I love this monitor, which is a great addition to my budget gaming PC. The monitor is quite customisable, looks great and runs games smoothly. The extra wide screen gives a wider vision of scenes in FPS (First Person Shooter) games, which is a decisive advantage over narrower screens. Since switching from my old 16x9 QHD 60fps Dell monitor, I'm experiencing much smoother game-play too, at around 100fps. The only issue I've had with the Samsung S50GC is that my PC occasionally freezes when booting-up. Restarting fixes it. It's likely my ageing nVidea GT1030 video card is sometimes having trouble stepping up to the monitor's UWQHD resolution or 100Hz frame-rate, which is likely close to the limit for the card, but it usually boots fine and when it's up and running ... MoreI love this monitor, which is a great addition to my budget gaming PC. So, I was super-excited to replace my old monitors w/this sleek new 34” ultra-widescreen monitor. When hardware design aligns w/required functionality AND desired aesthetics, it makes all the difference! After setting up the new monitor, I walked out of & back into my office to get a fresh look at my new minimalist widescreen perched atop my riseable standing electric desk. I just smiled & whispered, “Wow!” The Ultra-WQHD resolution (3,440 x 1,440), 100Hz refresh rate for less latency & blur & 21:9 aspect ratio all contribute to stunning images & video. And the extra-thin bezel is so refined that it almost appears bezel-less. This accentuates the minimalist look I’ve always wanted & now finally have. After just a few days, I’ve already noticed less eye fatigue. The Intelligent Eye Care system’s ambient light sensor detects the changing light levels in my home office, day & night, & auto-adjusts the brightness. And although I try not to do computer work w/in an hour of bedtime, sometimes I’m forced to work late into the night to meet deadlines. Thankfully, the Eye Saver Mode minimizes excessive blue light which has already begun to help prevent some of the circadian rhythm disruption that I was experiencing from my previous monitors. And given that I sometimes spend up to 12 hrs./day doing computer work, I’m pleased that this monitor includes Flicker Free technology to help further manage screen brightness. My older monitors used technology that turned the backlight on & off rapidly, which, even though I couldn’t detect it, was creating eyestrain. My old monitors were equipped w/lower std. 60Hz refresh rates & bulky ½” bezels.Contrasting my old SDR (Std. Dynamic Range) monitors displaying around 16M colors vs. this new HDR10 (High Dynamic Range) technology displaying 1B+ colors--the difference even to the untrained naked eye is immediately noticeable. Yes, there are darker darks & brighter brights & all that, but it wasn’t until I streamed a movie in HD this weekend that I was awakened to the real difference. I was stunned by the crystal clear clarity of the actors’ headshots--down to even the pores in their faces in the close-up shots. With this level of detail in color, brightness, & shading, there’s really no place to hide for actors today. Finally, as for my work, the Picture-by-Picture/Picture-in-Picture functions flawlessly, allowing me to leave email open on one side & documents or another App open on the other side.Overall, I’m giving this 5 stars. It’s a beautiful monitor at a good value.

This is an excellent monitor for the price! I have it connected to a MacBook Air 15" and it worked out of the box using a simple USB C to HDMI 2.1 cable. That said, you have to use BetterDisplay to get a more complete list of resolutions to choose from (this only applies to the Mac). It did take me a while to get it to look perfect, as far as black levels go, but the level of detail and quality is on par with the liquid retina XDR display in the Mac itself. I wasn't too sure about using an ultra widescreen display TBH, but it's just PERFECT! I have my dock on the left side of the screen. Great monitor, bad stand
25 December 2023

This monitor is definitely good for its price (and when it is on sale, even better). I was shopping around for a bargain gaming PC and became hooked on the idea of purchasing an ultrawide monitor to go with my setup, and I found this one discounted. Overall, I think it was a good decision. It's really enhanced my gaming experience and the colors and graphics are crisp. I think buying "gaming specific" monitors is a scam, this is just as good and far cheaper than you are going to find on the market. Additionally, as a college student, it was a lifesaver in writing my final papers for a few classes. Being able to pull up my windows side-by-side is something I didn't really think about, but it's probably my favorite thing now.On to my only complaint: I really don't ... MoreThis monitor is definitely good for its price (and when it is on sale, even better). It feels cheap, it's not adjustable, and my monitor always points slightly down no matter how much I tighten the screws. This really isn't the biggest problem, however, because you can just go get another arm/monitor/stand and that will fix the issue entirely.Overall, I'll give it a 8/10Both gamer and work-friendly!

I would not recommend this monitor for gaming
31 July 2024

Let me preface that i hardly ever leave a really bad review. I was looking for a larger monitor than my current one, and this one was on sale (with tax for ~$250), but for me, it was just a bad monitor overall. The screen colors were off, the brightness wasn't very good, there was constant tearing when playing games, and text was blurry? I dont know how else to describe it. When playing games that wouldn't even require higher refresh rates, the frames would just jump and tear the images. (I tried other games besides these here for games with lower refresh rates) I tried to play COD, Overwatch 2, and Escape the Backrooms, each having issues. There was constant tearing in each game, the resolution was mediocre even though it said it was 1440p, and COD was just terrible to play. Overall, i would definitely NOT recommend this monitor for gaming. Text was also blurry and weird to read.

Monitor works well for CMYK photo/print editing
10 February 2024

I purchased this monitor to replace two 4x3 format 19-inch monitors that were getting a little old. I have other Samsung devices and have found their video to be first-rate. I use this monitor for editing photos and other graphics for primarily print media (CMYK). Other than being set far too bright for photo editing, the color balance was spot on. After going through some calibration steps on Windows 10, I have the levels where they are close enough to print to be able to feel comfortable with the match. The monitor, of course, has a few more "f-stops" range than is possible on CMYK prints--the old Ansel Adams Zone-System applies. In any case, the monitor's fine resolution is great, and 100 fps video is pleasing to the eyes--no flicker compared to the old 70 fps ... MoreI purchased this monitor to replace two 4x3 format 19-inch monitors that were getting a little old. Incidentally the monitor comfortably fits into the space that my two 19-inch monitors used. One other thing, being able to look at two-page spreads as they appear in a book is great. I'm using the Display Port connection. One final note: be sure to download the Samsung device drivers for Windows; this will probably not automatically happen as Windows may just use a generic driver instead. This will provide better color management.

Nice cheaper alternative to curved monitors.
5 January 2024

I have been using this monitor for just under a month now. I have been very happy with it. It helps a lot with these widescreen monitors to have Windows 11 for easier window sizing of various software. You can click the window and drag it to the top and then pick which size you want the window to be. I have tried 2 windows side by side. This is typically my gaming set up. I have also tried quadrant windows, so 4 windows total and that's not too bad either. The flatness isn't that much of an issue to me. The fact that it was much cheaper than the curved monitors that are similar in size was the selling point for me. I know curved monitors are all the rage right now, but this one works fine for me for what I do. The resolution on this one is 3440 x 1440. It's nice because not everything is ready for 4k and this is a slight upgrade from my 2k monitors that I had before. I would definitely recommend this monitor.

Bought the Samsung Ultrawide 3440x1440p 100HZ VA panel monitor and I had my doubts (due to people saying VA panels suck ) but I took the risk anyways . I am coming from an old LG Ultrawide from 2018 2560x1080p and this one is actually really , really good .The colors look better than my older monitor and obviously sharper images and gameplay . The viewing angles aren’t bad at all and I don’t get ghosting with scrolling like I’ve seen other YouTube videos say. I played an FPS game and strategy game on it and looked amazing , no issues . I went down from 144HZ on my monitor to 100hz and don’t notice a difference . This panel , atleast is really really good. The contrast is amazing , it’s soft on the eyes , colors are awesome , not curved so you can do multimedia ... MoreBought the Samsung Ultrawide 3440x1440p 100HZ VA panel monitor and I had my doubts (due to people saying VA panels suck ) but I took the risk anyways . The only issue I have , this being my first 1440p is that some sites the tech is too small but I’m sure that’s a site scaling issue .I recommend this to anyone looking for a good gaming and multimedia without breaking the bank. This is on sale for $250

Ultrawide screen with multiple inputs PIP and PBP

The Samsung - 34" ViewFinity S50GC Ultra-WQHD 100Hz AMD FreeSync Monitor with HDR10 is an impressive looking monitor. It’s my first foray into the ultra-wide screen craze and I’m starting to appreciate it already. Some of the bosses at work have the higher end curved versions but this will do just fine for my working from home office. I have been using two older 27” Samsung 1080p curved monitors and despite their relatively thin bezels, they’re still a bit too much head turning from one side to the other.I do a lot of multitasking work, coding, large spreadsheets, reporting and monitoring dashboards and with this Samsung 34” ultrawide monitor I can practically fit almost twice as many spreadsheet columns and 1.5 times as many rows I would on a single 27” 1080p ... MoreThe Samsung - 34" ViewFinity S50GC Ultra-WQHD 100Hz AMD FreeSync Monitor with HDR10 is an impressive looking monitor. All of this in an impressive width of 32” inches.Installation was super easy, only taking a few minutes to attach the stand and connect the external 19 VDC power supply and the included HDMI and DisplayPort cables. Image adjustments are pretty basic but good enough for the average consumer in this price range. It is a bit less crisp and the colors are less vivid than my other monitors, but that’s something also dependent on the signal source. I’ll have to play around with more video card settings on my work laptop, since it certainly looks crisper when connected to my personal desktop PC. One great feature usually only found in older/higher-end TV is Picture in Picture and Picture By Picture which I love about this monitor. That allows me to have my work laptop and personal desktop connected and displaying side by side or in a smaller window, so I can watch or work on other content as needed without having to go to another room. I wish it was a bit brighter since my desk is by a window that gets a lot of sun in the afternoon, but at least the screen has an anti glare coating that helps in bright rooms like mine. All in all this is a budget friendly mid-range monitor with very narrow bezels great for consolidating multiple monitors into one yet still offering tons of screen real estate for work multitasking, watching videos and standard gaming.
