Authentic

This is a delicious passata with a very authentic, Italian taste. It has a thick, substantial texture, and is full of flavour. Perfect for various sauces and also as a pizza topping. This will be a staple in my food cupboard.

Good quality passata

I was sent a bottle of this Cirio passata by Ocado to review, at no cost. I've purchased other Cirio tomato products in the past, so the brand wasn't new to me. However I did enjoy trying this passata which has been left a bit chunkier than most other types - which I like as sometimes I find myself wishing passata was indeed more 'rustic.' I would definitely purchase again - it's rich and thick and a great ingredient for lots of my vegetarian dishes.

Much Better

I always use passata when making homemade pizzas and sauces so thought I would give this one a try instead of the usual one that I purchase. Although a little bit more expensive, the tomato taste is more rich and enjoyable so I feel that the extra cost is justified and well worth paying that little bit extra for.

Rich and smooth

I use a lot of passata in pasta dishes, curries and stews and this Cirio one is definitely the best. It has a rich, deep flavour and you can really tell a difference in the finished dish when I’ve used it as oppose to a cheaper brand. I will definitely be buying this again.

Ridiculous price increase

Doubled in price. That is not inflation, its greediness. I will vote with my purse and buy another brand until manufacturers and retailers stop these over inflated price increases.

Simply delicious.

Add to chunky Med veg and oven bake for a simple yet delicious side or main dish. Simply tomatoes, no salt or additives. I loved the rustic consistency and the quality of the product shone through in the flavours.

Smooth, tomato\-ey, rich.

I?m reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado and already buy this passata so was pleased to receive to review. Super in any tomato based Italian dish, including pizza base with some garlic and oregano. Also great in Indian curries for a smooth, thick base to add all that spicy flavour. Huge jar goes so far and well worth the money. Excellent, would highly recommend.

The best passata

I have tried many types of passata and this is my absolute favourite, it makes a really good sauce with great texture. Unfortunately they put the price right up so I cant get it as much as I would like.

Thick and flavoursome

This is chunky, thick and flavoursome, perfect as a base for a pasta sauce for bolognese, lasagna or cannelloni. I used it in a bean and vegetable stew which worked really well. Love that’s it’s not overly smooth and has retained some tomatoey chunks.
