size. They should just make the ball cup smaller for using small balls. I live on over an acre, my pup is young and really loves to run all out after her ball. This littler stick is very
My dogs love this. They both get so excited the second I take out the Chuck it stick. They could chase balls all day. And it definitely saves my arm and shoulder. You can really whip these balls far and give your dog some great exercise. The glow in the dark ball is my younger pups favorite, he doesn't even want to put it down after playtime.
Love this. Wish I had found it sooner. The tennis like ball that came with doesn’t bounce as much as the rubber ones I purchased separately but works well with the launcher. If you have a dog that loves to play fetch you need this item. Just don’t let your 13 year old grandson launch the ball because he sent it into the next county. Just kidding. But it did go really really far. Patches lost track of the ball
This 18-m Chuck-It is terrible. Very, very, very bad. To the point where I wonder if the manufacturers ever tested it in the first place. The Chuck-It flings the ball spawn on the ground about two metres in front of the thrower. You have an amazing arm if you can make the ball go 18 feet, much less 18 metres.I do not recommend buying. I wish I could give zero stars. Will be taking mine back for a refund.
