I bought this thinking it would be easy, however it's a little more complicated to use that I thought. The instructions are easy enough so it's fairly straight forward but there are one or two niggly bits.1. the cord is not very long so you need to very close to a socket in order to use it, then you need to find where you're going to hang the clothes (near the socket)2. once the water goes are a couple of uses, you then have to let it cool down before using again3. you can't have your fingers near to the garment when using, therefore I need to buy some tongs of some sort to avoid burning hands4. it's heavier than I anticipated - was going to take it on holiday, but now not sure.

Better than I thought it would be

Love a garment steamer for many reasons. Was going to Bali to a remote retreat with no iron so bought this. It was a casual lace but meals were communal and I wanted to be casual not look like an unmade bed. It’s a great garment steamer. The steam is strong. It would be as good as my full size one except the steam area is obviously a lot smaller for travel so takes a bit longer to steam a garment. It folds up to fit in a smaller space. It’s not super light so if you are watching your baggage weight it will add a kilo or so. But worth it for wrinkle free travel!

Better than expected!

I have never used one of these before and need one for a glam evening dress which I have to pack before going to Lisbon for a party. There was no spluttering from the steamer and it was really straight forward and quite quick when removing all the creases - with my dress on a hanger. I would recommend pressing the steam button and then give a 0.5 second before holding the steamer close to the fabric. The reason for this being that if you press the button when up when right up against the fabric there is understandably a small amount of condensed steam that leaves a very slight dampness (but that is to be expected). I practiced on a different shirt before steaming my dress. Very impressed.

Compatible and with powerful features

The handheld steamer is well made, comfortable, light to use, and heats up quickly. The steam output for such a small and handy steamer is astonishingly powerful. There is nothing that this steamer would not iron. So far, I've ironed clothes (shirts, sweatshirts) and curtains. I was amazed at how well the steamer handled the hanging curtains – it removed all wrinkles. The steamer uses steam, so you don't have to worry about burning the fabric, which could happen with the wrong iron temperature. In addition, e.g. blouses or dresses with frills can be ironed faster and less strenuous.A storage pouch is included. I recommend this product.

Great gadget, no more ironing for me!

I've really enjoyed using this handy portable clothes steamer. It gets up to temperature even faster than the instructions suggested 20 minutes & it's pretty light so not tough on my joints even when the water tank is totally full. I've not taken it on any travels so far but the travel bag is a nice touch, meaning I can put everything away tidily in one place with no risk of anything getting lost; the folding handle makes it a more convenient shape to slide into a bag & makes the whole bag compact enough that I'd definitely pop it in my suitcase next time I'm heading away with anything that creases. Using the steamer is really simple, far easier than actually ironing, especially since with more stubborn creases you can simply run the end of the steamer along the garment without damaging it - something the instructions said was possible but I was concerned about until I tried it - I needn't have worried, no damage & wrinkles gone in no time even on stubborn fabrics! I found that the water went down more on some items than others so there's probably no point in trying to guess how many items of clothing you can steam per tank, but I gathered a few dozen particularly wrinkly things together for the purpose of testing out the steamer & used less than 2 tanks. As a portable device it definitely gets a lot done quickly & easily.I certainly plan to use this instead of my heavy awkward old iron wherever possible!

Ideal for travel & quick on the go crease removal!

I am very impressed with this handheld steamer! I was lucky enough to be sent this for free to test and review, and I always give my true, honest opinions in these cases. This was so easy and quick to set up and use, we are talking a couple of minutes from the moment of unboxing! It was very effective at removing creases in not only my clothes, but on my curtains & bedding too. It comes with a handy travel pouch and folds up so it is a fab tool to take away on holidays/trips in your luggage.I've tried it on several materials, some of which were quite delicate and I had no problems at all. I am someone who likes to iron out creases on clothes as and when I need them as they only get creased again when going into the wardrobe. This is absolutely ideal for that! No waiting around for it to heat up properly or setting up the ironing board, just plug in and go within 30secs, it really couldn't be easier! Great for just refreshing clothes too, and steaming is a great way of getting rid of bacteria! Use it on your mattresses!

Makes my life much easier!

I was really impressed with my Philips Series 3000 Garment Steamer (STH3000/26). On first impression I was impressed at the slick and compact design of the product, as well as its lovely colour. When I read the handbook I realised it also killed 99.9% of bacteria which is such a positive especially in the world we live in today. I first tried it out on a couple of maxi dresses I had had in my ironing pile for far too long - initially I thought it was taking a long time so went back to my manual where the instructions were clear and easy to understand and I then started to use the steamer with more ease. The real test was when I went on holiday for 5 days - I decided to pack some nice dresses and blouses, and my partner brought his shirts for the evenings and I ... MoreI was really impressed with my Philips Series 3000 Garment Steamer (STH3000/26). The real test was when I went on holiday for 5 days - I decided to pack some nice dresses and blouses, and my partner brought his shirts for the evenings and I wanted to see how the steamer would do with our clothes that were creased from being packed a week in advance. Well, I was so impressed! I could fit the steamer in my suitcase without it taking up much room at all which I was very chuffed with, it is also lightweight and so doesn’t weigh your bags down it feel like an effort to carry. Then I took out our evening outfits and tried the steamer to get the old creases out of them and was so impressed - the steamer heats up almost instantly so allows you to use it as soon as possible, and it took out the creases on my dresses, blouses, shirts, shorts & jeans with great effect. It brought my clothes back to life after living in a suitcase for a week! When compared to another steamer I have , this one is the clear winner as it is so much more compact, easy-to-use and heats up within seconds. And when compared to ironing, this steamer is a clear winner for me as I can use it again quickly, easily, anywhere and without the hassle of a big ironing board. It’s simple to use and worth it to use on just one outfit - whereas when I’ve previously got my iron out Ive felt like I’ve had to do a big load of washing to make it worth it. Quick and easy to use, light, compact and really useful - can’t complain at all! Amazing product.

Not the best for a shirt

The steamer sound as a great gear for quick shirt refresher hoverer, get a bit disappointed at the end. I tested on a few of my shirts (not ironed after wash) and some t-shirts. It was struggling with shirt, but it deals much better with t-shirts. You still need to found a place to hang a shirt / t-shirt to steam, as holding in hand is not the option. I thought it will be easy, but unfortunately is not. I used airier. Will still prefer using iron with steam function instead handled steamer. Quick and easy to use

I found it worked better on curtains than it did on garments. This may have been because the curtains were already hung, whereas there was insufficient space to hang a garment while using the steamer. I used a cable extension so that the steamer could reach anywhere while being plugged in. I would think that this would be best for travel, hung curtains and sheets. It would be easier for travel than an iron and would be more effective than a travel iron. I will definitely be taking it on my next holiday. I also like the fact that it kills 99.9% of bacteria. It is very easy to fill with water, very quick to start up, and very easy to use. There was one small concern. I did not know if the steamer was safe enough to leave on its side while either moving garments around ... MoreI found it worked better on curtains than it did on garments. If the bag enclosed with the steamer is heat resistant, please can Philips let us know.
