On the Dry side and needed more fruit and spice! These buns I found to be quite dry and unappetizing, They were lacking in fruit and taste and I was not at all impressed!I used to love the mocha hot cross buns at Woolworths-(Please bring them back!) and was looking forward to trying these, but even toasting them didn't improve these buns and I ended up binning them after only trying a mouthful each way! Usually I have found Woolworths bakery products to be of a much higher standard than these, so guess I ended up with a bad batch, but if this happens their quality control should prevent them being put out for sale! its a no from me!Ty for the opportunity to try but I will either go to Coles whose buns are much softer and moister with more spice and fruit or stick to ... Fruit Buns. Could smell the sweet aroma on opening the packet. These buns were lovely and fresh, soft with a hint of spice. Happy to see a decent amount of fruit. Heated in the microwave and served with butter made a sweet morning tea. I think these would make a great bread and butter pudding for those cold winter nights. Although there is a lot of spices on the ingredient list, the buns were very light on spicy flavour. They are easy to find in the bakery section but found that stores didn't bake these every day so check with staff when they are baking these sweet buns. Good to see the bags are starting to stamp a recycle label I would be happy to buy these again.

Pretty good. With the omission of the “cross”, these fruited buns are able to be sold all year round. These buns were tricky to find in numerous Woolworths stores that I visited. On my 4th or 5th attempt I managed to track them down. I think you had to time it just right, not too early in the day when they haven’t been baked yet. Not too late in the day that they have been all sold. Found these fruited buns most delicious when warmed up briefly in the microwave and then cut in half and spread with butter. Extremely moreish. Doughy and filling but I did gobble them up quickly while still warm. The packaging is basic with the usual bakery brown labelling and clear bag allowing you to see the buns inside so no complaints there. Made with at least 70% Australian ... MorePretty good. Nice Buns! My first thought when I picked these up at the shop was that they are a good size and seemed quite soft. When I got home I separated them and then froze them as I knew I wouldn't use them straight away. They froze well and thawed well. I got one out for my breakfast the other day, sliced it and toasted it. It toasted well yet stayed soft inside. They flavour was alright but there just wasn't enough fruit in them. They are light and fluffy and taste good with lashings of butter on them (whether hot or cold) but I think (just a personal opinion) they need a bit more spice, fruit and flavour. A nice alternative to toast but not something I would buy regularly and I do much prefer the flavour and texture of hot cross buns to these lighter fruit buns.
Full of fruit & perfect size for the toaster. Easy to find in store & good price point. Fitted nicely into the toaster, cooked up a treat. Full of fruit, fresh & tasty. I did not know that Woolworths sold Traditional Fruited buns at this time of year as I have not seen them before. The Woolworths fruited buns had a nice glaze on the top & I could taste the spices. I added a thick layer of butter on top and it tasted delicious Made in Australia from at least 70 % Australian ingredients ✅Fresh fruity buns ✅Toasted good in the toaster ✅The bun itself had a nice texture ✅Good price for 6 buns $4 Cha Ching I like it Spice you could definitely taste ✅ The spice is right Thank you @Bunchteam for my sample
Yummy! I was excited to receive this product as I absolutely love fruit loaf, and that is what I had pictured in my head but in a bun! These were on the shelf $3. 00 a pack of 6, and they were nice and warm as they were freshly baked! I took these out of the pack and this is were it has lost two stars ⭐️ For me, first they are a little over cooked too my liking, and secondly there is way to much glaze on them and they are extremely over sticky. So both myself and Stick were eager to try these buns! I tried it first plain and it was just like fruit loaf, not sweet a taste which I really liked. Then I added some butter, Sticky was getting really impatient and couldn't wait?Overall we really enjoyed these buns, apart from too much glaze and slightly over done. As you ... MoreYummy! As you can see Sticky really is enjoying this and still while I am doing this review! Thiis was baked in store at 7. 36am on the 14/07/2022 and is BB on the 17/07/2022! I have put the rest in the freezer, as it does not mention anything about not freezing. This is made up of at least 70 % of Australian ingredients. There is no mention on packaging so I would assume that you either return it to the store or just bin it. There is 2. 9 gm of fat per bun. Carbs 38. 1gmSodium 145mg now that is a fair bit for one bun?As far as these buns go would I buy them again, if they were lighter then yes especially if I had visitors. Thank you Bunch for giving me this wonderful opportunity to try this sample. Thank you to all my fellow Bunchee's for taking a look at my review! Please remember that this is just my opinion and I hope that you have a wonderful day.
Bunny. So now we are eating hot cross buns all year round??? Looks that way. So, I am not a fan of the traditional hot cross buns but I was intrigued to give these a go. Opening the pack, you get that unmistakable smell of a hot cross bun, without the cross on top. These buns didn't look like they had too many fruit pieces so I was happy to see that. I cut the bun in half and into the fridge for the butter and jam to put on top. Once prepared, it was time to taste and the first bite was pretty good. A few more bites and the minimal fruit was confirmed which I definitely liked. Anyone looking for that traditional hot cross bun full of fruit may be a little disappointed but the taste is still lovely and fresh. I have now finished the pack, a few fresh a few toasted ... I have now finished the pack, a few fresh a few toasted with a number of toppings, jam, honey, golden syrup and most with a cup of tea. When I get that craving for a hot cross bun, I will put this on my list. Great price and great taste, what more could you ask for.
Overdone buns! This was the only pack left on the shelf and after I asked the bakery staff I was told that had only made two packs or one dozen buns that day. It was getting bit close to my sample expiry date so I picked them up as I had been looking for a while. They were very well cooked with quite dark tops and bases and felt very heavy for buns. I cut one open and there was a subtle cinnamon aroma and there was good amount of fruit. I tasted a small fresh portion with butter. I didn't enjoy that piece at all. It was dry, heavy and dense. I chose to toast the rest of the bun as it didn't feel all that fresh. It toasted well and was good with lots of butter. I think it has potential to be a better product so maybe it comes down to quality control in individual ... MoreOverdone buns! General:- Good price for a filling treat- Nice to see most of the ingredients are fairly locally sourced. - Clear bag allowed me to see the product easily prior to purchase- The ingredient list is VERY similar to Woolworths Hot Cross Buns. Obviously there is no white cross decoration, but the rest is very much the same. So if you miss your Good Friday treat, grab a bag of these- The buns were fresh, soft and tasty. - I chose to lightly toast mine but they could easily just be eaten as is. - For many years I have been mildy annoyed at supermarkets selling Hot Cross Buns way before Good Friday. I have repeatedly said to friends, that all they need to do is leave the cross off and call them fruit buns if they want to sell them 'outside of Easter'. Well.... here they are! Overall: - I enjoyed these very much. Not something I could eat often or a lot of, because the preservative and sulphite content makes me prone to headaches. Would definitely buy again for an occasional treat though.
Anytime Fruit Buns. Buns located on the bottom shelf well hidden with only a very few packets. $4. 00 not on special often $3. 00 for 6I like the amount of fruit and spice as I am not keen on the spice in Hot cross buns. Suggestions have been they are the same as HCB, I tend to disagree. These buns are not as soft and light as HCB, in fact the texture is quite dense. They are quite large and one is too much for us so we went halves, tried them with butter and fruit spread, toasted with honey and then fresh cream whipped and jam. Not too sweet makes them ideal to play around with differnt toppings. Will make a fruit bun cooked custard just like bread and butter with those left over. I can recommend as a buy!
